It's kind of nuts that preorders from as early as Dec. 3rd are in doubt. How does that even happen?

Just pre-ordered the Alpha stick on bestbuy.ca. 5 more available now. Will need to return my Hori Mini stick to Amazon.ca.

Did I miss something? Why is everyone getting worried about Amazon and the sticks? lol I see they're still available to preorder with a Feb 16th release?

I know that when I preordered mine early January, even though the release was February 16th I was not given any release day delivery and so I had to choose and pay the extra for next day. My order status says the same as some of you in that there is no delivery date scheduled.

Amazon.ca shows different. Currently unavailable.

Amazon.com also shows: "Note on Availability: Due to high customer demand, orders shipped from and sold by Amazon.com placed now are unlikely to be delivered until April 2016. Order now and we'll notify you by email when we have an estimated delivery date for this item. Orders will be fulfilled in the order in which they are received."

look lower on the page, there is a note that any new preorders won't get shipped until April. No one knows when exactly that went up or how far back it relates to...

Amazon is always like this with peripherals and stuff that isn't hard-street dated like games are. Happens all the time. Things always get really vague right before the projected release because they depend on the third parties for supply of product.

With stuff like this there is a chance you might not get it at release because it's not street dated like software. It just depends on how far before they get stock from Mad Catz.

Mad Catz is supposed to get their supply first, so once peoples' orders there start updating, we should have a better idea.

Oh yeah you're right. Hmm that wasn't there a day or two when I was looking at the page...Heck I don't think it was there this morning when I was looking either?

That's more than the price of the a Wii U console.

I preordered the TE2+ right when the listing became active. If it gets delayed, I'll probably cancel it.

Don't really need a new stick since I already have a HRAP4 and brook adapters.

REGARDING PC COMPATIBILITY WITH MAD CATZ SFV Products
All PS4 controllers (the Mad Catz SFV range included) use the PlayStation 4 DS4 IC solution. They are all recognizable/working with PC but operate using d-input. SFV currently requires x-input (Xbox 360 controllers will work fine), however Capcom mentioned they will be incorporating an update to include d-input compatibility in the future.

There are workarounds to this and Capcom even posted about it on their FAQ via Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/app/310950/discussions/0/483368526574345402/

REGARDING SHIPPING IN NORTH AMERICA FOR MAD CATZ SFV PRODUCTS
In regards to shipping inquiries, I can only speak on behalf of Mad Catz. If you preordered on our webstores before the cut off date (Jan. 26), you should be able to receive your product by launch (depending on where you live). Our product in NA ships out of Southern California, so please consider the distance for shipping.

For Amazon/GameStop/New Egg customers, we will deliver their product prior to launch, however we don't hold accountability for how they ship/prioritize orders. Your best bet is to check with them.

That means you're getting a premium product.

I agree that $229 is steep. I've owned a few TE2s incuding the KI and Rivals versions. While the base is solid, I find the top lid/panel to be flimsy. The lids often dont sit flat, leaving a bow and gaps on the left and right where they should meet the sides. The plastic parts those sticks are assembled from never mate quite right. Thankfully they've apparently fixed that awful plexi.

Also, why the price increase? These used to be $200.

Cool, thanks for the info!

I can't say I've ever ordered a peripheral from Amazon before, or anywhere in a long time for that matter and this is my first fight stick, but I've seen here on gaf especially that when you get Amazon involved with your orders by enquiring it usually makes things worse in the end.

Thanks for the update MarkMan. Since it sounds like Amazon will be receiving the sticks before Feb 16th, I'm sure they'll be getting out to most early preorders by the games release (or at least very close to it).

because they fixed those problems and theres a full touchpad with support now.

Will the fightpads be sold at Gamestop?

I dont think they changed the construction of the top of the arcade stick, did they? That's probably what it would take to fix those problems.

Also, I'm not sure that the touchpad is justification for a premium is it?. It's not like PS4 controllers sell for $90.

EDIT: I should add, I'm not saying this isn't a good product. I love their sticks, but I do think the price increase makes it a harder buy.

I'm looking forward to impressions of the D-Pad on that fight pad. I'm a Saturn fan (would have loved that d-pad here), and currently have the PS4 Hori Fighting Commander 4 and it's ok but I have had incorrect inputs on it in the SFV beta. Also going with Analog Triggers I find questionable. It's fine if you want to map 3K and 3P to the "bumpers", but I like to do everything with the right hand I'm concerned about physical delay from having to push that trigger down. I'm not gonna jump on board yet..

Weird, why do you think it would be that? Why would it be anything other than who pre-ordered first?

I dunno, my assumption would be that Amazon would cater to the orders that paid for next day shipping or two day shipping first, as opposed to the orders that chose a lower cost shipping with an "estimated" shipping date.

Is it up to Capcom or Madcatz to decide if PS3 sticks will work?

i getcha, well they changed the plexi so its more flush idk if that helps. i do remember hearing that its basically like the chun stick now. the construction is more of the same though.

I disagree.
Markman, on the TES+ by how many MM or CM did you lower the button layout and stick from original TES to make space for the Touchpad?

Thank you.

There are a lot of changes that we are going to go over next week on our blog posts.

We've actually retooled/rebuilt the products and they're a lot more solid using better plastic/materials and metal panels than we've had in the past.

In regards to the pricing, with each new deal/product license (first party and licensed) we have to deal with new business deals and must adjust pricing accordingly to make sure our product survives in the market. That's just what it is.

While I'd like to price it at the same points/levels, we just can't at this day in age.

Ah I see what you mean! That would be awful could you imagine? Someone pre-orders the stick with regular shipping 2 months before a second guy late to the party. But the second guy picks next day shipping and his order gets fulfilled and ships first? Lol. Thankfully it's actually confirmed on the te2+ amazon.com page that "orders will be fulfilled in the order in which they are received".

Also, why the price increase? These used to be $200.

Maybe new designs cost, taking advantage of marketing and awareness on a very popular new street fighter series launch, higher-quality materials, touchpads technology added and licensing fees (to Sony and Capcom)?
