Dark Chronicle is fantastic, playing it right now again on PS4 and I'm having as much fun as when I played it the first time.

It's a relatively slow Action RPG with mostly one on one fights in randomly generated dungeons. Each enemy does a different couple of moves and has different weaknesses. They're relatively easy to beat, but there are some difficulty spikes where you have to be careful (defend some more). You can fight as one of the two main characters or as their 'special forms' which is either a mech or as a monster. Each has their pros and cons and a different fighting style. Both main characters have two weapons, ranged / close.

You don't walk around on an open world map, but there are like 8 or so very different regions that consist of a town, a dungeon, a 'town building area' and / or a 'future town area' In a region the parts are interconnected. You move from region to region by selecting them on the world map.

By building the town or buildings of the town building area (present time), you change the future. Building blocks are found in the dungeons. There's weapon crafting (upgrading weapons, elements of weapons, crafting new weapons), optional golf minigame, optional fishing.

Until this game back then, I mostly played turn based RPG's and this one introduced me to action RPG's.
Thank you for the insight.

I might decide to get this prior to the sale finishing. It LOOKS really good but I was just worried if I could stomach another long rpg as I just finished investing 95 hours into cyber sleuth -.-

Definitely on my radar.

Thanks again

Oh man. I just bought Trails of Cold Steel yesterday, I figured there was no way it would go on sale anytime soon as it hasn't even been out for 2 months. Pretty annoying, £15 wasted... Great sale overall though.

Yeah, the issue is I'm not finding too much (official) info on it myself. Would be nice to have a list of games that are and aren't fixed over here. :s

It would be nice if Sony could make the patch notes visible (outside of buying the game!)..
I'm picking up Dark Cloud anyway, seems maybe safe, I'll post here with the patch notes when it's downloaded on my slow ass connection.

I don't care about 50 vs 60hz. Still re-play my PAL PS2 games to this day without being bothered by it.

Might pick up Phantom Pain, idk.

It's worse on PS4 than it is on PS2 as the PS4 only outputs at 60hz. It ends up having to repeat frames and judders because of it.

Tearaway.... vita or ps4?
It also smells it will be part of PSN+ some day so not sure if buy it.

I also want to buy Tearaway on Vita. But I am not desperate to l play it (got a backlog of games). I think it will go on PS+ so I'll wait it out.

Nice sale. But I still refuse to buy any EU version of the PS2-PS4 games. Not until we get a native 60Hz version. Such a shame.

Every Star Wars game got a 60Hz patch a month ago so check out if the game you're interested in got one cause it very likely may have.

I'd vote for the PS4 version. Looks and plays great, the new PS4 areas/puzzles don't feel like they were done last minute. Besides the Vita one is significantly older so it has a bigger chance to appear in PS+.

The PS2 games I wanna know about are Arc the Lad and Dark Chronicles.

Dark Cloud and Rogue Galaxy (though I'm not entirely sure on those either.... :/ ) seem to be fine now but I'm not finding anything on those former ones

Yeah, even googling specific names isn't returning too much, I wish they did like Nintendo and say if it's 60Hz or not.

I'm sticking to the US store for any PS2 stuff on sale to be safe.

GTA trilogy is on sale but the individual games aren't, which is a bit shit. I only want Vice City really. Not sure I'll get anything in this sale.

Talos Principle and Steins;Gate are both on sale for people who haven't picked those up yet though, they're both incredible.

Played and finished it on the PS3 but I do not want <30fps for a port. Is that still present?

Looks like you might want to avoid it I'm afraid.

I personally played through it on PS4 and had no problems, but I also didn't mind the last gen port.

Ye, 30 with dips. Was a pretty lazy port tbh, but it's not horrendous, I wouldn't bother rebuying if you had already played through.

Yup. Sleeping Dogs and Saints Row remakes are in the same boat where I love the games so much that I platinumed them, but I can't recommend the games to anyone.

Damn.

Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition PS4 for 10 bucks.

Hard to resist. Is the performance still abysmal?

It's a good looking game which runs at 30fps with very occasional dips. I think I noticed slowdown literally twice in the whole game, but generally speaking I'm not very sensitive to it. If you like the game I'd say the port is fine, and it certainly doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Saints Row IV.

So this site is basically a PS Store Keepa, interesting.

PS4
- Akiba's Trip 14,99€ (-70%)
- Borderlands THC €24,99 (-58%)

PSVita
- Steins;Gate €14,99 (-50%)
- DanganRonpa Another Episode €17,99 (-55%)

I'm screwed.

Well I created a thread on it, hope I get some info on things through it.

Got Unfished Swan and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, there's a few great deals here but I couldn't find a that much that appealed to me.

As someone who is currently waiting for their Vita to arrive in the post any minute now, seeing P4G on sale couldn't have been timed any better.

Heard great things about Danganronpa as well. Does GAF have any recommendations on which one to pick up?

similar situation. Huge backlog and i want to give some life to my Vita too....

but it seems ps4 is the better version plus extra content..... still time to think about it, offer lasts until April 6th.

Evil within is tempting too, but heard ps4 performance is really bad.

The complaints about the PAL PS2 games on PS4 are so overstated. I'd reckon most of the people complaining haven't even seen one, and are waxing over the technicalities alone. The worst problems with the PS2 games affect all versions -- like the slightly lower framerate in Dark Chronicle compared to the PS2 original. I've yet to encounter anything in a 50Hz game that has negatively affected my play sessions, and I have more than one PS2 platinum trophy. And they're using the PAL versions because they have EFIGS translations.

There's so much I want to get on this sale. I'm hurting bad.

I was thinking about getting this too. And Resident Evil Revelations 2. And MGSV. Can't decide, probably end up getting nothing.

Yup, also thought about RE Revelations 2, for vita. If it was cross buy i'd already had bought it. I am sure will be discounted more times so will wait until i clear my backlog.... and finish the first one on 3DS.
Also Until Dawn is into consideration but discount is not that big. So no urge to buy it right now.

Well, putting aside that I disagree with you on the complaints being overstated, it would be nice if you could share the current status of your PS2 games since you've clearly played them a lot. At least a few of them seemingly received 60Hz patches later on.
