It has been teased for a while now but one of the most popular RPGs and mobile game in recent years, Granblue Fantasy, is collaborating with one of SEGA's most popular franchises, Sakura Taisen.

This is the newest Sakura Taisen content in a while and we will get new fully voice segments and interactions between the main characters of Sakura Taisen 1-5: Sakura Shinguji, Erica Fontaine, Gemini Sunrise, Ichiro Ogami and more. I believe the only Sakura Taisen game to come to America is Sakura Taisen 5 with Gemini, so this will be the first English translate scenarios with character from Sakura Taisen 1-4.

Sakura, Erica, and Gemini are SR event characters that you can obtain in GranBlue Fantasy during the event for permanent use.

Sakura will be wind element, Erica will be light element, and Gemini will be fire element.

You will also be able to get SSR weapons from each of the main heroines, Sakura's Reiken Arataka, Erica's Rafael/Gabriel, and Gemini's Red Sun. (To Be Confirmed). Koubu also to be confirmed.

Character recruitment will vary depending on the character and the requirements will be posted and updated in the thread alongside their full portraits.

You should, it's a great time to start now that they included english and there is english player to play with.

I've been playing the game for over a year or so and it is only getting bigger and better in popularity and gameplay.

This is the first Sakura Taisen content in a long time. I like that these older IPs are being used like this and I hope we can get more Sakura Taisen in the future.

When I heard about this, I looked into Granblue Fantasy properly (only seen adverts before now).

Still not started it but I plan to soon so I can check out the event. Just for this

(not even played a Sakura Taisen game, I just like the characters from PxZ/PxZ2 and seeing the Ohayou vid with Erica)

I also enjoyed the SRPG and gameplay of the series, but mostly the koubu and robots.

Valkyria Chronicles was the closest franchise to be sort of like an evolution to sakura taisen I would love something like that.

Of course as everyone else i wanted a completely new Sakura Wars game but everything is welcome (with the exception of ero games )

Sakura Wars is one of the franchises that you play now and on the back of your mind you say "They don't create these kind of games anyone" :/
I Absolutely love the series and i wish some day the first 4 games come to the west.
I played all of them on dreamcast with a translation guide and i enjoyed all of them but for the full experience it needs to be localised xD

3 months ago, Feb (West release which will be most applicable for most people here probably). PxZ2.

Ah, I should explain...my HTC Desire 816 likes to install things on the internal memory which is 8GB...but half is taken up by the OS....and so I can't install or update anything at the moment...

Rooting would solve that problem though....especially if I root to Android 6.0, I could use my 64GB MicroSD card together with that paltry internal memory! I just need to find an option for OEM unlock, but no such luck and I've sort of pushed it to the back burner...but recent annoyances and now this is having me reconsider...

Nah the events in Granblue last a good amount and the unlock requirements for event characters are pretty easy.

If you start now you will have plenty of time to get at least the characters. More than a week.

Not sure about the weapons and summons if they do have summons too but it is a pretty good time to start now and get acclimated so you can enjoy the event for what it is.

You'll be able to at least get Sakura by placing her on your team & playing until she's permanently unlocked (very easy).

The other two might depend on how you manage your time. The game has so much content & the guide is so immense it took me a while to figure out how best to level up so that I was strong enough to unlock additional characters.

EDIT: These collabs are pretty neat. GB has some pretty good original character designs already, but cameos are always welcomed. Wish I was around when they did the Slayers one.

Sakura Taisen 3 started the evolution to a 3D style battle system and was labeled as ARMs (Active and Real-time Machine System). Similarly, Valkyria's battle system was known as BLiTZ (Battle of Live Tactical Zones). It's no mere coincidence.
