Not sure if this has been addressed yet but...
to my knowledge, I'll be able to play the game digitally tonight at 9pm PT. Will I be playing the game with the day 1 patch or should I just wait until tomorrow morning?

Day 1 patch is already out. You'll be good to go to start immediately.

REAL TALK - so obviously the hype is terrifying. I mean, I have had this hanging over me for three years since we announced. I get like 3 hours sleep a night, but like I can't sleep even if I was home so ¯_(シ)_/¯. It's catch 22, if we hadn't announced when we did, we probably would have quit the project without the community supporting us... but god... should I have passed up Colbert? Or E3? I dunno. Every time we showed the game we always assumed people would suddenly not like it anymore... but instead the hype would just get crazier. In an alternate timeline, imagine if we could just be showing it for the first time tonight and launching tomorrow? Imagine how fun that would have been...

But yeah, I was thinking recently about how it'd be amazing for some big game like this to drop unannounced like Bowie did with his album. But probably unrealistic given the scale of everything involved.

I haven't watched one second of streams. I can't wait to go in completely blind and figure out the mechanics and everything. It's gonna be so good.

I know the PC version will "look" better but will it have better textures and models? Because if it doesn't I will probably get the PS4 version.

Because gimmicks are terrible on streams? I just want to watch someone without all the "x has donated y dollars success!!!!!!" shit that covers their screens. Its one thing I hate about Twitch.

Just IGN and Gamespot that is. Many others are fine.

I dont understand how they dont realise people are there to take in the game, their job is not to take us out of the experience and yet they hire people who cannot abide 2 seconds of silence, people can say "Mute the stream" but part of why I tune in is to listen to the sounds of the game.

I am all for exploration in games and this game seems to offer endless of space to explore but watching footage for a while now it makes me wonder how long the fun will last until it becomes boring.

Wow, you're getting way cooler planets than me based solely on those pictures. I started out on a poisonous gas planet, and then went to a strange planet that was almost entirely ocean, a couple of okay planets, and then my favorite so far, a volcanic hot planet that was burning me slowly, and also had (no idea if this is spoiler or just a random occurrence so I put it in spoilers)
weird black alien growths on the panels.

But those pictures are beautiful!

I guess that could be right if you do actually find someone.

The difference is that in No Man's Sky it does not bring players closer to you. You have to accidentally bump into them, and that's HIGHLY unlikely.

There is nothing to go on. Up till this week there was no info on the PC version and even now the info is vague at best. All I've heard thus far is 21:9 will get support and fov sliders will be in there. No info on the graphics settings, input methods, etc etc

Checked my order status this afternoon, said it was ready for pick up. So before going over there, I called Best Buy to make sure it was ready for pick up. Was told nope. Hopes dashed. Just got a text message from Best Buy saying my order is ready and can be picked up tomorrow. Such a tease. Heh.

My first planet was radioactive. This was probably my 10th planet I have visited? Soo lush!

Whadya know Amazon pulled through and let my UK card pass on the US store. Download is almost complete and US account set to primary. I'm ready to roll. I take it I need to switch back to my UK account after the download and unlock has been done?
