Does it get any better after the pilot? The pilot had me falling asleep, and felt very very "here throw this in, put that there!" :S.
The lead is so dull. She really brings the show down.

Agree with most things in that article, viewer attention (and retention) is becoming increasingly harder to attain.
Case in point:
Berlin Station on Epix.
That show is (probably) fuuuuuucked in terms of ratings. The first trailer has got (as of writing) 81K views, and I'm assuming most of those are from the fact that the trailer autoplays when you open epix's youtube page.
It (yet again, probably) will be a good show. But will it be a show which makes people aware that Epix is an actual thing? I mean I'm into Berlin Station and I still occasionly doubt that Epix exists.
Never heard of Berlin Station and I only know of Epix because Epix is where Richard Roeper does film reviews now.
Edit: No, wait, that's Reelz.
Yeah I feel like this was bound to happen. The bubble is gonna burst in a few years, which sucks in some ways. The channels that did scripted before all this might come out fine or cut down but I get the feeling most others are gonna maybe push out 4 or 5 series and then retreat when they find it's not viable at all.
I really enjoy the premise of Powers, medium aside. I guess a two season run is pretty decent though, given the one-and-done trend.
Wonder how long that DC 'powerless' show will survive. Anyone even want to bet on a second season for that one?
Wouldn't be surprised if Lifetime or WGN maybe are the first to bow out.
The reviews were so negative for it that I don't think most people bothered. Is it wrong that I honestly never gave that show a chance simply because I knew that for it to really work they needed a fairly massive budget, and I knew there was no way that PSN would cough up the dough?
Did anyone watch it? Was it as low budget looking as I feared?

I'm actually of the same mind on the matter, really. Like someone pointed out as well, Lifetime has a niche but I don't think a loss leader like unREAL is gonna drive viewers towards their regular programming (and unREAL being in general decline critically this season doesn't do it any favours). Much like networks/channels that normally didn't or still don't have a tradition of airing scripted programming (not even syndication), they might bow out fairly quick as well and won't be missed or even noticed. I'm certainly not worried about the actual bigger players dropping out either unless something changes and all the momentum the system has built up just suddenly evaporates and disappears overnight or something.I guess the short version of what I'm saying is this: if the Peak TV bubble popping means that a bunch of networks no one has ever heard of stop producing the 1-2 projects they're currently producing, no one will notice. I think if it deters, like, HGTV from launching a scripted drama where the pool guy and the gardener team up to hold Ian Ziering's family hostage and the audience learns about american class stratification or something, no one will notice. I think if Peak TV actually disrupts the places we go to for quality content, if Netflix slashes its original content budget, if HBO can't justify $15 in subscription numbers, if Hulu exits originals--these are signs that something is badly wrong, and I'm not seeing them.
I hope ABC enewed 500 Questions

Preacher is pretty good. I'm not sure of what i think of Outcast right now, but I'm several episodes behind.

I honestly feel sorry for people who can't get past how expensive a show looks.
In the case of Powers; was it cheap looking? Sure, but I thought season 2 was right there with Jessica Jones as the best superhero show of the past year. Even season 1 got pretty good by the end.
I'm the opposite. I think Outcast is pretty good and I'm not sure what to think of Preacher. Still got a few eps of Preacher to watch and last weeks episode of Outcast.
So with Aquarius moving back to Saturdays, we're pretty sure that's done, right?
Kind of a shame. I wouldn't call it a good show, but watching them try to fit in virtually every significant event or social movement of the late 1960s is sort of entertaining in a "half-watch while I do other stuff" kind of way.
Zoo takes place after Under the Dome right? Is this what the Dome was meant to protect the people of Mills Landing from?
No.Zoo is related to Under the Dome?
There won't be a season 3 of Zoo with those ratings, right?
So, the season 2 will probably end on a cliffhanger and the story will never be resolved because the show will be cancelled...

Well, I definitely thought the last three episodes, after Mantzoukas's character left, were pretty damned weak. The show seemed to be leaning into wild, over-the-top serialization in a bad way. I hope S4 recovers some, but a crossover involving the awful people on New Girl is dispiriting.Wait, do people hate B99 now? I had no idea. lol
Hrm, I guess I never took the time to think of the show critically. The "infiltrate the FBI by using Sex and the City references" thing just seemed funny at the time.Well, I definitely thought the last three episodes, after Mantzoukas's character left, were pretty damned weak.
