Coming in November, $249 or $299. Calling it now.

Why do people still think its gonna be delayed? The time to announce a delay was this week, and they didnt.

This isnt a game, where you can up and delay it a month before launch, this is a game system, you know if its gonna be ready about 6 months before it comes out due to production and stuff, they know its ready to come in March, which is why they revealed it now and are ready and set for the event in Jan

nintendo

what are you doing man

Coming with NS trailer for speak about it 3 months later... Nice marketing Nintendo ! And off course they miss the holidays period ! Hahahahaha...

Why they dont hype the NS in november/december ? Why they want to speak about it in 2017 ? ... God ...

People looking for Christmas presents aren't that interested in a system releasing in March.

Because they have other things to market and it comes out in March

Starting to feel like aggressive Gamecube Era Nintendo but it looks like this time it bought the hand-held gang back together with the Vita dead, Nintendo gets those games uncontested.

The ground is shaking lads.

The signs are good that they think they're sitting on something special. Hopefully they can hit the right price point and guarantee a launch line up including some new and exclusive first party games.

Because other holiday releases and other console launch(PS4 Pro) will affect the hype for this.

Doing it later you will have the news day to yourself.

I wonder how much of the venue are the renting because the Tokyo Big Sight is bigger than the venue used in last year's TGS.

Interesting (positively) to see they are leaning into the home console aspect, not the portable side. January -> March seems a good spread to me. Most surprising of all is that this presentation is LIVE.

Cool, at least we have a date now.
Now it just bums me out that I'll see this before I get my hands on KH 2.8 T.T

Are you Entertained now? lol. With this, at least we won't see those when is Nintendo presenting Switch info prediction+ Doomed thread lol.

So being just before the launch they'll likely show their entire 2017 release schedule right? It'd be stupid of them to hold back their holiday title for E3.... right?

I want to be blown away, BotW, 3D Mario, Pikmin 4, Animal Crossing, Retro's project (pls Metroid), Xenoblade 3, Bayonetta 3, Monster Hunter 5, Dragon Quest XI, Mario Kart/Splatoon/Smash Bros ports and more.

They'll probably save one or two things for E3. If Mario is their holiday title they'll still show it though. They need something to keep the hype going all year.

I feel that they are positioning it as a home console that you can play as a home console anywhere which also happens to be able to be played as a big handheld. It's certainly different, and in a good way.

they probably just rent 1 or 2 halls, so I guess cost isn't bigger than renting the whole Makuhari Messe

this seems different... atypical moves from nintendo recently. Live conference with date, announcing everting. Must have some confidence in this

i don't understand anything anymore

there is literally no point in trying to predict how nintendo does shit cause they seem to pull ideas out of a hat

new console reveal? tease it on twitter 12 hours before we release a 3 minute video to the world

games reveal for said new console? how bout we announce this 2+ months in advance. and it'll be a live ass expensive press conference at a huge ass conference center

standard nintendo direct? it'll happened every few months, we'll give like 2 or 3 days of notice, whatever. and then it'll be like 20-45 minutes long of prerecorded footage.

maybe they'll have an e3 press conference next year. or maybe not.

You know I'm glad they announced it now, now people won't have to post "SWITCH DIRECT WHEN?" everywhere.

I think they might have gotten annoyed at the whole pre-NX reveal

Our girl Emily Rogers claims that Retro isn't working on Metroid, or "Fucking Donkey Kong" for that matter.

Granted, she isn't always 100% correct (see the Female Link thing) but it's still something to consider.

Thank god it isnt fucking donkey kong, the game everybody needs to say they love but everybody actually hate it

Can't say I'm shocked.

I rather see Retro do something new, maybe a new IP.

It's time to let go and realize Nintendo is too unpredictable.
