Cadillac was apparently confirmed by another GAF insider to be Style Savvy. And if I had to guess, I'd say that Caviar F is Rhythm Heaven Plus.

Either way, there's really only 4 major new games from Nintendo themselves (3 if you discount Game Freak). The rest of this list is mainly late localizations & third party games picking up the slack. Clearly Nintendo's ramping up for the NX Platform.

What are the 4? I'm confused. Are we counting the mystery games?

I have to say, N-Star is the kind of bullshit codename you see on fake fan lists in the months before E3. Also, if this is true, I'm shocked that Nintendo has not one but two higher budget unrevealed 3DS games. Those cannot be internally developed, can they?

Kinda funny how your post literally has nothing we couldn't already guess

What about Disney Art Academy?

So a price cut on the 3DS around the time NX launches would imply that the NX is a handheld, right?
It may mean that Nintendo intends on selling the 3DS alongside the NX Platform, with the latter's handheld variant likely taking up the n3DS XL's old price tag of $200. Not sure if it means that the NX Handheld is for sure coming this year, but it's a good sign that an NX Handheld is coming.

The Wii U line up for this year is most likely this:
-Zelda Wii U
-Pokken
-Star Fox Zero
-Mario and Friends Amiibo Game
-Mario & Sonic
-Pikmin 4
-Paper Mario Wii U
-#FE (NA/EU Release)
-Zelda Wii U

We might get something else (HD Remaster?) but nothing else I really expect for this year.

sounds about right.
But are you assuming Retro's game is NX exclusive at this point?

I think whatever they're making will be on wii u, and ported later imo.

edit
or maybe that the game isn't 2016. Which makes sense too.

Retro's game is very likely one of the early post-launch games (same with 3D Mario if they push it to 2017), so yes, I feel its NX-only.

Cadillac is Style Savvy, so hoping Caviar is Picross 3D. Both Rhythm Heaven games bombing would lead me to believe this (at least both were heavily discounted). Of course I'd love both to come to retail, but if I must choose one...
Rhythm Heaven sold decently on the DS, so there's hope.

The Pokémon game, "N-Stars", Federation Force, & "Torte City"

Congrats again, Trev! Thanks for your perseverance in getting verified and for providing coherent, no-nonsense insider 3DS and NX info.

Question: Does your source by any chance know if Dragon Quest VII will be June or July? Assuming May falls under "early summer," really hope I don't have to wait until August, want to get as far of a head start as I can on 7 before 8 is released.

I think it's a safe bet that we are getting the NX handheld this year with a console version later down the road if rumors are true.

So Zelda Wii U will be ported to the NX handheld? I guess it could be fairly likely, as the NX handheld could be basically wii u gamepad level 540pish machine.

But then how could it have the Wii U Zelda? Surely the handheld is not as powerful as a Wii U

The Wii U is almost 5 years old now and its cost has more to do with the Gamepad than its actual power.

If the NXDS is more powerful than Vita, I think it could handle a Wii U game.

Maybe it will be a cross-gen game like Zelda U but you might be right with it being NX-only.

sounds about right.

OP also said there only seems to be one unannounced Wii U game (for 2016, at least), so if the Paper Mario rumor is accurate that's probably it. I doubt we'll see much, if anything, after that due to the focus on NX. Unless cross platform with Wii U doesn't take much effort, I doubt we will see them bother with it.

That's insane to me.

I don't know. I know what the other rumors suggest, but I cannot see a Nintendo handheld running something like Zelda U (I really hope they give this game a subtitle soon lol).

Maybe I'm wrong.

Oh god this is like the Nintendo fans equivalent of complaining Quantum Break is coming to PC lol.
You can't be serious, right?
Could take my post even more out of context, please? I don't think it's enough of a staple for idiotic statements about multi-platform releases yet and you would surely help me out with it, so please, while you're at it, could you maybe say that this post is also the equivalent of people complaining about Final Fantasy 7 coming to PlayStation instead of the N64 or people complaining about Sega going 3rd party or people complaining about Rare being sold off to Microsoft.

To be clear: My slight annoyance with this fact is just that I'll have to buy the game twice, because I'm a collector. And it is of such slightness that I didn't instantly pop a vein in my forehead, imagine that.

Yep, that one unannounced Wii U game was rumored to be Paper Mario Wii U, so that could easily be it.

Zelda U might be the only cross-gen Wii U/NX game, as if it was NX only Nintendo fans might be VERY angry about it not being a Wii U game anymore.

That's a pretty big deal to have revealed an upcoming 3DS price cut this fall. Anyone that follows gaming news will want to avoid purchasing a new handheld until the price cut comes.
If it were only a couple of months away maybe, but in this case Fall is 6-8 months off. Still messed up revealing stuff other than games though!

The WiiU is now 4 years old and when it launched it wasn't exactly high tech, most of the costs were in the gamepad itself. So I can see the NX having WiiU like graphics.

Well, it isn't even 4 years old, but I agree that NX portable could be as powerful as a wii u. Biggest issue would be battery life. The Wii U pad with the extended battery actually lasts a long fucking time, but isn't doing all the heavy lifting.

Looks like mid June for DQVII.

Trev, since it was confirmed by one other insider that Cadillac is the localization of the recent Style Savvy game, could you update the OP to reflect that? Also, did you hear anything about Caviar F being Rhythm Heaven Plus?

UGGHGHH
I just want to know what this thing is already. Is Smash still rumored to be an NX launch title game? Or has that since been debunked?

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
I saw the "Code Name" titles and thought they might be related to "Code Name: S.T.E.A.M." before I realized that wasn't literally the name of the game. :(

All aboard the Pokemon Rainbow party though!

All this secrexy better be worth the wait lol. Nintendo wanted to keep the wiiu secret and that whole concept was a bust that no one even attempted to emulate.

My bad, for some reason I was thinking 2011. Still, if the Nintendo Wizards can somehow run Xenoblade and Hyrule Warriors on the 3DS (at a lower resolution), I don't see why they can't do the same for their next console. I think the idea is for their games to be easily ported or compatible between every NX version.

We have Xenoblade Chronicles on the New 3DS. It's not like it has greater than or equal to the Wii U. Though it certainly can be, as others have pointed out, the Wii U is not exactly a powerhouse.

I think it's a safe bet that we are getting the NX handheld this year with a console version later down the road if rumors are true.

Well if a console version was coming I'd assume that the Wii U would get a price drop instead of the 3DS. Though I don't know how they have done it historically.

OP is vetted by bish btw

Also fucking finally, I'm down as fuck

Wonder if we'll get TLOP or NX first at retail

Haven't the recent rumors been implying the opposite?

That, and the opposite makes more sense. Wii U is dead in the water and the longer it is the face of Nintendo in the home console market the more their mindshare is damaged. 3DS is on the way out too, but it's still in a way better position than the Wii U. If they aren't launched simultaneously, they would be crazy to let the Wii U linger and replace the 3DS.

If the portable can run Zelda U, that will certainly be interesting though.

Place the bets on the mainline sonic game as well as much as you don't want it.

It has but I just think a 4 year lifecycle for Wii U burns every Wii U adopter who was expecting at least 5 years of full support just like every Nintendo console before it. If they release the handheld this year and the console in 2017 that wouldn't be an issue

If this is true I am happy. I want the new Zelda over on the NX.

Get me Smash 3DU deluxe NX version featuring Ridley and I'll be there day 0.

Nintendo is actually publishing a lot of games this year. I might also say this is probably the best first-party 3DS release list in North America ever. (Fire Emblem, Rhythm Tengoku +, Metroid, and at least one decent game out of the two big mystery titles).

Note: Shouldn't Mario & Friends: Amiibo Challenge be one of those titles? Or do eShop titles not count?
I dunno, I still think 2013 North American 3DS lineup is the GOAT when it comes to Nintendo published games.

This year looks pretty decent too though! :D

Yeah, I didn't even think about the Wii U adopters. This is a good point.

The Pokemon 20th Anniversary game really has me excited. I know it won't happen, but I'd love another Gameboy styled game like Megaman 9 was for NES.
