Linus goes through the adventure of what it's like to setup the super simple and extremely cheap (I mean, two Titan XPs in SLI... you can find that shit on the pavement) 8K gaming battlestation.

He starting an 1080p game is really absurd. Makes you think of how little 1080p can be.

1080p is bizarre even on a 4k screen. Makes you appreciate just how much power is needed to run these games at that insane resolution.

Pretty cool. Shouldn't he have been able to find a monitor with a smaller bezel?

It seemed like Crysis ran well enough with the settings on medium.

Also, them being able to read the piece of paper on the tomb raider menu was ridiculous.

Yup, pushing 1080P isn't a huge deal on PC anymore, and 4K is very possible on a single Titan X Pascal at max settings in most situations. 8K is apparently no longer a pipedream, assuming you have the displays and money.

8 K is the max if our entire periphery is covered. 8K 90FPS is kind of the end game for engineers.

I thought I heard this before but couldn't dig up a source. It's incredible to think that one day television image quality will be at the point where it will look indistinguishable from reality. I just don't know what resolution and associated specs are required to create that.

All this 8k talk is so 2016, 32k is the real next-gen (per eye for retina VR view). Ofcourse.

/s.

The highlight was ofcourse the 1080p window being that small.

8K is so dense that the flat 2D images can start being interpreted by our brain like 3D [a mild effect]. Several people reported that while watching 8K demos.

By 2018 they'll be a single GPU that's over 10x more powerful than the PS4's GPU, it would be a great fit for a next gen console, seeing as the PS4 Pro is in the mix if there's a 10x jump from that then 2019-2020 may be the best best.

It will be interesting to see if there will be another resolution jump to something like 8K.
In 2018 yes,but will Sony put that gpu inside PS5 and charge $400/$450 for it?
also, how many games right now will support true 4K on PS4 pro?

Most likely not, seeing as we're potentially talking about the power of a next generation flagship GPU.

They'll be other GPUs though which could serve as affordable alternatives, especially if the next generation consoles release in between 2018-2020.

Neither Sony or Microsoft utilized the pinnacle of GPU hardware for the PS4 or Xbox One so they could quite possibly do the same again to provide an affordable console.

Right now less than 10 games have been announced which support true 4K on the PS4 Pro.

Great video, as always.

Good to know even someone who makes a living throwing these builds together still struggles with putting a GPU in.

Yeah I can believe that because I've seen some reviewers say 4k UHD blu-ray can give a 3D depth like effect to the image, so if 4k can give that effect, 8k should give an even stronger feeling of that.

I just came from a shop that had some 4k HDR monitors with some ammmmaaaaaazing videos of animals and nature running on it and, man, it really looked like it was 3D at times, it's crazy. Also black levels were great.

I still don't understand how people play with multi-monitor setup. The bezels are a dealbreaker!

PS. A good percentage of that video is Linus trying to sell me something.
