Game is a stuttering mess when playing and locked 60fps in replays. Makes perfect sense. Still, the most innovative shooter in years indeed.

Picking guns out of the air is just the best.

Yeah...I wasn't a fan. Backed it for $15, but still felt that it was too much for what I got. Beat the single player in two hours, tried some of the challenge mode but it looks like it's just the same levels with a few things changed and I'm not really interested in that. Also, I felt the game needed more than just the one main mechanic to carry it through.
The new mechanic is only for about four stages and has been done in other games before
.

The audio design is absolutely horrific for someone with sensitivity to sharp noises. Several restarts in a row and it feels like I'm getting stabbed in the ear each time (elevator pitch was especially bad for this, had to stop playing it for a bit).

I wanted to like this game, since I loved the original demo...but I'm not happy with the final product. If you are, fantastic, but I wont look back on this game fondly.

Man, are you people rushing through? I've played almost 4 hours and am probably towards the end.

I love the game and I don't really see how the main campaign could take someone much more than it took me (a bit under two hours).

That's not me bragging or something, it's just that the main campaign isn't that long and there isn't much there in terms of exploring the levels or something. Now, if you're counting spending a whole bunch of time poking around the OS interface, I can understand it better. I just mean playing through the game itself.

I just completed it. Loved it. Don't want to leave.

I may have played a few levels more than a few times to get cool replays :p

dang, this game is sick as hell.
just played the first little bit of it.

I didn't realize I had to create a Killstagram account until I had already uploaded a few replays in the game. I take it those are just kind of gone now?

Edit: It took me far too long to realize you had to hold down space for a slow-mo jump.

Yea, I beat the game at exactly 2 hours. There's a bunch of weird stuff in the rest of the menu to check out tho. And of course, endless mode and challenges should be pretty fun as well. I do wish the story was longer or had a better pay off. But it's such a fun interesting game that I def recommend it to people for current price.

I saw that too. Also don't know where to get the Alpha. Do they mean the prototype/game jam version or did kickstarter backers get an Alpha?

I think it's $200+ backers iirc?

Meaning yeah, we need to actually find someone in here who backed $200+

and lets not say the location on here directly yet, cause screw a redditor getting whatever the reward is off of us :V

oh btw those with performance issues

setting Shadows to LOW fixed everything.

shadows are fucked. game looks the same. must be a bug

uh oh, game won't launch correctly on OSX now, steam'll show it as running but the app won't run (or if it does it crashes immediately and with no popup)

wheeee time to troubleshoot, boy do I love mac games :p

welp already outa ideas, over to windows we goooooooooooo

I actually didn't even know about this game, but I just got it. Been playing for the last 15 mins, it's a very interesting concept. I can't wait until I get further into the game to see what they throw at me.

I keep on forgetting that you can jump. Haven't really found much of a use for it.

since time flows normally, for the vast majority of situations it is useless outside of say, jumping over tables and such.

Landing on someones head kills em like a 2d game :V

Seek victory, not fairness
Fun stuff. I think it could have used more special moves though, I found my expression was a bit limited. Easy enough to expand on in the future I guess. Come to think of it, Superhot mode would be a fantastic mod for Die By The Sword.

The 45 degree diagonal scanline-ish effect they overlay on everything is a bit unpleasant at 4k. Glad they had an option to turn off CA at least.

If you hold space/jump down it stays in slow mo.

Argh, that would have been good to know.

No idea how to reach the secret in level 20. I think I know part of it
climbing the obelisk
but once I'm there I don't know what to do next.

Re-beat the campaign tonight then dove into unlocking some of the Endless levels.

After that, I hit up the first Challenge
Katana only
. That was really fun to play through. The next one (
AD2013
) took me by surprise. I guess I overlooked it during my review. That is a really fun Challenge, a great throwback and should not be overlooked.

Anyone have the Mac version? How's it running on OS X? That's the only way I can play the game right now, and I really want to. Looks great.

Would my MBP be able to run it?

I`m on a Mac Mini 2014 i5 with Intel Iris and it runs ok. You should be fine.

Wouldn't say I was no :/
Finished it last night in bout 2 hours.

Guessing how difficult it is is playing a part in the varying lengths? I didn't have much trouble in many stages

whoops just spent a half hour catching up on the campaign on my PC, and then another half hour trying to make a cool replay happen, but then it didn't save noooo... but I get to try again now yay!

Does anyone know what the secret achievements are? Just wondering if they are story related, because it looks like the ahievements were activated after I had finished the story.

I wouldn't fret about the campaign being short - which it really is. There are reasons to replay the campaign levels in different configurations/hard mode, and the Endless and Challenge modes are where the game is really at.

Having some issues with the secrets on Ballro, Hacker and Lobby. Anyone got them and can offer any hints? I know about
the climbing obelisk
in Ballro but not where to go from there.
