torn between not feeling like playing because of RQs and what not, and not wanting to be left behind. But not gonna force myself, especially since ill never be that good anyway, hopefully Capcom comes up with a solution sooner rather than later. And hopefully Alex and the 8 peep lobby come out soon, thats where the real fun will be

Just play Casuals. No RQs or at least they are rare and you still get exp and FM from it.

Is there anywhere where I can see my win percentage? Total hours played?
The stats in my Fighter Profile seem really lacking, and two of the tabs are greyed out, anyone know the deal with that?

Those greyed out tabs are probably coming in March and other one is most likely for daily challenges.

How are you guys on PC handling the vsync issue?

Off? On? Some weird GPU control panel business?

Is there any way to disable the in-game vsync with the Nvidia control panel (what I'm doing now) but also prevent tearing (with D3Doverrider, for example) while maintaining some kind of reduced input lag?

I want to have my cake and eat it too. Or find some middle ground solution.

Get a higher refresh monitor. I'm on g-sync where there's no tearing but even a regular 144hz monitor significantly reduces the amount of visible tearing with v-sync off when you operate at the higher refresh rate.

As for turning off the game's native v-sync add these two lines into Engine.ini in your appdata folder (user folder/AppData/Local/StreetFighterV/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor/Engine.ini).

Code:
[SystemSettings]
r.VSync=0

For other solutions to reduce input lag check out this article: http://www.displaylag.com/reduce-input-lag-in-pc-games-the-definitive-guide/
It shows a nice comparison of all solutions at the bottom with USF4.

USF4's in-game v-sync had slightly higher input lag than doing it through the drivers. No idea on how it is in SFV, though, but I doubt it will be anywhere near as significant of a difference as turning v-sync off (hence the getting a better monitor suggestion).

I just got ragequitted on by someone called "VanDykeBrown". You'd think someone who enjoys Ross would be zen enough to take the loss. I guess someone has yet to become a man that can take a setback.

I am kinda tired of getting ripped of by Capcom because they take weeks to come up with a ragequitting solution that should have been in the game on launch.

Does quick rise not always happen at the exact same time? Some of my training mode setups don't work against real people, eventhough they do use quick rise as well.

Some characters quick-rise at different speeds iirc.

Could be wrong, tho.

Ranked is draining my will to live at times. At Super/Ultra Silver ranks you lose so many points whenever you lose and just don't get enough points when you win due to lack of players at higher ranks. Nothing like losing a half hours work in one match when a laggy Ryu from Mexico teleporting like Bison land his crossup.

Have you practiced against both normal recovery and back recovery? Could possibly just be mistiming it too. Still wondering if some characters have different recovery on wakeup.

Playing against sim feels like I'm fighting a marvel character man. I'm just lost at what to do

I feel you. Sometimes I just don't know when I should attack, or even feels there's an opening for myself.

I've always had trouble against him in every game, but this version just completely destroys me more than ever.

Man, Bronze league is so random.

One time I get this Zangief who is like "I have no idea what I'm doing": he didn't attempt a single command grab (or I guess he missed the inputs), apart from the easy half-circle one where Gief walks towards the opponent. Those ones he telegraphed from very far away so I had no trouble Spiral Arrowing through them. The guy just seemed utterly confused at how to play Gief/the game, to the point where I assumed he had made his way to Bronze League through rage-quitting and thought he would RQ against me. But nope, he took his bodying fair and square.

Then I proceeded to get completely bodied by 2 Nashes. Holy crap am I useless against decent Nashes.

Then I bodied a Rashid, even though I usually have trouble against Rashid. To be fair, that one might have been because of lag. He was teleporting around quite a bit on my end, and I imagine it must have been worse on his.

well dont forget LP isnt chracter based, he might have gotten to bronze with someone else

Just beat a 3100 LP Karin player in Casuals. No points, but it was so satisfying. I got hit by a couple of sweeps. Then I decided to put myself in the same situation where he would want to throw out a sweep. I blocked it and tried to counter sweep which failed and I got swept again. Then I remembered how I practiced this punish and I found EX tatsu to be the easiest punish for me. I had at least 2 bars or more so meter wasn't an issue. Put myself in the same situation again and punished block sweep with EX tatsu. I landed it one more time and still had 1 and half bars I think and the dude wanted no part of going for random sweeps anymore.

FUCK YOU KARIN, YOU THINK THAT SHIT IS FREE. IT ISN'T FREE. CHUN, YOU"RE NEXT.

Right, but usually when people get to 500+ LP, they have a modicum of understanding of how the game and well-known archetypes like Zangief play. This guy played like he'd never played SF before.

How do people decide which character to focus on when learning? I've finally managed to try everyone in training mode, and that's helped me filter out a bunch of characters that don't really suit me, but I'm still left with 8 characters that I like. :p

Karin's laugh is the reason I play Karin. That was my decision making process.

I usually pick the one that puts out earliest after a few dates:p

I just go into training with the character I'm interested in, figure out their crush counters, target combos, and get a good look at all their normals.
I also look at combo videos to see what's possible, then I head straight to online matches. :V

I posted this in the arcade stick mod thread but just in case somebody knows here.

Hey guys quick question:

I was hoping if I could slightly extend the height of my joystick. Is there any simple mod out there that I could buy that could extend the length of the shaft? Maybe something where I can unscrew the ball, screw in the extender and then screw the ball back on top?

Hopefully I don't have to purchase an entirely new square-gate joystick just because I need a quarter inch height extension.

How is this game on PC? Is it OK with the xbone controller?

It's cheaper on PC than PS4 so I'm not sure what platforms best to get it on.
