Seeing you guys get defensive. It's funny to see Gaga fans defend everything she does even when its mediocre. She can literally fart for 4 minutes and some would buy it and call it the revolution high art of pop.

alternatively, she could literally release bad romance vol 2 and people would call it shit.

it is impossible to have a serious conversation about Gaga.

The production for Perfect Illusion is actually pretty damn great, but they chose to put Gaga's voice at the forefront here and the production is merely a backdrop. The official instrumental is actually insanely good.

My main point is that if you don't like Gaga's voice in Perfect Illusion, you're not going to like the song because her voice is given the stage as opposed to allowing the production to do most of the heavy lifting as has been the case with pretty much every other major Gaga single.

I dont mean a carbon copy, but simply a song that's an instant like-able hit (like her TFM stuff). This argument that people will always shit on gaga is bs; back in her Fame Monster days she was one of the best/biggest pop acts that made a lot of people go nuts for her. Sure there were people who hate on her for her shtick and all but overall she was popular, and helmed to be the next Madonna..her music was interesting and buzz-worthy. Now? You vould say that things have changed.

Also, Cheek to cheek was a different kind of album, so...

I know Cheek to Cheek was a different kind of album but it was undeniably a success. Except on here and ATRL, where it was a flope.

Okay, I'm all for artists trying out new styles/sounds. But Perfect Illusion is just not very good imo. I get what she was going for but.... ugh idk. Like WHO was it made for? Who decided that PI was the best lead single? Needed some more time being edited/recorded.

The song is REALLY repetitive, lackluster and sounds unfinished. It's not first single material.

This is imo obviously.

Is there any way to watch Lemonade in HD besides TIDAL? Her last album got a Blu-Ray release but this one hasn't and despite people's claims, iTunes does not sell music videos in HD, so the version included with the album purchase on iTunes is SD

I think it sounds like a lead single for an album, it's just not an album I would ever wanted to listen to. Perfect Illusion is loud and abrasive, and it needs some work. The chorus is catchy, but in a way that you would mock because it sounds funny. The "it wasn't love" sounds ridiculous and is just downright annoying. There is also no breathing space because she is singing constantly i.g., you can never really hear the beat.

Yep, this song is more a vocal showcase than anything. It's weird considering the army of talent she recruited to produce it. The instrumental's great but hardly stands tall in the song.

I think she saw that radio was taken over by chillpop and wanted to drop a loud hammering rock song to stand out. I do feel like it needed to be fleshed out more, but it definitely has a good enough hook to be a smash. If she plays her cards right this could do really well. It doesn't have legs just yet but I know she won't skimp on the promo.

The pop landscape is looking rough. Gaga looks to come out with another flop, Ari just can't seem to take off from the ground that Demi has caved in. Rih's anti era is coming to an end. A Beyonce song hasn't charted in the top 5 in foreva. Britney's new era seems to have ended as quickly as it began...But there is hope. Because Mariah is coming. Coming to purge the shit music that currently litters the charts. Y'all have been warned..and blessed.

Remember this is a prediction so it could be more or less. If less even Make Me by Britney may outdo it with the crappy 96k.

The prediction for Katy was 150 and got 137 which is not too far from the target so I'll be expecting a 115k best and about 85k at worst.

Too early to make a call yet; I wanna see how far this song goes with a promo push and music video. If the song ends up not resonating and getting shelved as a buzz single then I wouldn't be surprised, but it has potential.

Same. I love PI and I get that many don't but I just hope she will stick to her guns and release the album. If she tries to make it more generic or palatable it will ultimately just end up less uninteresting.

Exactly. An uninterrupted vision is what I'd love to hear.

Really curious where PI stands in the context of the finished album

Wonder if RedOne is still on the album or if he's been scrapped 🤔
