Her eyes in 2015 do a better job at showing disappointment I think.

I liked this part.

Click on the picture, and take a long god damn look at that blue bowl. Look at it. Look at it's reflective surface and the ridges. You didn't even notice it in the trailer, but now that I mention it you did take a long look, and said "Godaym. My mama/cousin/friend used to have a bowl just like that." You take a harder look at the bowl now and see how fucking insanely detailed and beautiful looking it is. You wanna see more of that bowl now. So you reopen the trailer and freeze frame more shots and notice "She's having pasta with tomatoes."
But you don't get to see really that much more of that bowl.
That shiny bowl, with those perfect curves and ridges.... mmmhmmm... it is like pure sex. Shit you should be working, looking out for the baby or listening to that boring work story your spouse is trying to tell you, but the only thing you can think about is seeing more of that bowl. Those damn teases at Naughty Dog.
How dare they make us wait for another 2 months till I get the ability to screenshot that bowl, out of every angle imaginable. Yeah screenshot editor, 360 degree view and fucking filters for that bowl...... shit I gotta go to IKEA right now to survive until this game hits retail.

The hair is definitely better in the after shot but c'mon guys they changed the lighting. Shots will always look different when the lighting is changed.

My ps4 is getting a good fan cleaning before I play this. I just know it's going to be pushing heat like no other. I just don't understand how they made a game look so good on the hardware. Damn.

Graphically it looks insane. As a "story" trailer, it looks okay. I don't play games just to be amazed by their graphics.

Also the fact that ND are absolutely terrible at making gameplay that isn't boring out of the arse doesn't inspire me with a lot of confidence.

Did you play the beta?

There's only three things I didn't like.

Young Drake looks a bit too different from Uncharted 3.
The old dude's hair looks a bit naff.
And there's still some edge sharpening.

Young Drake is probably a younger Drake is probably a younger Drake than the one in 3. Kids do look different depending on their age.

As you probably know, when it comes to tech, developers have to make different choices that need to fit the type of game they're making. For example, you can't have the same level of detail seen in The Order in an open world game on comparable level of hardware, but that doesn't mean that TO is doing more than any open world game. They are simply using the same or comparable resources in a different way, because the game design and hw limitations require it. U4 tech is top notch, but that doesn't make other top notch games like The Order, Battlefront, The Witcher 3, Quantum Break, AC Unity/Syndicate, etc worse. They're just using the same/similar resources in a different way, to achieve different things. Sometimes they do some of it wrong (Unity's crowds that destroy the frame rate for no real reason), other times they do everything stunningly right (Battlefront, a 60fps game even on consoles with that level of tech). Some of them are doing some things better, while others achieve better results at rendering other stuff (e.g. Uncharted's character models are better but Unity has a better global lighting algorithm and Battlefront has the best textures), and all of them have limits but ultimately they're all in the same ballpark for different reasons.

There is stuff considerably above these games, like the Kite tech demo, which features a 100km2 map and unparalleled rendering techniques, but that thing runs on a Titan X/980ti.

LOL that expression can't be real hahahaha

I was waiting for this

That's very true. But what impresses me is how open several of these locations seem to be and still look that goddamn good. QB looks stellar too, but it's more close quarters compared to U4 here and i'd definitely say U4 looks a whole lot better. But then again, we're comparing two completely different games, different developers, different engines, different hardware etc. I'm a big Xbox fan, always prefered it over PS myself, but i have to admit that ND always manages to blow me out of my chair and no other developer ever does that for me. In a graphical way that is. When i see U4 it makes me wish even more that ROTTR had been current gen only, because you simply see it's cross-gen in the bigger hub areas and nowhere in these U4 videos do i see something that a PS3 could do.

I agree though that it doesn't make any of the games you mentioned worse though. They are great in their own ways for sure.
