Accept it that most pokemon go players have never touched game before and are lost if they have to do something else than press 1 button. (yes I included most of neogaffers to this too)
OH NO I CANT SEE IV NUMBERS ANYMORE WITH PRESS OF 1 BUTTON GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH UNINTALLING!!!

This was not the point of my post and thus not helping me choose between if blue bar skill is more important than normal skill.
Charge skill is cool but can only be done once while normal skill (with no blue bar) can be spammed.
So far I only saw posts about which has the biggest dps, only.

Hey Im super new to the game and was just wondering if anybody else had run across the same problem I do? Initially the app worked more or less fine, but for some reason now it won't communicate with my phone's GPS. I've checked and I'm p sure the app has the necessary permissions, and I know the phone's gps is on and working, so I'm kinda confused as to why this is happening and hoping someone maybe knows?

Apparently it's 95%. I've powered up a little already, should I go all the way?

Did you know, once you claim coins from the gym, you can forward your phone clock, and you can claim the coins again. Since the game can check on servers, i wouldn't risk doing it, but just be aware that this bug is out there.

Not sure if worth abusing, im sure they will ban very fast when they find about this, since its eats their $.

Gyms, stops and Pokemon aren't spawning for me this afternoon :(

Not sure how to fix it as I have restarted the app a bunch.

NOOOOOOOOOOO,pokeadvisor is blocked.
i remember there is another site that do that same thing, what was it?

I found 2 alternative but I don't have many feeback about them, so I don't know if they were okay like Poke advisor.

There is the app version, android only:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsht.gostats

There is webiste version, pretty much like Pokeadvisor:
http://www.pgnexus.gg/

Use at your own risk :x

Edit: seems the website has just gone down too, lol.
Edit 2: it works again.

Edit3 : desktop version

Quick questions:
Do Pokemon attacks change after evolving?
Do the XS/XL indicators for height and weight mean anything? This seems to change upon evolution.
Thanks!

Blue bar skill is important too. I would rather have hydro pump than water pulse for Vaporeon, for instance.

Oh god water pulse is truly awful especially with the crippled ai.

Water Pulse is apparently pretty good for Vaporeon when it comes to defending a gym (there are conflicting arguments though about whether or not it's actually better than Hydro Pump for defence):

Seriously ? That's just plain horrible and stupid from twitch viewers!

If nothing else, I appreciate that man's hustle. Just tuned in and he's streaming right now, a guy wandering around Tulsa at 7 in the morning with a selfie stick talking to invisible internet people about Pokemon. I'd rather watch people out and about playing this game on Twitch than someone sitting at their desk, even if there was some non-cheating way to do the latter.

I like how Niantic is so extremly quick with fixing third party stuff, even if it's harmless stuff like Pokéadvisor, but can't be bothered to fix the "bugs" that actually do upset their players and are making the game less fun to play

PokéAdvisor wasn't specifically blocked, the IP ranges of the cloud hosting service it uses were. This was likely more for targeting and preemptively blocking future PokéVision-like sites, and Advisor was just collateral damage.

well okay, that makes sense, but i still dislike that that has the priority over a bug that they themselves have acknowledeged, and is making people play their game less.

Sad to see they took PokeAdvisor down.

Just show us the IVs in-game or allow us to see them somewhere else without having to rely on inaccurate calculations.

Random note; it's pretty dumb how many charge moves are just straight up worse than normal moves.

Poke assistant allows you to manually enter the values and it calculates the iv's for you

It's a good alternative

With IVs no longer being set in stone in Sun and Moon, it would be nice if future updates to Go allowed you to upgrade your Pokémon's IVs. I'm not sure what the mechanic could be, but there's many different approaches that could be taken.

Except PokéAdvisor showed you the actual IV's at the click of a button while PokéAssistant gives you a range of possibilities and is more time-consuming to use if you want to check multiple POKéMON after a catching / breeding spree. It's an alternative, but not really on the same level of convenience and accuracy as PokéAdvisor.

EDIT: To illustrate the point; I just put in my Exeggcute and got 15 possible IV combinations ranging from 86,7% to 48,9% perfection. This data is basically useless.

I agree and the worst I just reported are channel where people watch a bot -_-'

But how did we know, how accurate Advisor was? Did we actually know where the info came from?

Edit: Wait I'm stupid...they pulled it right from the server, right?

IOS - If I download offline map on Google map, will it save my data and battery? I heard on Android, it does save battery and data but I am not sure about iPhones.
No it doesn't, a Google Maps guy confirmed on Twitter that it wouldn't help.

Well, they're violating the terms just as much as the other sites are.

Wow that's elementary.

Visiting Salt Lake City, and tons of people were playing in front of the Mormon Temple. Managed to catch loads of Pokémon that i don't normally see, including an omanyte. Nice city with lots of pokestops and friendly people!

I know there was a tonne of outrage when the tracking sites went down but it didn't bother me much. I'm lucky enough to live in a big city so can just walk around and come across plenty of lured stops and randoms Pokemon. If stuff like Pokeadvisor stays down though I think I'm out for now. I became super interested in the meta and trying to create a team of high IV chars to battle at gyms. If we're back to obscurity, hidden stats and using fiddly calculators to get inaccurate results then I'm done until a better solution pops up.

We are still in early stages concerning the game, so maybe sometimes in the future (maybe once a tuturial hits) we will get more stats and stuff inside the app itself? They didnt put IVs in there for nothing....
although, maybe they did....

I don't know about you guys, but I don't get enough of non-pidgys, etc. to worry about IV's. I'll only ever get enough candies to evolve them once anyway so it doesn't matter to me what their IV's are since I can't be picky.

Love my new Gyarados. Takes down gyms quite well.

Also, for the Poke assistant. You need to do the refine thing to narrow down the IVs. It's very easy.

So with all the talk about 'bots' and gps spoofing and possible bans coming for that, is it possible that you could be caught in that crossfire if for example you have someone in a different location log into your account on their phone to catch a pokemon for you?

I'm trying to explain to a guy on twitter how to select his best pokemons but without pokeadvisor the guy is totaly lost with manual caculator, orz...
I know right? I told a couple of friends about it and they understood the IV concept immediately. They're not mainline Pokémon players so they didn't know about IVs.
Man, with Pokeadvisor gone I don't really feel any incentive for going out today to the same locations, it was an Arceussend.

Obviously, that's against the TOS. That's not getting caught in the crossfire, that's being one of the targets.

Well, wouldn't that essentially be cheating though? Seems like this would be against the TOS and will end up getting yourself banned.

You know as much as I could bitch about this game I still really love it. I'm going to be leaving the country in 2-3 weeks for at least 2 years and it's given me and my younger sister something to bond over the last few weeks.

Just got to level 23, now only another 125,000 xp till my next level up :(

Also found my first Muk on my lunch, was just over 1K CP so decided to spend around 35K stardust leveling it up and its now just under 1.6K. Figured i had over 70k saved up and my first 10K only gave me a Kabuto so wanted to spend some.

I'm pretty happy about today. Just need 5 more Pidgeys to mass evolve. Although I think I'm gonna find 3 Staryu, 2 Sandschrew and 1 Spearrow before I do it.

I skimmed through the TOS and couldn't really find anything specific about the kind of thing I'm talking about. You're probably right though, but still. I'm thinking about isolated moments of something rare popping up and only one of me and my gf being around to catch it. Sucks if we can't help eachother out.

The only Pokémon I think I'd kinda care about the IVs for is Gyarados thanks to all the Magikarps I'd need to catch to make a single one. Beyond that seems to be a lot of additional work for gains that mean less than being able to dodge special attacks. It is a shame about Pokeadvisor for those that do care though.

This game doesn't take itself seriously as far as the competitive aspect go. The fact that the moves are pre-determined and can even change after evolving makes it a joke. I have no idea why the hell they put this pseudo-IV system in. I feel like they don't really know what to do exactly with it exactly.
