Hmmm... Just ran the compatibility test and it says my USB ports wouldn't work for it.... But I have 8 usb 3.0 ports. Wah?

$914 Canadian all in.

I ordered. I think my girlfriend is going to kill me if she ever finds out how much I spent.

I don't care.

Goodbye real world.

Thanks to the person who told me to set up an account ahead of time.

NOPE!

Wow.

I hope PSVR is cheaper.

It will be. Substantially so, I'm guessing.

It's just a matter of how substantial. $299 sounds like the sweet spot to me, but that's half the price so it's perhaps a bit ambitious to expect. My only fear is that this will embolden Sony to do $400 now.

well, they just gave Sony the upper hand

There should never have been any doubt about this. This is for the ethusiats among enthusiasts, not the average person. PSVR is going to target the wider audience.

That's a real shame, I was starting to get hype and they just put a bullet in its head.

Yeah, some fanatics will pay at this price, but I'm really doubting the Oculus will be viable. They won't be able to get enough of a foothold to change anything. :(

Thank god one of them finally released a price. The others will follow very soon now. Come on Vive, pull a Sony. :D

And I thought my 550 guess was generous.

I'd have sucked it up if they were shipping soon (Jan), but as late as possible instead (March)? Back to waiting on Vive..

Uh oh... Feels like PS3 all over again.

There are only two times in my gaming life that I can remember having a "holy shit" moment in disbelief. The first was the price for the PS3 and the second was today. Funny enough it's the same price point. Wow.

what's with the "rip vr" comments? this was always going to be niche just because of the system requirements, it'll sell well with an audience that's less price sensitive.

vr was never going to go mainstream until a few years down the line when mid-range computers are better and they've driven down the headset cost.

Even stuff like DVD players were insanely expensive at first. Launch of new hardware is almost always going to be for enthusiasts and priced accordingly.

Order placed, although a little hesitantly. $600 was about $100 more than I'd set my bar. That said, controller, remote, and two games? Alright, we'll see. I can always sell my DK2, I'm sure.

edit: Paying for shipping on top of that hurts.

600 is way too mutch, concidering you need to DLC of motion controllers, so it will end up what, maybe 800? and if youre computer is even slightly older you need 970 at minimum so 1100. Vr has steep price to get to

Not surprised. Peoples expectations were vastly underestimated. I'll be surprised if Sony comes in at $399 tbh. I'd be happy if it does, but feels more like $450~. Vive will likely come in higher than Oculus.

Brand new market, bleeding edge technology, tons of new tech and innovations inside it.

I see no reason why it wouldn't be $600.

Placed an order, not sure if I will cancel or not but gives me a month to decide. $30 shipping, $0 tax in Nevada.

Anyone else get "Something went wrong. Please try again." over and over though when you click on Reserve your space in line for Oculus Touch?

$599? 629 after tax? I cannot justify that kinda price. Hopefully the vive will be cheaper. Fuck, i really wanted an Oculus.

I knew this would happen. This price tag will prevent mass popularity and that's for damn sure.

VR isn't #happening until it's more accessible.
