HATSUNE MIKU Project DIVA Future Tone |OT| A gift to the millions of miku fans

[11:03] <blargh> oh hey
[11:03] <blargh> it's miku, the twins, luka, meiko, and uh
[11:04] <blargh> marth for some reason

funny... marth says "let's dance" in an unused voice clip for melee...

so this is what he does when he's not at the battlefield huh?

have fun everyone! :)

Is this a friendly game for non Japanese speakers? (I ask now since now you can play it)

I usually play Japanese games (tales of) but I miss a lot of things since I don't speak it (the menus are always the same)

Menu translation:

Rhythm Game
Customise
  • Module (costume)
  • Hairstyle
  • Customise Item (accessories)
  • Button Sounds
  • Game Settings (Key config, controller settings, melody icons etc)
Gallery
  • Records
  • Ranking
  • Tutorial
  • Advertisement Theatre (looks like a bunch of the CG trailers for the game)
  • Staff Credits
PS Store
Options
  • Sound Settings
  • Setting Display
  • Manual
  • Easy Timing (I guess this tries to figure input lag for you?)
  • Timing Adjustment
  • Auto Save
  • Save

Might be a little rough but I wanna play this game ;)

It's my first Miku game and I really suck at this game. The timing seems really strict.

Its not my first Miku game but I suck too :)

Not sure whether theres a bit a lag going on (thats not an excuse btw!).

I don't understand the new mechanics at all - for example i'm holding down X & O (as they are labelled hold notes and I want the extra points) but then the whilst holding these down the game wants me to press the same note again, which is impossible.

For hold notes, just hold them as long as you can. Most of the time it's not possible to get the max hold bonus because you have to press them again.

For what it's worth, it doesn't seem like there's input lag on my end. I seemed to mess up in the right places, and it seemed in-line with the other Miku games :3 Maybe tinker with the input lag options?

This game is gorgeous though. 60FPS is so welcome.

So...many...modules....ugh!

This is kind of jarring with full 60fps going. And the songs I knew are different notations. Muscle memory is killing me. But this game is damn awesome.

Does this mean its impossible to get a 'Perfect' in this game, or does the length of the hold not matter?

I'm at that awkward stage where I don't know whether i'm timing the notes wrong or whether its lag. I encountered this with IA/VT Colorful on the Vita too and gave up in the end.

Trying to figure out all settings but failing. If someone could translate all of these that would be a big help :)

Holds are strictly bonus points. Dropping (or straight up not doing a hold and just tapping the button) doesn't rule a Perfect out.

I thought I saw something being mentioned in the other thread about button assignments, so is it possible to bind a button to register as all 4 face buttons together? It's kinda annoying trying to spread my thumb to cover them all, and my 1 weakness at Miku games was using the D-Pad in conjunction with the face buttons.

Yep, you can bind any combination of face buttons to any of the face or shoulder buttons.

Key Config
Slide something (looks like you can turn on/off touch pad and motion control)
Unsure about this one :s
Controller vibration
Controller speaker
Failure vocals? (I think this is setting whether you mute miku when you hit the wrong button. Like missing a note in Rock Band or something)
Melody icons
Clear border display

I started reading just the katakana but there's enough kanji in there that I just pasted the whole thing into Google Translate instead:

Key Configuration
Slide operation extended
Button pressed simultaneously support This is probably where you reconfigure buttons, to take a guess.
Controller vibration
Controller speaker
Failure of vocal (shown option: Not sing) Basically, the setting that determines whether singing gets muted if you mess up.
Melody icon
Clear Border Display

Can anyone find the Prelude on the PS Store? I still can only find the pre-order pack.

I assume you can download it tomorrow morning in Japan time?

Usually when the preorder ends in midnight, the actual game comes out in the morning if I remember correctly.

Thank you both. Not sure what Clear Border display and the simultanerous button setting do, but it helps :)

Make 2 orders. Worked for me.

Cool. I didn't want to try, thought maybe an order would be cancelled =\

Clear Border setting maybe sounds like the graph at the bottom of the screen that shows your clear status. My recollection is that it's kind of large, so some folks might prefer to hide it.

I pretty much need to rethink my usual Project Diva playing conventions. Holy shit, these hold and simultaneous notes.

Perfect, found it. Doesn't help me for all the weird combination of 2 and 3 presses that I'm seeing in Kowase Kowase, but I guess I just need to train my eyes to look at the middle of the screen to see exactly what to press rather than go cross eyed trying to focus on all the notes flying in at the same time.

Also if anyone wants to change to the normal triangle, square, X, O notes you can find the note settings as the final option in the customise menu, then the 2nd from bottom change option that to set 5.

Thank god normal isn't limited to only two buttons now.

And at the moment, hold notes and multi notes are breaking me.

Also just realized this was the first time I've played levan polka in rhythm game form.

I keep accidentally buying modules when I just want to preview them lol. Wish it would ask confirmation first before purchasing modules.
