GAF, what do you consider to be a food crime?

GAF, what makes you angry when it comes to food.

Let me start off by saying goes responses will be highly subjective so don't get too worked up.

These things really piss me off

Well done steak
Ketchup on steak, Ketchup in general it's pure fucking sugar
Cutting spaghetti/noodles
Pineapple on pizza
Fried egg where the yolk is solid, runny eggs are best

Seeing these will usually make me pretty angry.

  • Fried egg that hasn't been cooked enough i.e. the yolk is still runny.
  • Anything but well done steak
  • Vegetables on a pizza
  • All cakes that aren't chocolate
  • Mustard on a hot dog
  • Onions that aren't diced (seriously, anything bigger than a tiny cube and the crunchy horrible texture is just impossible to enjoy)
  • Mayonnaise on anything
  • Anything lower than 'Medium' spice at Nandos
  • Cream-based curries (seriously? no spice at all? It's just a yoghurt then)
  • Yoghurts with bits in it
  • American bacon
  • Potato scones that aren't fried. Additionally, they should be fried so much that they are burnt. Non-burnt potato scones are a disgrace.
  • Brown bread
  • Cream on anything, horrible
  • People using knife/fork for hand food i.e. burgers/pizza
  • Excessive vinegar (chippies particularly bad for this)
  • Peanut butter jelly
  • Nutella
  • Indian restaurants that make their chicken pakora and vegetable pakora look identical and you buy a munchie box and have no idea which is which and you end up biting vegetable pakora and suffering because of it
  • Brown rice / fried rice. Gotta be white and boiled.
  • Fried burgers. Please grill it!
  • Pizza without oregano on it. Okay, so I don't see this so much as a crime since the pizza will still be great, but oregano is cheap and enhances the flavor precisely one trillion per cent. It's so good you'd be silly not to.
  • Fusilli pasta. Seriously I know it's just a shape but it just doesn't seem to resonate with me. Penne and macaroni all the way.
  • Coleslaw. It just looks like a bowl of sick.
  • Celery in soup.
  • Twice cooked chips (fries).
  • People not finishing pizza crusts
  • Mushrooms
  • Pakora sauce. Pakora is juicy enough, it doesn't need sauce.
  • Any food that is cooked with alcohol as an ingredient

Good food start going bad because you put in a weird spot in the fridge that you didn't saw for some reason

Makes me really mad because it usualy happens with that godlike cheese that goes bad after very little time after opened =(

My family eating in culturally different places stresses me out. We went to Spain and they refused to eat anything but chicken and safe plates. I was the only one trying out cool shit like this squid ink rice thing. So good.

So yeah basically I'm stressed out that they're so easily grossed out and require a culinary safe space

Well done steak

I've come around on this in recent years. Used to be the only way I'd eat mine but I get down with a little bit of the juices now. I still don't mess around with too much red though. This might be a...ahem..."cultural" thing. Certain people just leaving eating this shit near-raw.

Bad_Boy

time to take my meds
people smothering ketchup all over anything. eggs, french fries, burgers, whatever.

a little is okay, but some people go overboard.

Wow, what a series of bad opinions (minus the steak thing).

Also have you ever had real pizza from Italy? Almost every pizza has veggies on it, and they're absolutely incredible.

Well done steak, check.
Ketchup, check

Hey OP, you have pretty good taste.

Pineapple on pizza, booo. Pineapple on pizza is godlike. You clearly don't understand food.

People judging what other people like to eat.

I find taste such a subjective matter that I can't fault other people for eating whatever they like, no matter how strange it must seem to me.

I prefer my steak medium. Never tried ketchup on it. Herb butter on steak that melts is so good though.

Baked bananas. I love banana, but bake it and it's my most hated food item.

And I love mayonaise. Sometimes when I'm home I mix ketchup and mayonaise together to go with my fries.

Why does Ketchup seem to piss off GAF so much on these food threads?

  • The flavor is extremely strong, so it basically overwhelms everything else. You can barely even taste the french fries, steak, etc.
  • The flavor is extremely simple. There's nothing complex or interesting about it.
  • The one flavor it has is basically just sugar/sweet/corn syrup. The most banal and childish of all flavors.

This thread is too much for me.

All you lowlifes putting ketchup on everything and wasting a good steak by eating it well done.

I'm out.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
I can eat (and even mostly enjoy) a well done steak, but it's still a pale mockery of a properly cooked steak.

My brother has a weird thing where he can't have mayo on anything hot. A nice hot chicken breast sandwich? nope. A burger or steak sandwich? nope. I find that pretty weird.
