Most likely working on DMC5. Their integrated report from last year depicted their pipe line for the 2016-17 fiscal years (the 2017 fiscal year ending March 31st 2018) implied that a new DMC game is in development. Development of DMC4SE was outsourced to Access Games.

Yeah, there's really not much else that the guy and his team could feasibly working on, at this point. When they'll finally let us SEE it is probably the better question.

So much good japanese gaming potential that was hardly present last gen. Wish I could hear from zero time dilemma director on his thoughts. Think persona 5 comment is trolling, the developers were sad to see the reaction of the fans on their last delay so think they would want to avoid that in my eyes.

Idea Factory’s Norihisa Kochiwa (Neptunia series, etc.)

We’re close to the announcement of a new title we have in production. Pay attention to the character design. Otherwise, we’re also preparing a Compile Heart-ish eccentric stimulation RPG.

Idea Factory’s Kentaro Kanno (Agarest Wars, Mugen Souls, etc.)

Since the title I’m in charge of is progressing in its own way, I might be able to share news in little time.

Idea Factory’s Shoko Mizuno (Neptunia series, Death Under the Labyrinth, etc.)

For my new project, we’re currently making preparations for the preparations. The announcement may be a little while from now.
Bwahahaha.

Square Enix’s Yoshinori Kitase (Final Fantasy series)

This year will still be a preparation year for Final Fantasy VII Remake. I want to create new value for the PlayStation 4 hardware for our next debut.
Next, next debut?

Atlus’ Shigeo Komori (Etrian Odyssey series)

Etrian Odyssey V is in its final stages of development. It's cold, but it seems like we'll have more details a little after it starts to warm up.

Hope to hear about Etrian Odyssey V soon

Marvelous’ Yoshifumi Hashimoto (Rune Factory, Luminous Arc, Bokujou Monogatari, etc.)

We have yet to announce anything new, but we have several titles in production.

New Rune Factory please...

Not working on Smash is probably Sakurai's break. I'm curious about his next effort. He did an excellent job resurrecting Kid icarus and making it relevant in 2011. It was a surprisingly big game in terms of depth.

Here's what Sakurai said about a sequel:

Nintendo has revealed, via the game's creator, that there will be no sequel to Kid Icarus: Uprising, which released a few months ago on the Nintendo 3DS.

When asked about the possibility of the franchise being expanded, Masahiro Sakurai said: "If by 'lasting universe' you mean to ask if there's a sequel, the answer is no. We pushed a lot into the game in order to let people have this short yet deep experience, but the novelty of that would likely grow thin in the next game."

Sakurai didn't rule out future Kid Icarus titles in the future though, but stated that it might be another 25 years until we see one. "For now, my thought is that perhaps we'll see someone else besides me make another Kid Icarus in another 25 years."

Grassshopper Manufacture’s Goichi Suda

What the heck is going on with Let It Die? Don’t worry, we’re making it!

I always die a little more inside every time this game gets mentioned. I subconsciously hope that Let It Die is just one big joke.

I want Lily Bergamo back. :(

Etrian Odyssey V is very strange. It is already in the final stage of development yet Atlus still hasn't announce the platform of it.

It makes me think of Pikmin 4... Would it be a NX game instead of 3DS?

Capcom is due for some major announcements. They're home to like 1000+ developers and they all can't be working on just Street Fighter, Ace Attorney, DDO, and a spin-off RE shooter.

People said the same thing last year and look at them now. Capcom is..... they are..... just.... sigh. Yeah, they are sorta dead for now outside of remasters (and logos).

I hope at least they give us a new logo for DMC's 15th anniversary. I don't know, even that might be asking too much right now.

Bandai Namco’s Hideo Baba (Tales of series)

This will be the year we announce in detail the content we’ve been preparing for a long time. We want to step out of our comfort zone and take a step forward into a new direction.

Doesn't sound like he's talking about Berseria.

I'm curious.

They're working on SF5, which they'll be supporting throughout the entire gen, Sengoku Basara: Sanada Yukimura-den, Umbrella Corps, RE 2 HD, RE 0 HD, RE 7, Monster Hunter Stories, and Ace Attorney 6, as far as we know. It's not a lot, but they're not exactly sitting on the hands. There's also their integrated report from last year that revealed their planned pipeline across the next two fiscal years:

They're not gonna do that. Maybe for the 20th in 2021.

Sakurai just stop playing and make the Smash Bros tactics game you've wanted to make for a while now.

SF V is being funded by Sony. So, God knows how many years it would have taken if Capcom themselves wanted to fund and develop the entire game. So that's a special case.

Also, you are counting remasters (which I actually mentioned) and games that haven't been announced or we know nothing about yet. (for all we know RE7 might be 2d side scroller digital only game that gets canceled and never releases)
I'm obviously joking but you get my point.

Though I give you the handheld stuff, I kinda forgot about those. So, I'll just change my earlier statement a little.

"When it comes to home consoles, Capcom is sorta dead for now outside of remasters (and logos)."

There. That's pretty accurate, if I say so myself.

They're not gonna do that. Maybe for the 20th in 2021.
Damn! Would have killed for a new logo right now. 5 more years to go then.

I hope Sakaguchi's next title is actually something for consoles. Barring that, something console like would be nice. Terra Battle was nice, but it just wasn't the sort of game I could play long term.

They've mentioned 2018 if not for Sony's involvement. Anyway, those were their conditions in 2013. It's hard to say if they could or couldn't have funded it on their own if they started development now, as 2015 was a solid year for them.

RE 0 HD is the only remaster among the ones I mentioned. RE 2 Remake is being built from the ground up so doesn't qualify as a remaster in the same vein as RE 0 or REmake. It's also a pretty big project.
They've been pretty open about RE7 being in development. Also, it's been 3 years since RE6 came out. RE6 came out 3 years after RE5. It's common sense that they're working on RE7. They don't make an RE2 remake before RE7.

I feel like Sakuari is probably gonna work on something new, not necessarily a new IP or anything like that, but just something he's never done before. I would personally love to see him take another dead Nintendo IP and revive it.

I don't think Microsoft is willing to fund those kinds of games anymore (regarding Lost Odyssey 2).

I wouldn't be so sure. You look at titles like Scalebound and ReCore and kind of wonder when on LO 2 or a new vision from Mistwalker.

I really want to see what Ueda does next. It's been a few years but he last talked about HL2 being an inspiration and wanting to do a game in that style. Whatever that means.

I wish I could share the sentiment that Sakurai invoked good game play to me. He certainly has a gift for exploiting meta-content down to a science.
