Kinect officially useless now. Except if you're watching/streaming something and don't have a headset on I suppose. Good on Microsoft for supporting it though.

Yup, it's good to have choices.

Sad we didn't get any good Kinect games though. At least 360 Kinect had a small few pretty good Kinect games.

Its still very useful. I don't have to mess with a controller to use voice commands to watch netflix. I don't get why people don't understand this. Hands free.
For sure, I'd never want to have to use a headset for voice commands. Hopefully MS just builds a mic into the system or controller in the future for those that don't have Kinect. I am really excited to try out Cortana when the update preview goes live.

Awesome update. But nothing about a revamped Achievements System like promised? And what happened to background music?

Hope this is still only one small portion of the update.

I never watch TV or game with a headset on. I use Kinect for voice commands all the time.

You make it sound as if people not wearing a headset while using their Xbox are an exception.

The new Game library looks really good.

Looks pretty much like what Sony should do. Just put all the non-installed games in their own folder.

I wonder if some of the Windows apps coming to Xbox will be able to utilize the Kinect camera/mic. Might breathe some new life into it

Oh thank GOD.. changing library and how it looks.. it was always HORRIBLE at screen usage... this is amazing to me.

They took that library right from their phone OS.... so nice

This is just a little more minor stuff. I'm sure they'll announce more groundbreaking stuff which is already included in the update but locked during their E3 conference. "Available now for preview members"

New controller with built-in microphone incoming I suspect...

To those moaning, they even clarified that not everything in the update would be visible at first, with E3 around the corner it should be blindingly obvious why this is the case...

That looks like a great update.

Waiting for the outrage to begin when it turns out cortana doesn't work via headset whilst in party chat....

Hmm, I wonder if they are going to add a way of checking a games version for patches and such. If they are going to add any new features like that, this update would be the time to do it with the library overhaul.

They hinted at it but I hope this update gets rid of the same game showing up multiple times in the storefront. Example: Forza 6 ulitmate, Forza 6 special Edition, Forza 6 standard edition, Forza 6 pre-order. etc. Always thought that was such a waste of real estate. Also it made it look like nothing was coming out and this was used to take up the spaces. Which is not the case.

Can't wait to see a bunch of new gamertags starting with "Hey Cortana".

I don't think this was in the article but they mentioned it in the video.

*Furiously restarting the Xbox One* :lol

Like the NXOE update, they're rolling features out over time. This first release just doesn't have it.

Didn't know this since I haven't heard it in the video. Sounds good. Thanks for clarification.

I hope so, that is desperately needed.

I'm glad they announced some of the features, hopefully the preview members get the update soon.

Edit: After reading the article it looks like this week. :)

Being able to use voice commands using a headset is a pretty nice update seeing as they ditched kinect a while ago. I may actually decide to just unplug my kinect at this point.

Thank the Xbox gods that the "My Games & Apps" has been moved to the top of the screen! That was a huge pet peeve of mine with the new dashboard. The downloading/installing tile is also a nice touch.

New game library view isn't the complete overhaul that I somehow imagined they were doing, but a lot of great new options. Great to be able to select the on screen density. Hope we eventually get a return of the "Updated" flag on titles.

" Whether you’re on your PC, Xbox, or mobile phone, you’ll be able to see what PC games your friends are playing, share your own PC gaming clips and screenshots with the community..."

Is this only for games bought through the MS store still? Shame I can't share other screenshots ive taken.

Whoo finally the game library gets an overhaul. Goodbye two rows you'll not be missed.

But where's the hard drive filter in the new game library? I don't see it in the screenshot.

Please tell me that you can disable this. It's kinda annoying that the Xbox app keeps asking you to link your account no matter how many times you decline. I don't want this on my XB1 as well.

You can see the storage location filter in the video at 2:20

No, it'll work with anything you're playing including stuff from Steam.

So when will we see part 2? Not in the Summer?

The guys at Windows Central we saying they expect the second update to be announced at E3 with the biggest features of this update being announced. I would expect it to come out a week or so after it being announced.

Could be wrong, but pretty sure in the video they say something along the lines of "you'll be able to see what you're friends are playing, even if that's on steam".

Even bigger features than the already announced ones? What? Seems awesome.

So does Cortana mean I can say "play Forza 6" rather than having to be specific and say "play Forza Motorsport 6".

Love that you have now more detailed Download informations

Eurogamer says you can just say "I wanna play Forza" and it will launch it. If there are multiple games with the name on your system it will ask which one you want
