The thing with doing a sun lion is, well
How different could it be from the fire lion we already have?

Well I mean, what else would be the mascots?

Lunaala could be Moon + Wing ("Luna" and "Ala" in spanish).
EDIT: Don't think it's really necessary to point it out, but Solgaleo has "Sol" which is Sun in spanish. Galeo means nothing as far as I'm aware, other than Galileo or something related to "Gale".
I jokingly put it into Google translate and it gave me "Giga History", so naturally someone's going to think this means the Gen 1 transfers get an exclusive Giga Evolution.Doubt it, as I think it'd have 地方 ("region") after it.
The person who posted the thread on 4chan thinks it might be a new gameplay mechanic or something along those lines---someone who knows Japanese better might know what the name might mean.
The legendaries are Permanent Primal Reversions of regular Pokémon confirmedThe thing with doing a sun lion is, well

The genus name Cirrhigaleus is derived from the Latin "cirrus" which means curl fringe and the Greek "galeo" meaning a shark. The species name asper is derived from Latin, meaning rough.
Can go back to the final Starter evolution's like Gen 1
I'm still rooting for Hawaii personally.The new games could be south of Kalos, so maybe its based in Spain.
Don't even joke about that.I jokingly put it into Google translate and it gave me "Giga History", so naturally someone's going to think this means the Gen 1 transfers get an exclusive Giga Evolution.
...although lately I'm not so sure Game Freak wouldn't do that.
Looking up Sun Shark brought up the Basking Shark aka the Sun-FishSOLGALEO --> SOL + GALEO
Sol (Spanish) = Sun
Galeo
So, it could be a Shark of the Sun, or something. Or Lion of the Sun xD.
LUNAALA --> LUNA + ALA
Luna (Spanish) = Moon
Ala
In Greek seems to mean, "defending man".
In Spanish means "wing"
In latin means "wing"
So, it could be somekind of Winged Pokemon which Protects or Defends something (Pokemon?)
Well I mean, what else would be the mascots?
BTW I hope Sun and Moon bring back legendary trios, was sorta a bummer that we only got an Uber one in XY (and Zygarde was freaking neutered too lol)
What... What did you expect? GameFreak to just skip out on Legendaries from now on?
Why would you think or hope that they'd suddenly stop making legendaries for good?
There are three starters and each are equal to one another
I just miss the days when Legendaries were special.
And no. I'm not one of those guys that think Pokemon was at its best in the old days. Sometimes I just feel like.... the last good stories involving Legendaries were Giratina, Reshiram and Zekrom.
My guess is that Gigareki is probably a combo of giga and gareki (rubble, apparently). Reminds me of gigalith.
Ash Greninja and Mega Charizard X/Y.
Nice names, but I need to see the designs.
In fact, the lack of any sort of gameplay images or footage is starting to worry me.

Leonala sounds like something I would kill in Monster Hunter

I hope Solgaleo is Fire/Fighting and a starter
...u wot m8? What's to worry about?Nice names, but I need to see the designs.

Wow, so, one generation ago? Alright.
So, if its indeed spanish
SOLGALEO = SUNSHARK
LUNAALA = MOONWING

Are you sure Solgaleo is not a fusion between Sun and Galileo? That's what came to my mind first.
If the region is based on Spain, then everything starts to make a lot of sense. This is just a theory for now, but they could be trying to replicate the Gold and Silver formula here:
- Having the game take place on a region right next to the one of the previous generation.
- Eventually allow players to visit the previous region. Kalos is already fully modeled, so that work is already done. This would also take care of the "no post-game!" complaint.
- The above would also allow the new Zygarde forms and plot to take place in Kalos, as well as continuing AZ's story and all that stuff about his Floette (remember, these two points are what lead people to believe we wouldn't get Gen VII yet. This makes it possible for everyone to have their cake and eat it too).
What do you guys think?
PS: If the new region really is Spain, then Portugal Battle Resort pls, Game Freak
As long as they aren't dragons again, I'm good. That was a great thing about Gen 6. Xerneas and Yveltal were such a breath of fresh air.
