Nights of Azure |OT| Star Crossed (Lesbian) Lovers

In fairness, people somehow thought Kanji from Persona was progressive. When it comes to anime games, the bar for progressiveness is pretty low
Doesn't help that it seems CERO gets in the way of exploring homosexuality lest you get a higher rating IIRC. Persona 2 was more progressive with Jun as I recall and that got dialed back on PSP.

I hate these rating boards, they all have some dumb hang up.

The story is about the lesbians and it's quite clear from the beginning lol
At least, I liked the way they did it. From what I could understand from the JP version anyway.

I went into Drakengard 3 with absolutely rock bottom expectations given the reviews and performance issues but was surprised to actually enjoy it. Hopefully this will be better though, because there's some truly awful shit in Drakengard.

Patiently awaiting this Thursday for when I expect my order to arrive a day early. It's also the last day of shit my job will fling at me for a while so it'll be a nice reward.

Trust me, this runs and plays much better than Drakengard 3.

Though, the end boss of Drakengard 3 will go down in history as one of the biggest trolls I ever met.

"Nights of Azure is a tragic tale of two friends faced with impossible decisions that will test their loyalty to their quest and to each other""

Gust has yet to have any games on PC. Hopefully TK and NISA can move to remedy that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Gust's president, when told about PC gaming's dominance in the west, asked why westerners are into eroge?

IE, don't expect Gust on PC anytime soon when the man in charge subscribes to that stupid/arcane "PC = Eroge" belief.

And honestly, there is the other matter in that a PC port, if it happened, would either be done by TK, who stubbornly refuse to improve (Though I heard Arslan on PC was ok-ish), or NISA, who are inexperienced.

While I won't be getting this right away as I am waiting for them to bring over the Vita version, I'm happy this is coming over :D!

Hope that PS4 owners are happy with this title and that the interesting story is done well.

Gameplay looks like fun too, and this studio does a good job with combat systems (Ar No Surge Plus has a really fun combat system for example!).

This looks relevant to my interests. I want to hear good gameplay impressions and that the writing is good first though. A shame there seems to be no plans for a dub. Is this a worldwide release or is the English version coming later? It's not entirely clear to me when the English version is launching.

This is the Western English release, it came out in Japan last year. It's already out in NA and will be out in the EU on the 1st.

Whenever a game uses "middleware," I expect mediocrity. Just see how poor TLOU looks.
Sad this turned out to be a real time combat game (not a good one from the videos I've watched). First GUST game that I'm skipping sadly.

Really liked the look of the main character too.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I'm waiting for more impressions, but I think this looks great. I love the art, and the gameplay looks like a lot of fun. And the music I've heard is amazing. Could be a hidden gem. If nothing else, it might be the first Gust game that I actually like.

Or, at least... I hope it is.

I played a few hours of this. It's enjoyable, but way too easy so far. Hopefully that changes or the combat will likely end up feeling too repetitive and simple.

The interlude structure of this game does remind me of more recent Atelier games.

There's also a misspelled trophy name "chain begginer."

Sadly I needed a slot on my Gamefly queue for Dank Soles Tre so this will have to wait, but it looks great. Nice OT.

The combat is simple and straightforward, so don't expect getting technical.

The difficulty is one of the main complaints of the game. It's either too easy or freaking impossible. And I don't think you will meet the impossible enemies if you keep your level high enough until the end game.

Gust seems to have a real problem with balance. The difficulty of Ar no Surge was also hideously unbalanced. (Plus I never really got that battle system.)

Hearing that the combat is straightforward is actually a relief. I'm tired of every action game trying to be Devil May Cry. It's still fun to smack fools up the old fashioned way.

Incidentally this also makes the game sound more like Ys.

If it were like Y's itd be nice.

I ended up not getting too far in the import since I lost interest. I don't expect anything fancy, and mind you, my bar is musou, this is more shallow than that.

It's so simple it's like beginner's Action RPG or something.

None of my local Best Buys ordered this, so I guess I'll have to get it digitally if I bite. It looks pretty great!

There's a GiantBomb Quicklook of this up.

B) Why did you change your avatar back :(
Someone liked my Jeb avatar? All I heard was complaints.

They do a decent enough job with this in the Atelier games, at least until you break it with item crafting, but that's kind of the point of those games. Ar no Surge did suffer from those wild swings between difficulty levels making it hard to find a good balance.

They were really late even putting it on sale online. I was worried that my credit from them screwing my Fire Emblem order would expire before I could order the game.

I have a preorder from Best Buy and that shit is still in the "preparing" phase. How the hell hasn't it shipped yet? The game is out today...

Also this is the only time I've had this issue ordering from them. My games are always on time, but for some reason not this one.

I'll wait to find out how much they censored it.

If they were changed to just "friends" out of censorship protest I'll just ignore it.

Can I get a source link? Not saying I don't believe you, but for $60 I'd rather have proof.

EDIT: Did a quick google search and could not locate anything.

Here you go :)

– No censorship.
– Limited Edition available via NISA EU Store, costs £74.99.
– No PS3 and PS Vita releases, will persuade the team to look into PS Vita version again (the quality doesn’t look that nice though – personal opinion.)

Unless they changed something in the localization, it's never explicitly implied throughout the japanese version that they have a relationship beyond close friends or sisterly bond anyways.

There is only a single scene at the end that could be considered otherwise, but even that has "circumstances" surrounding it which make it ambiguous.

At best it's a yuri-esque atmosphere, and that still depends on the player's point of view. The developer actually commented that it's up for interpretation, so there's nothing really to censor.

I will be picking this game up sometime down the line, too much on my plate right now. Just wanted to drop in see some impressions and say good job on the OT.

Figured. Probably like Utena TV then at most.

Though that had some stuff way worse than implied yuri.

EDIT: And if I knew the game's setting Id have wanted an English dub after all. Ah well.
