Am I wrong or are you getting the new camera if you bought the $500 bundle? Looks as if that is the case. Nice.
Specs are the same.

WordEU get's the better lens cleaner tho - that thing is sexy as anything
Ugh I still have no idea whether to keep my pre order or not. These videos aren'the helping. How much space in the room does this require?

I'm telling you man, if there were some interesting games I'd be all over keeping my preorder. But I'm leaning towards canceling since I'd probably just get Rigs and $500+ is too expensive for just one game.Ugh I still have no idea whether to keep my pre order or not. They don't charge until dispatch, though?
Cex, were £10 each when I got mine...tho that was a few months ago.
IGN does an absolutely terrible job! First they claim you can just as well continue to use your Bluetooth headset instead of plugging something into the cable. That doesn't even work with regular PS4 games. And even if you forgive the term and count it as they meant just wireless headsets: no, IGN, that explicitly doesn't work!
Second, they still cling to the notion that the breakout box is there because the PS4 is not powerful enough, and it could have been integrated into PS4 Pro but wasn't. After the facts have been explained countless times over the past 9(?) months they still don't know what this box does. Quality game journalism...
Get a grip, IGN, if you can't figure that stuff out, hire someone to explain it to you!
Fuck. So I can't use my gold headphones with psvr? I am forced to use the earbuds for audio?
I had been looking forward to the PSVR since the pre-orders went live as I don't have a PC capable of OR or Vive, but I just cancelled my pre-order as I don't really see much I'd want to play other than Driveclub and Rigs. Considering it is almost $800 here (CDN), I think I'll wait it out to see how it does and pick it up later.I'm telling you man, if there were some interesting games I'd be all over keeping my preorder. Who said that?
We've seen people using the headphones at events.
You can use any headphones you want but you will have to use a cable to plug them in directly to the PS VR. You can't use them wirelessly through the dongle, to my knowledge.
Why the hell do gamers know more about new tech than the media? First PS I love You and now IGN. It's incredible.
Someone get the knife away from Justine before she kills the guy next to her.
Now that these are starting to show up, can anyone confirm whether the breakaway box needs to be connected (via USB) to the PS4 at all times, even when not using VR, or will the breakaway box pass through the HDMI when not connected?
If/when I do get a PSVR, I'd prefer to not have the USB connected all the time thanks to Sony not having rear USB ports on the PS4 (I understand the Pro fixes this though).
Yeah, I had considered using a right angle plug but just figured it would also be easy enough to keep it disconnected until I was going to use it.You won't have to but it'll be a faff each time so whilst ugly (until Pro) it's the easiest solution. What I do is have a one lead with a right angle plug that comes out of the front - the lead goes off to a USB hub where all the uglyness lives.
Pro will still require the PSVR breakout box. The rumours about Pro not requiring it were just that.so whilst ugly (until Pro) it's the easiest solution.

If you cancel you'll always be the guy who was late to the VR party and you only get to enjoy it after a lot of people already had their first VR experience.I'm telling you man, if there were some interesting games I'd be all over keeping my preorder. Dang. Was hoping I didn't need to bother with the audio dongle on the cord with bluetooth headphones. Haven't kept up with PSVR news much, so I got a little excited when IGN said it wasn't needed. This was also both the first and last time in years that I have clicked and will give clicks to IGN for that bit of naive reporting.
Not sure if this was mentioned. Looks like the US has more content on the demo disk as well:

Can you watch Netflix and stuff with the headset on?
that would be amazing
It looks like the lights were out on the headset. That's why it wasn't head tracking. It normally does. I'm not sure if that was a mode or just broken that you played.BTW we filmed a small portion of Battlezone for PS VR yesterday. It's quite surprising that the game doesn't use head tracking. So you just use the headset for stereo mode.
We've known this for awhile
Why would anyone else's first experience be any concern of mine? If/when I get a PSVR, it will be no different than if I kept the pre-order for day one. Other than possibly getting a better deal and/or having more games to choose from.If you cancel you'll always be the guy who was late to the VR party and you only get to enjoy it after a lot of people already had their first VR experience.
Hmmm, I am suddenly having second thoughts on whether to get a PSVR or to get a PS4 Pro.

Looks like the press is getting it now. Is there an embargo on PS VR stuff? Waiting on Giant Bomb's VRodeo on this.
WHEN IS GIANTBOMB THING
PS4 Pro all the way man if you have a capable 4k tv. That is what i'm choosing anyway. Although i'll get to experience VR from a friend
Why not both?

Yup, I'm in canada and between this launch bundle and the PS4 pro I'm spending almost 1300$ CDN. Not to mention all the games coming out in next couple months that I'll be buying.Ah fuck, I'm back in!!!
Well done PlayStation and your letting people release videos of themselves opening a box made out of paper.
EDIT:
Can't believe I'm spending £700 on PlayStation hardware in the next two months that isn't even on PlayStation 5.

I only have a regular plasma TV. Though I do intend to upgrade once the TVs come down in price.
I have £340 of credit at game from trading in my old phone. I would have considered getting both if they did a bundle of some kind at a discount.
If I were to get the Pro, I would trade in my current PS4 against it and probably get a couple of games.
Yeah man, you should totally go for marginally better graphics over a whole new way to experience video games.
So essentially you can go one now and the other later, I'd go PS VR now and pro later when the system is slightly more mature.

I am tempted to wait and see the impressions of both. It has been a bit unclear what sort of gains the Pro would achieve when outputting to a regular HD tv.
Wasn't Kinect a new way to experience games, too?
It's probably an unpopular thing to say, but what makes us so sure that this isn't a gimmick? PC VR development, by all accounts, has slowed since its initial hype-laden release.
I have a preorder for a launch bundle, but given the launch software, I'm struggling to see the longevity of any of the titles that have been announced. For my money, the tech is really impressive, but when does it translate from an immersive parlor trick experience into a full fledged game?
I'm leaning toward the pro, even with a lowly 1080p plasma.
