A Massive peaceful protest will do nothing, If you and your people where the ones oppressed for decades how would you react? Doing a peaceful silent protest in front of the governor house for 24 hours to get some media exposure and then wait for the next incident to do the same exact thing? Really?
What should we do? Should we start killing cops? Should we start destroying businesses and vandalizing our cities? Violent protest just sounds nasty to me.

A white family going through the same thing. Since this doesn't seem to happen to white families I wouldn't hold my breath.

It happens to white families occasionally, too. The problem is that whenever that happens if the case can even get any attention, at best you'll see people say "See, it happens to us whites, too! So could you please quit it with your race-baiting?" and then they forget about it.

Yeah, looking at the last big one in the LA Riots, did it result in anything meaningful as it related to changing the way the LAPD policed for the better of the communities that rioted? I just remember looting, fires, and a bunch of dead folks. The bad seeds that just want to cause chaos would overshadow the well-meaning folks looking for change.

"She is also has a totally flat and unemotional tone throughout the video."

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME.

Right. He could have posted "fuck black people" in 100 point comic sans and sent the exact same message. Not sure why he put in all that extra effort to fabricate some journalism piece.

Ethnicity is not a race!
Man, the daughter at the end, with her comforting words for her mother, is just on another level. I'm all fucked up right now.

Yeah, I'm trying not to cry at work - it's not a good look.

I don't have anything to add, really. This is right outside of Roseville, Minnesota, which is close to where I live. My girlfriend works for the Department of Corrections, and this is crushing her because she knows that she's going to end up having to talk with this woman about services that will help provide for funeral arrangements, burial arrangements, legal options, etc. There's really nothing you can do when your significant other is killed by a cop. You can go to civil court, and depending on the judge, you might be able to get legal compensation.

But that money doesn't heal anything. It has to go towards all sorts of things that you wouldn't have had to pay for previously. Like cleaning blood out of your car. Like buying a burial plot. Like sleeping pills because you now have a hard time sleeping for some reason. Like child care because you don't have someone to help you anymore.

Great, now I'm crying.

Sadly the whole gang members thing is all white America needs to see to justify this and discredit the girlfriends story of what happened.
They discredited all of the witnesses in the Michael Brown shooting based on the testimony of a known racist who was proven to not have even been in the state at the time of the shooting.

It doesn't take much.

I'm sick of looking at what's going on cleanly to be honest.

The state has had decades to fix this. Cops have had decades to fix this. Good cops have had decades to fix this.

And have done nothing. No matter the protest, the riot, the vote.

What can we do?

Fuck this, this is just fucking infuriating! Fuck cops, they don't do nothing good for us black people! We're nothing but a goddamn walking target for them and that's all we'll be to them. Fuck!

Ironic that the with the Orlando shooting people say "Everyone should have had a gun" and when these happen it's "Well they shouldn't be carrying guns!"

So, our friend KingHendrik30 was more than happy to return to rub our noses in it a little further, is he really not man enough to apologize for saying that shit in the wrong thread?

I thought he was just about "the facts".

He was banned a while ago lol.

Sigh. I fucking HATE being a black man in this fucking shithole country.

The genuine fear you have going about your daily life knowing that anything you do, especially if police get involved can cost you your life. I use public transportation because it's convenient for me, but also because it limits the chances I'll have to interact with a police officer in case of any traffic "altercations."

My body reflexively tenses up whenever I'm walking down the street and see police officers up the street, because I have no idea if making eye contact, or smiling and saying "Hello" will set them off. In any normal fucking country, that would be an extreme reaction to the "good ol' boys in blue," but not in fucking America. Not if you're black.

I didn't watch the video. I don't need to. It's not like I need any convincing that being black in this country sucks ass. I don't need to see yet another video of the police taking the life of another fellow black man. I don't need to be "shocked" and "appalled" by what's happening to us in this country, because I live it every fucking day. I live with walking on eggshells and being the happiest-fucking-go-lucky jiggaboo in the world because I know that if I don't toe the line with 100% perfection my day can end with me in the morgue.

I'm fucking exhausted of having this same conversation seemingly every week. Having to stomach the same rationalizations and "he's no angelisms" each and every time one of us is shot and killed by the racist institutions that are sworn to protect us. I'm just fucking done.

Bitching about it peacefully on the internet doesn't do shit. Protests don't do shit. Hell, even riots and violence doesn't do shit. What needs to happen before the rest of the country acknowledges that there is a legit problem with how minorities are treated here? Our complete genocide? Then you non-blacks can sit back and write essays about how the black element in the country was systematically wiped out by institutional racism and a pervasive fear of blacks that was embedded in the DNA of our country the moment they dared to stop being treated like property and stand up for themselves and their rights?

I'd move if I felt the situation would be better for me in another country and if I could afford it, but the sad truth is that the fear and distrust and hatred of the black man is a worldwide problem. I'm done. Fucking done.

No words.

That poor anti-white media let me tell ya.

This is being plastered all over conservative media.

The only consolation is that the comments section isn't being kind to the article :\

Concealed-Carry permit holder == responsible gun owner

That's how it works, right?

Here's a person that is holding down a full-time job at a school, has a clean enough record that he has a CC permit, and is driving around with his family.

But no, let's demonize him because fucking why?

Just watched the video

I am fucking fuming. This happened 15 minutes from me. I hope that cop rots in jail and then proceeds to rot in hell. Focusing on work today is going to be impossible. Does anyone know if there is a gofundme or something for the family? I feel like I need to do something :(

I'm about to lose it here at work. Two coworkers I sit next to are talking about this story and general cop shootings overall, and one of them keeps taking the middle road but mostly defending violent cops. "I'm pro police" "Why would someone mention they have a license to carry and weapon on him?"

Pertaining to another story: "Guy was a convicted felon who was released and had a holstered gun." In other words, he said it was fine for this one guy to be killed.

And a bunch of "I don't knows" whenever the other coworker keeps saying that people should not be getting killed by police officers who need to be servicing the community and not fracturing it, and that this is unacceptable. The constant saying of "I don't know" just tells me he really sympathizes with these officers who continue to kill people and respond with violence unnecessarily. I hate it.

Look, I'm thankful for officers who do a good job and aren't like these pieces of shit, but come on, dude, admit there's a systematic issue. Unbelievable. Violence like this isn't justified. The fuck is wrong with you.

We all know why.

Let's be real here, if this was a white guy these same people would be going to great lengths to hide anything questionable he might have done during his time on this planet.

With some people it is always what the dead black guy did wrong to deserve a death sentence.

Thankfully someone has pointed out on my conservative gun forums that he had to have had an impeccable record to get his concealed. I have six concealed permits myself and I really really doubt this guy was some dubious crop if he got it. He would've been flagged during the initial FBI investigation.

The full conservative machine is saying this is because he was a criminal and did something that threatened the cop. Because he has a record of being "a crip"

This maybe is the saddest thing. You can protest all you want but there are still people who will only recognize things if it's in history books. Only in history books racism was real, in modern times everything will be excused.

It's like for some people recognizing racism would be their kryptonite, they seem that reluctant to acknowledge the problem. I'll never understand that. Maybe they are just insecure about their identity and handle their insecurity with what ends up being a psychopathic denial of reality.

Oh no... oh no...

Him: "So... what about the Eric Garner case? He was fat and died from being overweight and other health issues. The chokehold wasn't the problem"

Alright, I need to put my headphones on.

I fucking hate cops. Every single one of them. Fuck em all.

I don't agree with this attitude, either. This isn't conducive to solving the problem because not all cops are like this. I'm not trying to detract from the systematic issue that exists with the police system in this country, but I'm not going to demonize EVERY SINGLE ONE of them either.

what is this. what are you doing.

whataboutism? come on man.

...I'm fairly certain he's implying that the guy in that story did not die because he is white, therefore implying that this man was killed partly due to racism, when white people can be apprehended nonviolently.
