Any Mets fans have a clue what the team should do with Montero? I mean, you can always use SP depth but I feel like he could be electric in a 7th/8th inning role (something that burned us in 2015)

I would use him in the bullpen man. SP is pretty set. time to develop him a role he can stick at.

Molina wants to remain a Cardinal for his career. Get that statue built already!

But MLB-Gaffers, is Yadi Molina HOF caliber?

The inside should just be a collection of @BestFansStLouis tweets.

Noted PERSON WITH COMPUTER Jonah Keri has released his power rankings. http://www.si.com/mlb/2016/02/18/the-30-preseason-power-rankings

Tyler Glasnow is one of the best young pitchers in the minors and has a chance to make the kind of instant impact that Gerrit Cole did in 2013. Twenty-three-year-old first base prospect Josh Bell could be an OBP machine whenever the Pirates want to call him up. Meanwhile, 23-year-old Alen Hanson could help the club right from Opening Day, with second base wide open following the trade of Neil Walker to the Mets.

So much of the Bucs season depending on whether young call ups will perform. Pittsburgh media seems to think that Jhay has the 2B spot, though. There's hope now that Kang can start 3B day one. So the infield will be pretty solid other than weakness at first til Bell takes over (assuming he can).

I kind of want that pillbox hat but I'm scared how much of a dork I'll look like wearing it.

I already have enough trouble with this modern world of high crown, flat bill hats.

get out of the past old man, snapbacks are great

/s, but in all honesty, I much prefer snapbacks compared to New Era hats

http://www.sfgate.com/giants/article/Willie-Mays-is-back-and-all-is-right-in-the-6840034.php

Something was missing from spring training last year, the sound of Willie Mays' voice inside the clubhouse at Scottsdale Stadium. This year, it's back.

Mays wasted no time flying to Arizona to take his familiar seat the "Hall of Fame" table inside the clubhouse, making what ordinarily is an annual visit.

Mays did not come in 2015. Just before he was due to travel he fell and injured a rib. But he looked fit Thursday. Asked how he was feeling, the 84-year-old great said, "Not too bad."

Mays' visits are not just ceremonial. He talks to the outfielders and plans to spend time with new center fielder Denard Span, who met Mays for the first time Thursday.

"I wasn't expecting that," Span said. "He told a lot of jokes. I didn't expect him to be that funny."

Normalcy has returned to Scottsdale.

Return of Mays = Even Year magic confirmed.

Long man/trade asset.

Spot starts when needed. I don't trust his shoulder to hold up. But he could be a nice BP piece if he acclimated to it.

He would have been REALLY nice to have in the WS.

Agreed. I'd try to get him acclimated to a late inning role. As it stands, we have the same weaknesses as last year...

Can't imagine rolling into Scottsdale and there's Willie Mays. I saw Sandy Koufax at the Dodgers place and my jaw hit the floor. Spring Training is the best.

I met Tom Seaver at Mets camp 5 years ago and almost started having a panic attack.

Nicest guy in the world.

BASEBALL YOU GUYS

Howard Megdal is actually a pretty good dude. The tagine is a little BFIB-y, but from what I understand the content is pretty good and really goes into the consistent success the Cardinals have had.

Feel like there is more new blood in here than usual.

it's cause baseball is awesome.

to be fair this time of year brings out a lot of people... and then when teams like the cubs despite the hype go 12-38 in their first 50 games they vanish since it's not fun to talk about a team going nowhere :p

Oh.

Oh I do believe it's betting time between you and one of our resident Cubs fans.
