Scotland has tallied alot of votes and they are expected remain, large parts of England havent come out yet and are expected to leave, also England is currently 55% leave and 45% remain, and is a fuckload larger.

So Scotland hasnt got many to declare and not a high population, England has a ton to declare and is 55% leave atm, Wales is swinging leave against the curve.

Do they not know that they get loads of money from the EU? Bloody hell.

Serious question do we still have free movement for the two years so i can escape this tory land?
we're officially still part of the EU during those 2 years so yes. Also, if the UK wants to continue trading with the single european market we have to agree to open borders anyway so you'll likely still have free travel after anyhoo... assuming dexit, frexit, chzechit and so on all don't leave too and the EU falls apart, of course.

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.
Current best Remain is Gibraltar with 94-6 and 83% turnout.
They know what's up.
It's impressive how we've been within half a percent for the last 40 calls or so.

Dude, the pattern is Leave are winning in much greater numbers in terms of individual areas. Remain are winning mainly in city/urban areas.

Remain are going to need some BIG wins coming up to be able to counter the deluge of little Leave wins across the country, including areas like Wales which should've been much stronger for Remain.

Can we all conclude at the point our Exit Polls and Pollsters in general are shit

Most of the major news outlets were biased towards remain -> therefore the reporting/polls have a good chance of not being representative of what's actually happening.

If we get flooded by immigrants trying to beat the deadline I would expect emergency measures to be passed blocking them

American here. I've been watching this spreadsheet, and it looks like everywhere except SW England, London, Scotland and Northern Ireland is voting to leave.

I find this entire thing completely fascinating. Part of me wants you guys to leave just so I can watch the world burn.

DAFUQ!?!?!?

Sorry UK-Gaf, not all of us are like this....

Scotland voted decisively to stay in the United Kingdom...so no.
To stay in a United Kingdom that is an EU member.
Why does it take so long to count? Didn't polls close hours ago?
There will be the better part of 25-30 million bits of paper to individually count!
Some might say any perceived inaction by the SNP would have been with this in mind..
Perceived inaction ain't inaction though!

The SNP alone isn't responsible for Scottish Remain performance. It's the official campaigns that are responsible, win or lose.
SNP is batting a thousand so far

what is Labour on about?
That they didn't bat ten thousand :p
The only bright side if this holds will be

well

John Oliver's segment on how much of a disappointing clusterfuck this is
That will be region locked in our country :(

Hard to poll this referendum because there isn't really a good historical comparison, even the EEC ref in 1973. You need historical data to be able to provide accurate projections, even with exit polls.

So as an American who just assumed Remain would win, I've been doing some quick reading on the effects of Leave.

The UK is going to have to renegotiate ALL political and trade links with the entire world within 2 years??

Aren't you guys so fucked in the long term, what leverage could the UK possibly have at that point?

interesting, when renegotiating, would it be on a position of strength or weakness?

On the bright side for Remain, it seems that some of London is even more for Remain than expected. But it looks like more people are expecting Leave to win now... we'll see!

I wouldn't be too hasty. Germany may not want to be overrun by a bunch of refugees from the United Kingdom.

<3 Quiche!

I don't think everyone voting leave = megabastards at all. Unfortunately I think many voted leave based on misinformation and their own prejudices :|

See that's fine. We disagree. We can disagree.

But it's apparently become acceptable to just say leave voters are thick and racist, and it does make me a bit sad. It's just a difference in political opinion.

London might be more remain, but the turnout is lower than expected, which is a big fucking deal if London is your linchipin, its not a case of "London wins so we declare London for EU" its every vote counts.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
I have no idea why anyone would think this is a good idea. It simply doesn't make sense. It feels like a decision made on pure emotion rather than logic. Leaving is bad for everyone.

Some of the rural people in small towns in places like Northern England already have it bad, and they feel left out.

They probably figure on a micro level welp I already have it bad now so a remain keeps the status quo. Leaving might shake things up and make it better.

This is even though on a macro level all of the data seems to point to this being worst economically for all.

BBC : "working class don't believe politicians"

Probably shouldn't have spent so much time and energy spreading spin and deceit to win votes for aeons. If it weren't an outcome I dislike I'd probably be enjoying the karma.

For now yeah but Leave never adequately addressed this in the longer time. I think it would be unlikely that if the UK slams shut its borders, that other EU countries wouldn't do the same to UK nationals.

Do they not know that they get loads of money from the EU? Bloody hell.

Cornwall has had multiple millions of pounds rained down on it by the EU and shit-loads of restoration work done on heritage sites, yet still everywhere I go I see "Vote Leave", "Protect our Heritage" signs. The EU were the only fuckers giving a shite about our heritage! I expect Cornwall to vote all out, at this point we have a history of making monumentally stupid decisions when it comes to voting.
