So coming from PS4 only, I have a list of

FH3
MCC
Halo 5
Gears Ultimate
Gears 4

Have I missed any exclusive stuff?
Get Titanfall man it's 5 or 10 bucks and it's so much better than that titanfall 2 crap.

My top 3 most fun exclusives so far this gen are Titanfall, Dead Rising 3 and FH2.

Usually its because you have the TV and console rbg settings not the same.
Set both to limited or if your TV can do full sey both to full. It doesn't matter as long as they are both the same.
My tv (oled ) when set to limited has the same picture whatever the Xbox is set on (standard or pc , ). If I set my tv on full , same picture whatever I put the Xbox on standard or pc but brighter than when the tv was on limited

Settings on the Xbox don't change. Not sure what to put now

Is the account system with multiple XB1s similar to multiple PS4s? Where you set one as the home console where all users have access to your games?

Is crushed black still an issue ? I've read dozen of topics on avs and neogaf and none can help me figure why I still have crushed black :(

You shouldn't have crushed blacks in game with limited/standard. The dashboard and apps still crush though so if you use Edge to calibrate your black levels will be off.

Not looking forward to that either. Haven't got a spare hard drive handy to copy stuff over so will have to put up with the long installs again.

Anyone else having issues with download speeds? I'm wired, my connection maxes out at about 12mbps but even with a completly free line, the Xbox doesn't go beyond 6~7. Have witnessed the same speeds when download FH3, FIFA17 demo and now preloading Gears. PC maxes out fine. Hm.

After being on a Nintendo-exclusive kick the last several years, I picked up the S over the weekend as well as a vertical stand, and chatpad/headset combo. Took advantage of the 60% off with a ton of old accessories, traded in my launch Xbox One... and this console has been such a fresh breath of air. Took forever to install my current Xbox games (MCC, Halo 5, Gears Ultimate Edition (though I'm putting off on installing Rare Replay cuz I'm lazy)), and had run back to Gamestop to swap the included controller (defective) for a new one after the chatpad destroyed the port (that chatpad was kind of a pain to attach as well)...

After the initial hiccups and long installations, I'm absolutely in love with it. Almost as much if not more than my 360 S. Everything is much more responsive, the OS doesn't feel like it was made from string and paperclips anymore (I did test out my fully updated launch console before trading in), the size and vertical orientation are much more convenient with my set-up... been addicted to replaying Halo 1 for achievements, and didn't have to pay for a Kinect I didn't want (I never even took the one with my launch console out of the box). This is how the Xbox One should have been day 1. Kudos to Microsoft for turning the ship back right; I'm very impressed!

Granted I am still in the honeymoon phase, but it has been awhile since I've been legit excited to come home after work and play some games. I can't wait to discover all the things this little box has to offer. :D

I definitely want to pick up Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Gears 4, and maybe a Forza game in the near future as well. Microsoft has a nice exclusive lineup. ^-^

I'm about to pull the trigger for the 4K Blu-ray player but a white console on all black furniture is going to look weird.

Only reason I got this was for 4k bluray. If PS4 Pro supported it, I would've waited for Scorpio. Now I'm gonna have the S for like 14 months and then pawn it off when Scorpio comes out.

Yeah... hard drive space is kind of worrying, even if I'm only buying 1st party/exclusives. I originally wanted a 2TB model, but I'm glad Gamestop at least had the 1TB model. 500GB barely felt like enough with my launch console even with only couple of games. :/

External harddrive. Just move all your games on it and just plug it into your new one and get playing.

Them no I don't have one. My old xbox doors anyway so couldn't have downloaded to a external HDD.

Not that any of that changed Halo being 90GB

Question concerning save data locations: Google wasn't much help. Where is save data for 360 games (like what is on Rare Replay) located? Most of the links are articles I've found only mention being saved onto the cloud drive, but I did find one post claiming that all save data across all Xbox One software is saved on both the hard drive and cloud storage simultaneously.

It would have saved you re-downloading it is what we are saying. Or any of your current games on your old Xbox One.

External HDD us a must folks. USB3 2TB drives are fast, allow the X1 to use its own drive for caching and if you ever need to upgrade/replace your console, you just plug the drive into the new one and you're good to go.

How fast are those regular usb3 drives compared to ssd?

Finally got mine after Yodel fucked up the delivery. Wow its sleek and beautiful!

Silent as a mouse too and the controller is superb.

Played a bit Fifa 17 on it and it defo looks sharper. Very pleased.

100% agreed. It was soooooo nice to just plug in my external and have all my games ready to go.

Can someone confirm whether I can use the new bluetooth controller with Windows 7?

Thinking about getting this and having a wireless controller for my laptop would be a big plus...

Do regular games and blu ray movies automatically upscale to 4K?

Games are upscaled to 4K. When I check my TV's settings for Forza Horizon 2 and FIFA 17, the TV says 3840x2160p.

Blurays are not upscaled by the Xbox, my TV says 1080p when I play a normal Bluray, but of course they're upscaled by the TV (and on my TV still look great). Probably something to do with Microsoft deciding to output Blurays in their native settings, not messing with them.

This says I need Windows 10 anniversary edition to be able to connect the new controller via bluetooth. For fuck's sake...is there no way to connect it if I have Windows 7? Why the fuck do I need a new OS to use an existing bluetooth standard that's been around for years?

Connect with USB

Install the right drivers

Windows 10

For Windows 10, the most current drivers are pre-installed with the operating system and are automatically updated through the Xbox Accessories app. See Update your Xbox One Controller.

Windows 8.1 and Windows 7

When you connect an Xbox Wireless Controller to your Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 PC with a micro-USB cable, Windows will automatically download and install the drivers for the controller. If Windows is not set to automatically download device software, you can check for updates through Device Manager.

Yes. Plus, that gold account can allow other accounts without a gold subscription to play online on the same system too.

Check out Ori and the Blind Forest and ReCore too.

Dumbass question here, but can you use USB drives that aren't self powered, or do you really need one with its own power source?

Running out of plug space and feel I'll need the space on an external drive.

100%

You can use just about any USB 3.0 enabled external drive. The Wii-U is the only console I know of that recommends a drive with its own power source.

Any suggestions on an uhd movie that really showcases 4k? I picked up Deadpool and was hardly impressed. Watching on a 2015 vizio m80 (no hdr) but still felt like video quality wasn't where it should be.

At work so can't verify, but I'm almost positive that when you load up a 360 game, the only option is Cloud Storage. In which case, if you're trying to keep your save game from a 360 game, just move it to cloud storage and you're good.

Cloud storage always works the same whether it was on 360 or Xbox One. It needs a local save file to work off of, so it always downloads the save to use locally. However, for cloud storage it automatically uploads your save file every time it gets modified to keep it in sync. The difference is on Xbox One, you never need to decide whether you want a "local only" save file or "cloud" save file. It only does cloud saves, but regardless, it still needs the files locally to work off of, which is why they are also on the hard drive.

If you're looking to delete a save, I think you can do that if you go into the "Manage Game" option on the Xbox and it will delete what's on the console + cloud storage.

The lack of HDR is certainly going to put a huge damper on UHD in all honesty as HDR and the Wide Color Gamut are the most noticeable aspects of UHD for sure. Resolution differences can be noticeable depending on screen size and the distance to your screen. You can check out Chappie as that is shot at 5k and mastered at 4k and is considered by many to be a "reference quality" UHD movie.

You can use this site to look at only movies which are "real 4k": http://realorfake4k.com/my-product_category/real4k/

One thing to keep in mind is that any movies which were shot on 35mm film technically have equivalent resolution up to 8k, so don't feel like it would be worthless to get older movies on that list because they still will be higher resolution.

I mean you have to be really close to the TV to really enjoy the quality difference from 1080P to 4K, especially since regular Blu-ray already look marvelous.

awesome, bookmarked that page thank you! yeah, i screwed up on the TV. the 2016 M models with HDR werent out yet and the costco rep had no idea when they were coming. had just moved into a new house and the wife was rushing to get a big tv. got a good deal on the last floor model m80. got the 5 year extended warranty since it was the floor model. at this point, im actually hoping it craps out so i can get a HDR set.

Thanks. Was supposed to receive my XB1 S today but then stupid UPS randomly required a delivery signature for the first time ever so I guess I have to wait until tomorrow.

Is there any way to use Netflix the correct way with a 4k set ?

Whatever I watch my TV set automatically to HDR mode on Netflix. Hdr movies , 4K only or even simple hd everything stay in hdr. Makes non hdr content looks too dark

Was yours a Fifa 17 500gb bundle? And where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking? I'm on my second defective unit from Tesco now (buzzing fan) and having trouble getting Xbox support to do anything in a decent timeframe. I'm reluctant to get another replacement from Tesco because it'll probably have the same issue...

Hey all - a little help? I have an LG E6 and just got an Xbox One S. I hooked it up directly to the TV (HDMI OUT of Xbox One S to HDMI 2) and I was expecting to see a lot of checkmarks on this screen to confirm 4K details on my TV.

I was a bit surprised at my results - are these right? The TV obviously supports HDR, not sure why it says it doesn't?
