Snes games only on new 3ds? Why? because the buttons are the same colour? And they're not even cross-buy. Nintendo shafting their early adopters again.

Just wait until they ask you to rebuy the same roms, again, on the NX.

If they don't come up with a PSN-like account system then the n3DS is my last Nintendo console, tbh. The NX doesn't interest me much and I'm just buying 3DS games (well, not much these days) because I own the system.

Anyone who's tried emulating knows how terrible the regular 3DS is. SNES games don't run properly on the 3DS, period. It would be appalling for Nintendo to release virtual console games that run at 10fps with music stutters.

In for Super Metroid and EarthBound. Been wanting a (official) way to play that on a portable for a while. EarthBound's GBA port was pretty shitty.

No reason to buy a New 3DS for these ports then. Several other devices can do it just fine and for cheaper.

Why are people handwaving M2's 3D Classics efforts?

Those run in 3D and have extra modes and features. They're also only $7

Nintendo wants to keep re-releasing games while retaining the prices, so it's a bit frustrating

Why do people keep buying these things when they are locked to that system and generation. I'm so done with vc.

Why did people buy anything digital on PS3/360? Despite not being "locked", 99.9% did not carry over to the PS4/X1. Beyond that, it's possible to transfer purchases to another system. It's even possible to recover purchases from a lost system, though it takes going through CS to do it.

Any word when this will hit EU?

No idea. I'm in NA.

This should have been available at the N3DS's launch. And it should be cross-buy with Wii U SNES games. Instead it is all very much "too little, too late" for too much extra money.

My N3DS has been running homebrew for quite some time now, and in addition to letting me play my SNES collection in an emulator at a smooth 60fps with many other options, I also can play 3DS games from any region. So why on earth would I, or anyone else, give all that up just to pay extra money for a dozen or so SNES games that trickle out over the next weeks?

This is 2016. Apple and Google have cross buy and are dominating Nintendo and yet Nintendo wants you to buy it again and again and again and again. That's called shitty customer service.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much

The 3DS is not powerful enough to run Nintendo's emulators, not without significant effort anyway. They would rather just make it an exclusive feature for N3DS and not have to bother putting man-hours into running it on the weaker machine.

Hopefully they add GBA support in the future too, now that they are willing to ignore original hardware owners.

I had no idea 3DS was such a weak piece of shit.

Because the 3DS CPU isn't powerful enough. I swear a mod needs to put this in the OP or something.

$11.29 Canadian for Super Mario World, That's $1 more after exchange.

I would love to know how Nintendo is converting the USD to CAD where they always charge us more.

Will people be defending the lack of cross buy in this thread? Or should I look for that kind of entertainment elsewhere?

Are you for real? 99% of 3DS owners don't have homebrew installed. 99% of 3DS owners don't own original SNES carts and the ability to rip them to play on their systems.

Not buying them again when I already owned most on Wii and upgraded them into inferior looking versions on Wii U.

Does anybody have these games on wii-u?
Did they make the 3DS versions a $1.00 or free?

This is pretty cool. I never really looked into what was available on the eshop so I was kinda surprised/disappointed when I bought my N3DS a couple months ago and only saw NES and GB/GBC games. Will definitely grab Earthbound.

Also, was Earthbound Beginnings a straight up Wii U port or just the GameBoy version running on VC? I'd love to play that one as well but I have no idea how likely it is that they'll bring it over to 3DS.

What are you using? It seems like most of the snes games I wanting to run dont run that well like super mario rpg, star fox, sefret of mana 2, etc.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
LOL at them trying to charge full price for these again. Not a chance I buy any of them full price.

The lack of cross-buy is ridiculous but guess what? I'm buying a bunch of these, because playing SNES games on my 3DS is going to be awesome and I'm a sucker for these classics.
