Going from my experiences here, most of you are just collecting Pokemon and not doing the other stuff right? So why do IVs matter?

well building up the best pokemon to show off is still something.

personally I am taking gyms. it would be nice to have good defenders so when the hype dies down more I could maybe just keep a gym with two really good pokemon for a while.

I can understand that, but there's a fairly small difference between good IV Pokemon and bad IV Pokemon. So I'd figure it was only useful for high level gym stuff anyway.

between a 90 and 100 sure.

there is a decent difference between a 5 and 90 though :p

I'd never bother with IVs in the normal games, since it's hard to level stuff in Go though having some sort of indicator in game telling you if you have a good one or not would be great, and far more n00b friendly then needing an IV calculator.
Yeah, I'd be have to a Good, Great, Excellent grade. But they'll never do it.

Man those blog entries on Nintac's site are the biggest load of "Sorry you're offended" I've ever seen and still don't address the whole reason why people were using the radar sites in the first place.

that's interesting, does it also determine a Pokémon's exact level from the arc?

It appears that way. Took some screencaps of it in use on my phone.

Notice the "IV" that appears in the lower left once it's running.

Some people have reported it being a bit buggy for them, it crashed on me the first time I tried to use it but since then it has worked. I can see it being a battery hog though in addition to the Pokemon GO app itself, probably wouldn't use too much on the go.

Man, i really don't feel like playing today.

I got nothing to do in the game. I mean, i could take on some gyms, but they will probably just glitch out, just like they always do.

I also caught everything that spawns around here.

I'm gonna leave the game for a few days

heh.

so it seems when they remove pokestops from an area they don't fully remove them. (wonder if this is in case they need to add them back later, or maybe they will set up something like timed stops. I mean with the place in question if the stops were only active from 6pm to 6am or so then it wouldn't really be an issue. I am sure there are some parks/libraries that would love to have them only going during the day.)

by the pokemon go app the pokestops that were removed are still there (in fact some people might have pokemon stuck in gyms :p)

but the big thing is that the spawn points seem to still be there.

I am also really sad I am not there right now as there was a lapris, hitmonchan and vuplix when I looked lol.

Finaly! But they should've just wiped their account without any notice, tsk.

RIP Pokeadvisor
And just when I caught my first ever Snorlax and had 4 hatchings :(
Why Niantic isn't taking example on Blizzard ?
Blizzard let website like Pokeadvisor run at least...

Yes, thank god. Niantic doesn't have any real verification for people who request that stops/gyms be removed (probably since Niantic doesn't have the manpower to verify it). Getting pokestops removed from small towns has apparently become a new form of griefing :/

Hah, serves em right.

it still makes it a pain to get balls for hunting pokemon, but at least the rare pokemon spawns that were there might still be useful.

in winter it's going to still likely be my go to place since I can walk around catching pokemon while mostly staying in climate controlled areas.

Finally encountered my first Charmander and of course it ran away after 3 ultraballs and berries.

Heh Charmender and Pikachu (plus evolutions) are right now the rarest Pokemon around my area

Absolutely not a single sight since i saw a Pikachu on D1

Haha, yep, now Charmander's silhouette is taunting me in the Pokedex.

Count me in as one who also has not yet seen a Pikachu, not even it's nearby shadow. Was hoping I could get one from an egg, but so far it's been Pidgeys, Weedles, Caterpies, and Magikarps.

Starters are fair hard to catch anyway.

And it's great that cheater streams are being taken care of.

Yep, true. I'll catch one eventually!

Glad to hear cheaters are being dealt with. I hope a massive banwave will follow soon.

How I feel right now
leostrutoriginal.jpg

Just got a Vulpix and a Porygon from my two 5km eggs, also caught a growlith, really low cp...but it helps!

I got the radar / nearby tool pokemonnearby io - back up -- for the moment anyway.

(if they have implemented any account bans server side then it might stop working after load, or time, or other things I don't know about yet).

I really hope Niantic can make more pokestops and some gyms in my city, is pretty deserted with only 3 pokestops and no gyms

Also my Snorlax has lick and hyper beam but is only CP 41 :/

I can understand banning pokevision... but pokeadvisor?

Seeing my IV levels easily was one of the few things that kept me interested in this game.

I seem to be mostly be getting the same Pokemon from eggs.

Is it true that where they're hatched has a bearing on the type they are?

That's really shitty if true, I feel like I've exhausted the natural reserves of Pokemon in my area and was relying on eggs to get me the rest.

IOS - If I download offline map on Google map, will it save my data and battery? I heard on Android, it does save battery and data but I am not sure about iPhones.

don't think so..i got a fairly diverse range of pkmn from eggs, despite mostly playing always in the same places

no reason why it shouldn't

I experienced cheating first hand the other day.

I was sat in this little circular park on a bench with my buddy. Leveling up a gym so I could place a pokemon on it, after a bit of a slog I could see I only needed 80 more points. Go to battle again and it had leveled down. No-one else was around, the gym was in the centre of the park so they would have had to been inside it. So lame, I hope they ban/fix this shit ASAP.

basically my experience with the game since day one...several imes i was right in front of a gym being attacked and no one was there with their phones out..i'm probably one of the few people actually walking in my entire town probably...only met two people around playing the game..meanwhile gyms change hands every 20 minutes or less

speaking of hacks, there is no way people could hack their level or Pokemon, unless they hacked the server it self, which i doubt anyone could do it.
most likely this people have no life and 24 hour grinding all time.

PS: add one zero to every number.

you can just use an emulator and set fictional routes around the city to catch pokèmon, get pokèstops and leveling up

You can make a bot play the game, and you can spoof the GPS data so that you visit useful areas right from your home.

(I wouldn't say the server is hacj-proof, but I don't think you need it anyway)

Yeah it's pretty annoying, first time I've see blatant cheating though - although I probably don't dabble with gyms as much as others. This was in a small seaside town, so if people are doing it there then I guess it's probably rife everywhere.

The other week we walked around taking some gyms near where I live, within 5 mins a car full of guys had pulled up and taken it haha.

Edit: just reported the cheater, forgot that I had a took a screenshot!

Bots can gain xp/hr way faster than possible in real life and on top of that they can operate for longer hours than a regular person.

there is bots now for the game? great
now enjoy the game while make others play it for you?

Accept it that most pokemon go players have never touched game before and are lost if they have to do something else than press 1 button. (yes I included most of neogaffers to this too)
OH NO I CANT SEE IV NUMBERS ANYMORE WITH PRESS OF 1 BUTTON GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH UNINTALLING!!!

Did you know, once you claim coins from the gym, you can forward your phone clock, and you can claim the coins again. Since the game can check on servers, i wouldn't risk doing it, but just be aware that this bug is out there.
