I like how J'onn and Alex were literally on the road to find Cadmus last season and they just never got around to actually going all the way there. I love this show, but there are some serious gaps in logic sometimes.

Cadmus is the big bad for the first half of the season, so yes?

Does that mean we're eventually getting

Really great premiere. Love how larger-scaled the show feels with the move to the CW. Superman is charming as hell.

So, as soon as we find some way to cross Supergirl-verse into the Arrow-verse, we may have an opportunity to have Dean Cain, Brandon Routh and this new Supes in a show together.

That would be so lit.

A lot of “feminist” TV shows focus on stories about women battling patriarchal forces. But in its own way, watching a powerful man unquestionably respect the authority of a powerful woman is just as much of a feminist statement as watching a woman stand up to misogyny. And given how many stories we already have that focus on women fighting for respect, it’s nice to see Supergirl switch things up a bit. It’s no small gesture to have arguably the most famous male superhero of all time model feminism in action.

Great premiere. Especially considering the heavy lifting in transitioning to the CW & Vancouver. It looks virtually identical but the backdrops are expectedly an issue. (they of course left the Top of Vancouver tower in. UGH lol)

Clark was perfect. Cat was Perfect. Pacing feels tighter, characters are being used far more efficiently.

I'm so surprised and pleased they immediately dumped KaraxJames. lmao

So having not seen the episode, would they still invite Dean Cain back considering he's a Trump supporter lol.

yeah

That “The Adventures Of Supergirl” does all that while introducing one of the most adorable versions of Superman ever seen on screen is just icing on the cake.

Tyler Hoechlin is pitch-perfect as both the Man Of Steel and mild-manner reporter Clark Kent. If anything he’s even more boyish and goodhearted than Christopher Reeve’s iconic take on the character, and Hoechlin is certainly a breath of fresh air for those not so fond of Henry Cavill’s more dour turn in the Zack Snyder films. Though season one’s constant references to Kara’s cousin always felt slightly awkward, they now allow Superman to slot effortlessly into Supergirl’s world.

Tyler Hoechlin made his debut as both Superman and Clark Kent here. I wasn't necessarily sold on Hoechlin after seeing the initial photos of him in the suit, but he really owns the role. He's insanely charming as both Superman and Clark. The show is clearly drawing most of its inspiration from the Richard Donner Superman movies and the Lois & Clark TV series. Hoechlin's Clark is a bumbling but lovable dork. His Superman is confident, compassionate and almost always smiling. This is a hero about as far removed from Batman v Superman's grim, dour Man of Steel as is humanly possibly. Superman is a character that should inspire hope and optimism, and Hoechlin immediately nails that from his first scene.

Man

Hoechlin's Superman works for basically the same reasons Melissa Benoist's Supergirl does. They both have that same warmth and earnest charm. They're both great about contrasting their dorky civilian personas with their superhero ones. And because the two performances share so many qualities, Hoechlin and Benoist play very well off one another. There's a clear, palpable bond between these two characters from the first moment they appear onscreen. I think what always bothered me the most about Superman's absence in Season 1 was the fact that it implied some sort of rift between the two characters (like how Superman shunned Superboy in Young Justice). But thanks to this episode, that perception has been permanently shattered. And best of all, it set the stage for Superman's potential recurring role this season (for now, he's only confirmed for the first two episodes). I'm not sure how hanging around National City is a good idea for Clark, professionally or in terms of his relationship with Lois, but I won't complain.

He has a lot of fans now..

I can't stop smiling this episode, I love how Supes is already fully established; everyone knows him.

I love this show. I can't wait for season 5 when we get the full Superman family; Lois as Superwoman, Superman, Supergirl, Conner Kent Superboy and Krypto.

Metallo oh shit.

jon bones

hot hot hanuman-on-man action
"season 2" of CW shows really like to have some fun with scope-expansion.

Arrow nailed it with the escalation of Slade, Flash embraced the multiverse and Supergirl deftly handles Superman's entry.

let's get it

Is there a firm idea of what's happening with Superman? Is he sticking around this season? While I really like him in the episodes, they really leaned on Donner/Reeves winks and nods and that only gets you so far til you need to develop him as a character. I'd like to see that.

And where's Maxwell Lord?

Thing is with this Supes, it is like he's well established, so he may just work better as a foil to Kara whenever he appears. I'd rather not give Superman a Arc.

Atm he's only in the first 2 episodes though.
