Shipped 3 million worldwide. Probably the best selling DBZ game since BT3.

What left is there to do? Didn't Xenoverse cover the whole universe, beyond, and alternate timelines to boot? I'm down for a much improved game but I do wonder where they'd go with it. Unless the whole story is entirely original which seems unlikely.
While I had fun with XV over a friend's place, I got the basic vibe that I should wait for a sequel to iron out most of the issues I had with the game. More gameplay depth, less RNG silliness and better balance overall are the things I expect to see, along with the obvious thing of more content.
Hopefully, I'm proven right. And if they got even more of the TFS vocal crew as vocal packs, that'd be even better.
Thanks to the likes of DBHeroes and other games always generating more in the way of interesting content, not to mention the fact that Super's still ongoing, there's always going to be more that XV will have to work with.
At the very least, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Giant Green Monkey (Broly's Oozaru form) as a possible boss fight.

Well they can still do the movies and... it's a Dragon Ball game, even in 50 years they will find something to cover the story.
They didn't go far enough with the story in Xenoverse in terms of the timelines changing. And there was a plethora of things skipped over (e.g Mystic/Ultimate Gohan vs Super Buutenks). The story also only covered two of the older movies (Broly's) and not any of the others. Then there's the new Super content they could add if they want to and if they want to go really far, they can do more GT and more of the original Dragon Ball.
With Xenoverse, there's a lot more potential for messing with things as it's not just a retread of the same story. It's about what-ifs and altering what happens. They just didn't go far enough with it in the first game -- probably because they didn't want to depart too much from the original storyline. There was some fun stuff in it, though (like what if Ginyu took Vegeta's body instead of Goku's). But just not... enough of stuff like that. More often than not it was just an evil & stronger version of a villain character.
I almost picked up Xenoverse the other day, but reviews made it sound like while it feels like a real authentic Dragonball game, it has some MMO-tier grind infused into the single player and the combat isn't very fun, so maybe I'll wait until it hits $19.99 for console or a Steam sale for PC. (or Xenoverse 2 plays like Xenoverse 2.0)

Hope they start by making the combat much better.
Seriously the worst of the dragonball games I've played. Granted, that basically amounts to some of the budokai and budokai tenkaichi games, but still.

I was always curious about the Future Timeline in regards to specific events.
For example Babidi showing up on Earth and hiding Buu, like some sort of what if scenario of Future Babidi in the Future Timeline when Trunks is the only remaining living hero since Goku died from the heart virus and everyone else was wiped out by the Androids.
So it makes you wonder how Future Trunks could possibly deal with a Future Buu.
Maybe this is why he comes back a third time in the current timeline because there is a threat in his timeline he needs help with.
"Realistically", I think Babidi's plans would have hit a snag. Not enough energy to hasten Buu's revival to go around. And I bet if Future Trunks ever got wind that this weird guy was following him around, trying to get at his energy, he would have dealt with him quickly.
But then again, Shin Budokai Another Road for PSP pretty much based its entire story mode off of this particular kind of "what if" scenario.

they didn't really cover alternate timelines, as a whole, just minor "what if" outcomes to certain events. Like, what if Raditz dodged the Special Beam Cannon or what if Ginyu unlocked all of the power in Goku's body. You never saw the greater outcome of such a thing.
There's still all kinds of alternate universe stuff they could tap, such as many of those seen in the Multiverse fan manga. Heck, one of the NPCs even makes mention of one such universe: one with a three-way war between Piccolo's demons, the Red Ribbon androids, and Babidi
And THAT was definitely one thing I was hoping they would have definitely touched in a DLC or sequel. I'm hoping nobody forgot about that particular possibility, as it just sounds so awesome. Not to mention, it may give all the more reason for us to see Super Powerful versions of the likes of Cymbal and Tambourine.
I'd wager by this point, especially, video game devs should be getting more freedom to create the kinds of games they want, without having to involve the stock Dragon Ball plotline but so much. And it looks like that notion may be off to a good start, if something like "Fusions" for the 3DS is anything to go by.

If this is axe oversee 2, all I want is for Saiyan hair to be properly spiky when they turn super.
Also allow me to make bigger and taller female Saiyans pls. They're meant to be a warrior race after all.

and a bunch of weird remix stuff they could do
Like I dunno , mira and towa going to trying to kill young vegeta or goku and having to team up with nappa or master roshi to stop them. Like they missed all of dragon ball, a bunch of gt stuff then you have spin off's like heroes, and extensions like super.
Then if they really wanna get weird they could throw in Jaco, Dr. Slump, and Sandland shit in there.

Xenoverse 2 would be awesome, just have more depth, a better loot system, and even more character customization/progress.
The "What-if" campaign is neat, but a much more deeper end-game experience would be breaking new ground.
DBZ raids? Yes please.
