Time for two squads, one to lock down an extraction point, farming anybody who tries to use it, another to hit all the item drop points in the area to bring loot back to the extraction.

Be interesting to see how the meta forms.

Please tell me what exactly is outside a real world scenario in The Division?

Sure things might be embellished for dramatic purposes, but there is nothing unnatural, impossible or supernatural in this at all.

This could technically happen.

also wtf I just saw a rat try to kill a pigeon :O

I find it funny you can kill rats, and numbers still pop up.

It looks cool but it bugs me how the enemies just keep walking right at the players while taking bullets to the face.

Why does that bother you? It's an RPG. One, two or three shots to the head won't be enough for most enemies in the game, especially the higher level elites.

Three shots to the head appears to work just fine. The issue seems to be that there is almost nobody on Twitch who can intentionally put three consecutive shots in a grouping that size.

What bothers me is that the AI is just continually walking directly into your gun fire instead of moving to cover.

I haven't played the beta yet, but the footage tells me that the graphics are not something to look forward to. No shadows in interior buildings, no trash on the streets as shown in the E3 demo. The streets looks really empty, but maybe its a design choice because it limits player movement? The night cycle also looks very dull... I dont know what to make of this, but im looking forward to playing it tomorrow with 2 friends.

The video I linked isn't on Twitch or in the beta this weekend. It's high level gameplay featuring purple/yellow elites and a boss. Three shots ain't enough for them.

What bothers me is that the AI is just continually walking directly into your gun fire instead of moving to cover.

I think it's because up close in direct fire they can wipe players out so they try and close them down every now and then, especially if they have shotguns or sidearms for close range combat.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.
cool...I'm thinking about not starting up Rise of the Tomb Raider tonight as it'll be hard to tear myself away from it and move on to The Division

I look forward to this distraction from The Witness tomorrow. Time to shoot people in the head and let my own brain take a break.

Well if that's their strategy it might be a better plan to run or charge at the player rather than stroll towards them at a leisurely pace like a wannabe Terminator :). It's not a major issue just something I noted which seems a bit off to me.

Between a doctors visit this morning, getting to work and finding the store has no internet, and this fucking Apple recall on charger heads, my day today has sucked. And I can only barely get cell reception inside the building for mobile internet, so I'm desperate for beta impressions and footage.

This work day cannot end soon enough, so I can come home and play ;_;

A lot of players in the dark zone sure like exploiting the beta map barriers when running down their huge rogue timers.

Hopefully the full map won't feature any dead ends with only one choke-point entrance. I keep wiping teams of 4 by myself at a distance though, the M1A is fantastic. I thought the 3000 credit orange guns from the safe zone vendor were priced crazy high, but I bought them both on the first day just by chasing big bounties.

High level gameplay on YouTube looks promising to me. This video in particular is getting me excited.

So many lines and prompts and warnings and markers on the screen! Not sure how I feel about it but it definitely seems like its going for a "next-gen" feel. Really reminds me of that Ghost Recon (future soldier?) game on Xbox 360.

Definitely pumped to try it on PC regardless!

Played a little on Xbone and it seems quite promising.

Looking forward to seeing how it looks on PC though. That should be where the real magic is.

man cannot help but feel these Devs on the stream are just eating their cake and avoiding any kind of fire this game can receive. Watching it now Emil Mujanovic is streaming he name dropped Neogaf saying they read these forums.

Yet he refuses to answer questions that they already know are worrying about this game. He refuses to answer questions about Downgrade, then he goes on to give fluffy responses how this game looks fantastic on all platforms. Twice now he has gone thru that. They refuse to answer what max level is in game. I'm no expert but the amount of content in this Beta is telling. The previous caster kept harping on how this is a Closed Beta but come on so many keys available.

Yeah its great they are doing this 24 hour stream but clearly they are avoiding a lot of the obvious questions this game has and then not giving honest answers by using marketing speech. DO you reward them for this stream or just realize its the same fuck all attitude thats normal from Ubisoft.

Well I pre-ordered the game. Its something ive been looking forward for 3 years now. This is the kind of game ive been looking for, for a long time.

So happy Beta starts tomorrow at 7am!

Yeah playing on Xone now. Graphics are ok, nothing spectacular but then again its probably because I've been using my PC alot. Can see the devs also changed a few things since the 2014 gameplay showing.

If anyone wants to play tomorrow on PS4, my PSN is the same as my username. Add me, but make sure you say you are from GAF otherwise I will ignore.

I don't think Ubisoft is only publisher with huge PR / Marketing department that that has strong hold on pre-release and post-release narrative, what can and can't be told masses because controlled narrative and marketing schemes. Pretty much all AAA developers and/or publisher hold up narrative and avoidance described above and isn't anything new, or Ubisoft exclusive.

imo

The music and atmosphere in this game are second to none.

You can tell it's a game by Massive, the music alone gives me mad World in Conflict vibes.

Wonder if the same dude does the music in this? Any devs on here care to elaborate?

Dark Zone can be quite fun. I had an interesting event where four players staked out a building and killed people until their group was targeted for headhunting.

They were doing pretty well, so eventually what ended up happening was almost every other player in the zone joined the assault and overwhelmed them.

So far I'm impressed by the Rogue PvP mechanic.

What bounties? do you get a lot of money for killing rogue agents?

How are people finding this without the darkzone stuff ? Im not a gold member atm so cant do darkzone or matchmaking , and im enjoying it as a solo experience, obviously only having the one mission kind of sucks, but im loving exploring the city solo.

Kind of wish you could stumble across players in the public but i also understand why they dont do it (Stealing your random events e.t.c)

Overall love the feel, the inerface, the exploring, just want more stuff todo as a solo player.

Its just the save the doctor mission in this correct? No other story missions besides random save hostage side quests e.t.c ?

Also ai in the map , are they ever wayy more then your level so you cant proceed ? yet to find an enemy above my level whom i found a real challenge

The topic of accidentally "going rogue" in the dark zone seems to keep coming up in the dev stream and I think its an interesting one.

From what it sounds like, even hitting someone accidentily with a round/shrapnel/whatever will cause you to go rogue. Some people are having a problem with that but I think it makes sense. Just imagine barely surviving a serious encounter, you're on the verge of death, and then somebody "wings" you and you're dead. Whether it was intentional or not doesn't matter to you because you lost your sweet lootz.
