Gen 3 went new games -> remakes -> third version
tbh this is still my favorite order, it gives us a good break between the new game and the third version
I don't think a 3rd version is needed anymore. We have remakes that revisit each region.

8 gym formula you mean. How about something space based?
I know its off the rails but how about floating about protecting the galaxy with your pokemon?
I think I want the 6 gym formula disguising a little bit.
This isn't X2/Y2. For the past 2 generations they have revealed a new Pokémon the same year a new generation is revealed. Some Pokemon generations only last 3 years. Also the anime never jumps ahead of releases and they are already half a year into their Z season. It also makes little sense to give them a title that has no relation to X/Y. Now what I think is plausible is that they could do a Kanto/Johto situation where the regions are connected and you can travel between the two. Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon kinda invoke Gen 2's colors and cover legendaries. Every other gen except Gen 2 has had a red/blue version incorporated into the cover legendaries.
I don't think a 3rd version is needed anymore. We have remakes that revisit each region.
I could see that. If you consider Gen 2 an expansion of sorts to gen 1, it could easily happen again here.Yup, I think this is gonna be the Gold/Silver "Gen 7". Lots of Gen 6 Pokemon, but some old ones and some brand new (100ish?) Gen 7 Pokemon as well.
8 gym formula you mean.
I still think it'll be gen 6.5. Can't be disappointed with low expectations!

Add a proper pokémon league when you get 8 badges, with TOP16 eliminatories in a stadium. When you become champion you unlock the elite 4. Randomize the league so you can actually replay it for prizes.
Why is ORAS hated/disliked so much? I play gen 1, 2, and 3. I played their remakes besides ORAS. What did ORAS do wrong compared to the other remakes?
Nothing. It's what you would expect from a remake. If you base your opinion solely on whether it has a Battle Frontier or not, you will be disappointed. Why is ORAS hated/disliked so much? It would be funny, but we all know it's going to be a 3DS game.Really hope it's for NX just to see minds explode.

If Nintendo was smart, this would be an NX title.
But they rather cash in on a 3DS title.

It lacked the Battle Frontier
That is all. That is the main reason people hate on it, because it "removes important features"

Don't forget that it's also ridiculously easy. Turning off exp share does nothing but make you grind more.
Or you could turn it off, not grind and have more of a challenge?Don't forget that it's also ridiculously easy. Turning off exp share does nothing but make you grind more.

If it's Gen VI, which is looking likely, then moving it to NX would be horrific. Also, releasing it at launch of a console would result in the worst selling generation

It would help the console. But Game Freak care more about what would help Pokémon and putting it on NX would hinder Pokémon.I know all main pokmon games are supposed to be handheld only and we don't know what nx is but would it not help that console?
It actually gives a reason to own a new console as opposed to how they did this time round which was "eventually" give a reason to own a 3ds or wii u.
I have had a 3ds since launch so its not like I sat waiting for the good games to come out as I knew they would.
The difficulty of Gen 6 games when you turn off the Exp. Share is pretty average for the series. Either people just grew up or didn't know you could turn it off.So turning off EXP share makes it like the originals? It is pokemon, of course you need to grind, the reason the exp share is in the game in the first place is to give the player the option.
You will regret saying that in 7 hoursI find it doubtful they'd announce an NX game before the system is formally unveiled.

GameFreak is a 3rd party, so moving consoles is completely irrelevant to them, all that matters is software sales. Nintendo would love to have a Pokémon game at launch, but while they may be the publisher and a partial owner of the IP, they don't get to dictate these kinds of things to GameFreak.I know all main pokmon games are supposed to be handheld only and we don't know what nx is but would it not help that console?

I agree that Gen 6 games are too easy but if you're going to turn the exp share off then why in the world would you grind to compensate for that?
TPC/Game Freak have been sometimes contrary to Nintendo's plans & timings. I.E. doing mobile stuff before Nintendo. It's probably 99% certain to be a 3DS title but they may yet surprise us.
EDIT: or maybe Sun is 3DS & Moon is NX. Like how the 1st Mystery Dungeon was cross-gen.
Because you cant go through the 6th gym with a Team of level 5 Pokémon?
You still have to be at a certain level at least to go trough the game. EXP share just cuts away the time you would take grind to get there. Turning it off doesn't make the battles more challenging. Wich is what most people talk about when they say the games are too easy.
So, are we getting a full fledged 3D title this time, with a real scale, or are we getting top down, with 2D roots but 3D graphics ?
Yeah i have played since gen 1 so I agree that without exp share its pretty much the same, thats why the options was good. The difficulty of Gen 6 games when you turn off the Exp. Share is pretty average for the series. Either people just grew up or didn't know you could turn it off.
I can't really recall any time I felt like I had to grind in a Pokemon game. But I was never the kind of player that would try to incorporate a freshly caught Pokemon more than half way through the campaign, which might explain it.
Got back and play the early games, they're no harder than the latest gen.Because you cant go through the 6th gym with a Team of level 5 Pokémon?

I disagree. Gen 6 is way easier.Got back and play the early games, they're no harder than the latest gen.
Pokemon will probably always be top down. So, are we getting a full fledged 3D title this time, with a real scale, or are we getting top down, with 2D roots but 3D graphics ?
Let's not get into this crap again. A 3D game is a 3D game.
but I'll take it. It's the 2nd wild shiny I've ever encountered. The first one was a Tympole.
I just played through Omega Ruby a couple of weeks ago (I beat Alpha when it came out) and I've been working on filling out my Pokedex. I have everything up to 349 and have 579/721 caught. I want to play SFV and FE Fates, but I just keep going back to Pokemon.
I just caught a shiny Medicham while leveling Pokemon in Victory Road today. Not exactly my favorite Pokemon, but I'll take it. It's the 2nd wild shiny I've ever encountered. The first one was a Tympole.
Eh, its not crap. D/P/P to B/W as seen a transition in term of graphics, even thought it wasnt a big one.
As for "a 3D game is a 3D game", do you consider a Link Between Worlds and Majora's Mask 3D to be the same ?
Do I need to post those screenshots proving it yet again?
It's a 3D game. Deal with it.
