I would say give FH2 a chance. It's really fantastic. I didn't care for racing games before I played FH1. The open world setting makes it awesome. Other than that a +1 for Inside and Life is Strange.

The Master Chief Collection is actually a blast now that they've worked the horrible bugs out of the multiplayer. I never had issues with the single player aspect and I believe it is still on sale.

A whole bunch of people not reading your OP, OP.

Massive Chalice (a bit like Xcom)

I woukd look in to superhot as well op. Its a puzzle game disguised as a shooter. Think portal.

.

Max, I know your disdain for shooters, but you really need to at least look at Superhot. It's something else.

Same goes for Rocket League as others have said.

I'd give Rocket League a try. I know you don't want racing and sports, but it's such an unusual combination that you might find it transcends those two genres and kind of creates something new.

But yeah, just play Ori over and over again. :)

Almost bit on the same deal but I have a gaming PC and have similar tastes as you so not missing a whole lot.

OP: Sunset Ovedrive is pretty fun.

You can also have other downloadable games like:
INSIDE
Max: The Curse of Brotherhood.
Ori and the blind Forest
Oxenfree
D4
Olli Olli

Then you have interesting stuff that I want to buy but I haven't done yet like Lovely Planet, Unravel, the Escapists and Anarcute. Or things that are coming like Cuphead.

Oh, and don't forget to try Killer Instinct and check for back compatible stuff.

I think there's lot of interesting stuff outside of Forza, Halo and GoW.

So, the only games available on it are Halo, Gears, Forza, Rare Replay and Ori?

LOL. Ok.

DId you check out he doesn't have a PS4 or PC either?

Again, another shit post.

Did you read the OP or are you being a console warrior here? The poster said he liked side scroller/puzzle games, and things he could play with his wife. XB1 does not have many of these, aside from a handful of indie titles. He already has a WiiU, so that's the platform to get most of that stuff, and of the other two, PS4 has the stronger lineup when it comes to HIS TASTES. Way to respond to an alleged shit post with one of your own.

Rare Replay, MCC, and Sunset Overdrive are must-buys. MKX is awesome too if you haven't played it

Edit, Didn't read the whole OP: Tembo the Badass Elephant is a fine platformer, but not AMAZING

That is amazingly helpful and several of those are not on PS3 or Wii U. Awesome. I remember I was really interested in Max, and not just because of my shared name. Thank you!

Excellent post! Helps me out too!

This post proves you're wrong though:

Well :) I'm glad you guys liked the post. If it helps at all, here are some other puzzle/adventure games in my backlog which I have not played yet. So I can't rate these games.

The Park
Among The Sleep
Sherlock Holmes The Devil's Daughter
Oxenfree
King's Quest
Book of Unwritten Tales 2
The Solus Project
Gemini Heroes Reborn (currently playing this one and it's not faring too well, I probably won't give it more than 3.5/5)

Most games have been mentioned here, especially the exclusives, but i'll mention them again :)

Exclusives:
- Ori and the Blind Forest
- Inside
- Rare Replay
- Sunset Overdrive
- Castle Crashers (really funny 2D RPG)
- Battleblock Theater (Platformer by the studio of Castle Crashers, 360, but compatible with the Xbox One)

Also you should keep your eyes open for ReCore, Pit People, We Happy Few and Cuphead.

If you like Strategy Games Halo Wars 1 & 2.
If you like Smash Bros. you should take a look at Rivals of Aether, that's a damn fine game.

Multiplat:
- Rogue Legacy (Rogue-Like)
- Shovel Knight (Jump 'n Run in the vein of Mega Man)
- Super Meat Boy (Platformer, 360, also compatible)
- The Witcher 3 (one of the best RPGs in years)
- Rocket League (Sports, but fun even if you don't like sports, like me)
- Life is Strange

Sunset Overdrive
Inside
Halo 5 (best multiplayer game exclusive to the system IMO)

Quantum Break. Best system exclusive imho and one of the most underrated titles on the system.

Quantum Break is probably my second favorite game this console generation.

Well there's already close to 200 Xbox 360 games you can get too. You've effectively bought 2 consoles.

Games wise, since you've effectively ruled out almost every popular genre...

Inside
Ryse
Shadow of Mordor
Rocket League
Limbo
Sunset Overdrive (technically a TPS, but almost just as much a platformer)
Killer Instinct
#IDARB is a fun time killer couch multiplayer game
Any of the popular sports games so just get EA Access

Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition is a must IMO. Couch co-op ftw!

(I know it's not exclusive but if you don't have it anywhere else...)

So you're not interested in the games or the extra controller. Seems you should have just waited for the better model for $20 more.

Wait what??

Where did you hear this?

All Microsoft first-party games are coming to BC, eventually - Microsoft said so I believe. Not sure if they all actually will come (i.e. where is Forza BC?).

They have solved multi-disc games with Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut. But I imagine it's still a formidable task to get two massive JRPGs like Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey working. Fingers crossed though.

It's a pretty solid recommendation list. Among the other games you've not rated I can tell you that I liked a lot Among the Sleep when I played it on PC. It's a nice title, most of the time it's creepy but there's a section that I found pretty terrifying. Totally worth it.

If not mentioned already, sign up for EA Access.
You are done.

Enjoy
Titanfall
Battlefield 4
Sports games if those are your thing
Unravel
Need for Speed

Will get to play several genres for a pretty inexpensive price. Best deal in gaming imho.

But, read through the thread, there have been plenty of games mentioned.......

And why would I be the console warrior here? Unlike you, I actually own both (all 3) consoles........I mean for goodness sakes, since my GAF name is the same as my PSN name

I just call out warrior shit posts like yours when I see them. (with your Gears, Forza, Halo and saying it's the 'wrong choice' nonsense )

EDIT: And if you need a map to get to your destination, coming into a thread that is titled "Hey guys I bought an Xbox One and what games should I get" and following that up with a post saying that the OP did not make the right choice and then your second post goes on to spout how in your opinion he should have bought a PS4 - when the purchase was already made4-.........hmmm.........yeah, I can see where you weren't shitting up the thread and was just being constructive........

op_ivy

Fallen Xbot (cannot continue gaining levels in this class)
The thing is, I don't care for TPS, FPS, that sort of game, or racing.

that eliminates must of xboxes best games... you really should give quantum break, halo 5, forza horizon 2 (theres a demo), forza 6, and dirt rally a chance. some of my favorite games ever right there and i've been gaming since before nes/sms.

otherwise definitely grab the following: ori and the blind forest, inside, sunset overdrive (not so much a third person shooter as it may seem), killer instinct

If you want to get into fighting there is also Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat X. I was in the same dilemma as you but ended up not getting it. Maybe when it is even cheaper or there are more games I will

Murdered: Soul Suspectis a damn good mystery/adventure/puzzler/ game. It's better than the the reviews gave it credit for. I'm playing it right now with my wife with a gaming club (like a book club, but games).

The impressions by everyone has been really positive.

I echo the sentiments of sunset overdrive and Max. Also you dont know jack is a great pafty game. Tenbo the badass elephant is a fun side scroller by gamefreak.

Where did you get this deal OP?

I've been considering getting one lately...

It was an Amazon deal of the day for prime. ☺

So you're not interested in the games or the extra controller. Seems you should have just waited for the better model for $20 more.

The better model won't come with a bunch of stuff I can sell or a $50 GC, though, so it's essentially $20 more plus the value of those, so maybe $170 more.
