Thread turned into a "what I hope it will be" so I'll throw my hopes in here.

give me a silver like experience. Let me play in a whole new country/continent and after finishing the main story you go back to kalos to finish the story and get answers to open questions..

This isn't X2/Y2. For the past 2 generations they have revealed a new Pokémon the same year a new generation is revealed. Some Pokemon generations only last 3 years. Also the anime never jumps ahead of releases and they are already half a year into their Z season. It also makes little sense to give them a title that has no relation to X/Y. Now what I think is plausible is that they could do a Kanto/Johto situation where the regions are connected and you can travel between the two. Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon kinda invoke Gen 2's colors and cover legendaries. Every other gen except Gen 2 has had a red/blue version incorporated into the cover legendaries.

Yup, I think this is gonna be the Gold/Silver "Gen 7". Lots of Gen 6 Pokemon, but some old ones and some brand new (100ish?) Gen 7 Pokemon as well.

All I want for pokemon is for them to do more than the little story with 8 badges and the Elite 4.

Literally the perfect Pokemon game would be a console game where you can go to all of the regions and battle every gym leader and elite 4 member from Gen 1 - Gen 6. If a game like Witcher 3 and MGSV can be made then this surely is a possibility right.

I could see that. If you consider Gen 2 an expansion of sorts to gen 1, it could easily happen again here.

8 gym formula you mean.

I still think it'll be gen 6.5. Can't be disappointed with low expectations!

Oops my mistake.

Its early morning here and I haven't woke up yet.
That and the fact I just remember trying to get through the gyms as fast as I can.

I honestly probably couldn't recite the gyms and leaders of any pokemon game 0_o

Gen 6 had a small pool of new Pokemon though. If this one has "only" 100ish new ones the comparison with gen 2 would kinda fall flat.

Add a proper pokémon league when you get 8 badges, with TOP16 eliminatories in a stadium. When you become champion you unlock the elite 4. Randomize the league so you can actually replay it for prizes.

Why is ORAS hated/disliked so much? I play gen 1, 2, and 3. I played their remakes besides ORAS. What did ORAS do wrong compared to the other remakes?

Nothing. It's what you would expect from a remake. If you base your opinion solely on whether it has a Battle Frontier or not, you will be disappointed.

I hope so! Gold/silver are still by far the best entries in the series imo, and they even are in my top 10 best games ever made!

It lacked the Battle Frontier

That is all. That is the main reason people hate on it, because it "removes important features"

If Nintendo was smart, this would be an NX title.

But they rather cash in on a 3DS title.

If it's Gen VI, which is looking likely, then moving it to NX would be horrific. Also, releasing it at launch of a console would result in the worst selling generation

Don't forget that it's also ridiculously easy. Turning off exp share does nothing but make you grind more.

So turning off EXP share makes it like the originals? It is pokemon, of course you need to grind, the reason the exp share is in the game in the first place is to give the player the option.

Or you could turn it off, not grind and have more of a challenge?

I agree that Gen 6 games are too easy but if you're going to turn the exp share off then why in the world would you grind to compensate for that?

I know all main pokmon games are supposed to be handheld only and we don't know what nx is but would it not help that console?

It actually gives a reason to own a new console as opposed to how they did this time round which was "eventually" give a reason to own a 3ds or wii u.

I have had a 3ds since launch so its not like I sat waiting for the good games to come out as I knew they would.

Is the only remake who has a seriuos cut offs (the post game of Emerald, and also its better storyline) and less adds. Wow like Gen3!

It would help the console. But Game Freak care more about what would help Pokémon and putting it on NX would hinder Pokémon.

The difficulty of Gen 6 games when you turn off the Exp. Share is pretty average for the series. Either people just grew up or didn't know you could turn it off.

I can't really recall any time I felt like I had to grind in a Pokemon game. But I was never the kind of player that would try to incorporate a freshly caught Pokemon more than half way through the campaign, which might explain it.

Releasing games usually selling millions unto a platform with not enough millions to meet the usual number is not being smart.

Helping a new console is a thing, half killing your franchise is another.

I find it doubtful they'd announce an NX game before the system is formally unveiled.

TPC/Game Freak have been sometimes contrary to Nintendo's plans & timings. I.E. doing mobile stuff before Nintendo. It's probably 99% certain to be a 3DS title but they may yet surprise us.

EDIT: or maybe Sun is 3DS & Moon is NX. Like how the 1st Mystery Dungeon was cross-gen.

GameFreak is a 3rd party, so moving consoles is completely irrelevant to them, all that matters is software sales. Nintendo would love to have a Pokémon game at launch, but while they may be the publisher and a partial owner of the IP, they don't get to dictate these kinds of things to GameFreak.

I just played through Omega Ruby a couple of weeks ago (I beat Alpha when it came out) and I've been working on filling out my Pokedex. I have everything up to 349 and have 579/721 caught. I want to play SFV and FE Fates, but I just keep going back to Pokemon.

I just caught a shiny Medicham while leveling Pokemon in Victory Road today. Not exactly my favorite Pokemon, but I'll take it. It's the 2nd wild shiny I've ever encountered. The first one was a Tympole.

Because you cant go through the 6th gym with a Team of level 5 Pokémon?
You still have to be at a certain level at least to go trough the game. EXP share just cuts away the time you would take grind to get there. Turning it off doesn't make the battles more challenging. Wich is what most people talk about when they say the games are too easy.

I don't think I've ever had to grind in a Pokemon game, I just rotate the 6 Pokemon on my team constantly to keep them at equal level.

That won't happen either for compatibility reasons.

This will NOT be a NX game

Perhaps, but the games haven't got "easier", you've just got older.

I see this a lot with Nintendo titles, people saying they have got easier when that's not true, people have just got more skilled. Take Super Mario Land, as a kid I found that game hard as hell. I replayed it last year for the first time in 17 years and completed it in half an hour only losing one life.

Yeah i have played since gen 1 so I agree that without exp share its pretty much the same, thats why the options was good.

I can't really recall any time I felt like I had to grind in a Pokemon game. But I was never the kind of player that would try to incorporate a freshly caught Pokemon more than half way through the campaign, which might explain it.

You only really need to grind once every 3 or so gyms if you have a full team of 6 otherwise there really isn't even a need to grind, I think most people just had 5 pokemon and a hm slave in the originals and this greatly reduces the need to grind imo. One pokemon can make a huge difference but like i said Exp share off = originals difficulty and Exp share on is optional and obviously easier.

Got back and play the early games, they're no harder than the latest gen.

Huh?!?

It's an RPG. I freely admit Pokémon is to the easy end of the scale but if you have to grind in Pokémon surely that means it was too hard for you?

Like how else do you think they could add difficulty? Of course you can trivialise it by grinding, that's true for most if not all RPGs.

Got back and play the early games, they're no harder than the latest gen.
I disagree. Gen 6 is way easier.

Even with some other factors there's no way that could have happened without the difficulty drop.

Let's not get into this crap again. A 3D game is a 3D game.

Eh, its not crap. D/P/P to B/W as seen a transition in term of graphics, even thought it wasnt a big one.
As for "a 3D game is a 3D game", do you consider a Link Between Worlds and Majora's Mask 3D to be the same ?

Congrats!

I think I'm going to get a living Dex ready to import into Moon/Sun. I filled out my Dex completely in Alpha Sapphire, but traded some of them away and didn't keep copies of their unevolved forms.

Do I need to post those screenshots proving it yet again?

It's a 3D game. Deal with it.

It plays largely in a 2d plane. It's a 2d game for all the same reasons a link between worlds is. Id actually say its 2.5d but still.

Using models and having a camera which can change elevations and position based on where the character is standing feels like it isn't enough to me.
