I'm Level 9 -- is it a good idea for me to hunt for the Griffin Set so that hopefully soon when I am 11 I can wear it? Is it the best gear set around my level?

Definitely worth going for any of the Witcher gear once you get close to the required level. Griffin set is great.

Is the ps4 version of this game good? I know it got some patches after it came out, does it run pretty well?

It's had 18GB of patches.

Seriously.

I'm at about 40 hours so far and the game is running fine. I've noticed slight visual glitches once or twice. I wouldn't be happy if there were any big problems because, again,

18 bloomin' GB of patch!

Started the first one today. Oh my what a difference. That combat system really is something else. :D

I have to say though, the game itself looks pretty damn good for a game from 2007-2008. Everything maxed out on 4k and it's more than acceptable.

And oh, I'll definitely have to adjust to Geralt's face. :p

Wow.. just WOW... the game was fun and started with kind of a slow burn. But then it really picked up last night when
Geralt and Keira were looking for clues in that dungeon. The dungeon was terrific to go through and explore
. When the next zone began, I found the quest line with
the Baron and his family
extremely compelling. When you are in the
bog
, that music! So good! And then when the
crones come out
, I was expecting
witches, but they are like cenobites instead
?
Who eat little kids? Their payment in human ears?
I chose to
free the dark spirit in the woods to save the orphans, but then of course it cost the Barons wife her life, and ultimately the Baron, whom I felt we had spent a lot of time and were getting him to turn around, ends up hanging himself.

I literally played until dawn. My wife came downstairs at 6 am and yelled "Oh my god, have you been up all night? Didn't you go to sleep??". To which I replied "Of course I did! You know I get up early!". I'm pretty sure she didn't buy that since I was still dressed in my same clothes from when I started playing the night before ;)

Great game!

CDPR are holding a charity auction for one of their promotional statues. Was used as the backdrop for many of their press interviews, apparently. Pretty neat. At least the face detailing is slightly better than the collector's edition figurine ´ڡ`

Haha, nice!

It really sucks how the game seems to arbitrarily hand out superior oils. I have nearly everything else maxed out but I have to pray to RNG gods that the next chest I open has a recipe for several of the superior oils I am missing.

Same here. :/ Got the last Superior bomb recipe I was missing and one Superior oil from Hearts of Stone, but I'm still missing 2 Superior oils, I think; probably won't be able to get 'em until Blood & Wine.

Kinda weird that they made them random like that.

Yeah, definitely.

It's not like "rushing to get Superior alchemy stuff early" would be be a thing, because alchemy crafting still requires ingredients from rarer or tougher monsters, plus other ingredients worth hundreds of crowns, if not 1000-2000 total.

Put two hours into the game and it's biuruful. I've just literally just did ?'s on maps and contracts in the first area. I'm pretty sure I did stuff way over my level considering I was level 1 doing level 2+ quests and what not.

Does crafting go up as you level or do you have to craft **** to level your crafting? Also, when you loot diagrams for crafting and alchemy are the automatically learned?

Oh BTW I love having mods!

I have a bigger issue with there not being enough unique ingredients in the game to craft all of them and absolutely no warning that you might have to choose at some point.

Ok so I'm playing on PS4 only really played 2 or 3 hours and I'm getting a very frustrating stuttering issue. Seems to develop after about 20-30 minutes of play, just out of the blue and won't go away until I restart the game.

Is this a known issue, cos it better get fixed soon?

Haven't experienced anything like that...have you downloaded all the patches?

Yep completely up to date. I'm only at the beginning of the game and the last two times I've played I got about 20-30 minutes of gaming time in, game working smoothly, and all of a sudden a persistent stutter. Pan the camera slowly around and you can see it, maybe like twice a second, constantly. I can't play it like this and restarting every half hour isn;t my idea of fun either :\

I'll suggest this again, even though I don't have a PS4.

Rebuild database.

This seems to be a wonder fix for a lot of problems on PS4.

Finally completed the game a few days ago. Passed my expectations completely, and is honestly probably the best RPG I've played (although I haven't played many 'classics', which I plan on fixing soon).

I just started playing Hearts of Stone, and love it so far, especially everything involving O'Dimm. CDPR, plz keep releasing expansions of the same quality until The Witcher 4. Thx.

Is there generally "best" merchants to sell things or buy things? I just got to Novigrad and I seem to be getting a ton more for stuff here compared to Velen.

Depends on how the quest ended. He may have
hanged himself
or
went away with his wife to help her get better.

I want to play the Velen Gwent questline, but I haven't played against the Baron. I heard that you can find the unique card in his rooms, but when I activate the quest in my log there's only a waypoint to the square in front of his house.

So for the Djistra quest where
he's plotting to kill Radovid
is there just the quest to find the cobbler out of that quest line? Is that it?

So I made an error that i didn't realize. I completed the Bloody Baron stuff without first playing him at Gwent because I figured I'd just mop up everything later on.

While scrolling through my quest log I see that there is now a red X through the "Play Baron and acquire a special card."

I have yet to
go to Skeliege or get out of Novigrad yet. Right in the middle of the Whoreson Junior/Dandelion stuff.
Is it too late for me to round up all the Gwent cards?

You can go back to his place and loot it from the room you two talked in a lot.

But be sure to play Gwent at the masquerade party of the Novigrad quest line when it comes up, cause I missed that one.

I've been playing the game on and off since I got it at launch, and tonight I've finally completed it. It has it's problems but I enjoyed the game nonetheless. The ending was awesome too.

Thanks. Now I just have to actually get good enough to win some games. :(

Put me in a 8 on 1 fight on Death March and I'll win no problem but a deck of cards in my hand and I fall the fuck apart. >_<

So, the only trophies I need for the platinum are the gwent-based ones which means I'm gonna start a play through which is essentially dedicated to playing Gwent.

Could someone give me some tips, please? Either collecting or playing tips would be much appreciated.

Play every innkeep and every merchant. Do the quests for the powerful cards.

Once you get Foltest the Siegemaster as a leader, use him. Use spy cards. Get a few decoy cards. Ditch all weather cards except clear weather and maybe one or two biting frost cards to deal with Monster decks. Your special slots are better spent on heroes, decoys, commander's horns and scorch cards.

Don't be afraid to lose a round every once in a while. It can be a tactical move, getting your opponent to waste cards while you build your deck with spies or just wait it out.

Been playing TW3 off and on since August because I don't want it to end, but I've made it one of my New Years resolutions to finish the damn game and start Hearts of Stone haha. Went and got the Superior Wolf & Griffin armor last night. I just hit level 31 and I'm finishing up the
Final Preparations + Through Time & Space
quests, so I'm pretty close to the end. This game just blows my mind one way or another every time I play it.

I own Witcher 3 on XBox One, but haven't played it yet. I bought my XBox One from a private seller, and it came with it.

I may start playing soon, but I'm wondering if I should sell my XB1 copy and get it on PC instead. I have a good rig, and I imagine I would be able to run Witcher 3 at High, if not Ultra (I run Fallout 4 at High, but Ultra doesn't seem to give me any problems).

Does the PC version run noticeable better than the XB1 version?
