Its got to be happening. There have been far too many hints and references from Nintendo, the franchise is extremely popular as demonstrated by eshop sales of Earthbound. There's no way its not happening. It isn't happening is it?

I feel like it is finally going to happen. I think it's worth doing just to show goodwill towards Wii U owners and you could continue selling it on the NX through VC or whatever they use on it. Especially with the popularity of Undertale and another thin year for the Wii U, the time is right.
Regardless of how this game sells (and after EB's strong performance and Lucas being back in Smash, I'm sure it'll sell fine), Mother 3 in the West would earn Nintendo major PR points with their fans. And seeing how well Undertale has done, there's definitely still a market for quirky games like this.

I dont know how reliable Emily Rogers is but with this and the Paper Mario rumor she better be right.
So thanks to our local rumormongers and the Splatoon data-mining, I'm now expecting a Nintendo Direct in the not-too-distant future, featuring:

- Mother 3 on the WiiU eShop
- Paper Mario feat. Koopalings
(Yes, I know PM might be saved for E3. But they should show it now because I'm impatient.)
Also, Kimi would confirm that Marie is canonically the superior Squid Sister, but we already know that.

Man, that "Treehouse puts too many memes into their games" thing has become a meme onto itself.
Anyway, there's been way too much movement for the localization not to happen at this point. As soon as Earthbound Beginnings was announced, it was a matter of when on Mother 3, not if.

I want starmen.net to start recording their reactions to future Nintendo Directs, on the off-chance they show Mother 3. I want to see their reactions. Their devotion to the series is half of the reason why I love it, lol. And the book they made in the past and sent to Nintendo is the stuff of legend.

It's not happening, dammit. Beginnings only happened because they already had the translation finished so all it really cost them was wrapping it in an emulator and throwing it up on the eShop. Mother 3 would either require them to A) make a new translation from scratch or B) pay the people responsible for the fan translation in exchange for the right to use it in this release, and they probably aren't gonna waste that money for a game that's probably gonna cost all of $10 and be bought by only a small fraction of their already incredibly small userbase.
Now if only they'd reprint Ness an maybe not have it GS exclusive anymore? Its the only one of these toys I'd want -.-

Which leads me to believe it's going to be a $29.99 3DS physical release, with Amiibo support. They could get away with that or release the whole trilogy on one cart.
Either way, I don't think this will be VC.

I can see it being an E3 thing. Ever since the joke they started 2 (?) years ago in that presentation, it would be a good hype element especially to add some meat to the Wii U's final moments.
