Yeah, I'd be surprised if Sigma's not in the game.

During an interview with Michael Evans (Capcom) and Mike Jones (Marvel) it was said from Evans that X would fit very deeply into the story of the game. They're going mega-hard with the story this time, thankfully. Given Sigma's the main enemy of the X series and given the guy at the end of the trailer looks like Sigma...

The fact the statues in the stage look like they have Sigma infections on them..

We'll be fighting Ultron and Sigma as a tag team and then they'll fuse together to be this thing we see at the end of the trailer or something like that. It's only a matter of which Sigma we get and when they'll announce him. All the signs point to him.

So we'll get X and Sigma and as for other reps from the Mega Man series? Honestly, I don't think anyone who's not Zero doesn't have a chance. Zero's got the best chance given they can reuse him from MvC3 and change things up a bit. Personally? I'd love either Bass.EXE or even MMZ Zero but for time and convenience purposes, it would be far easier to use Zero from X.

Oh dang. I didn't notice or even think about the Sigma virus infection of the statues.

No one talks about the balance/competitive level of these older games because they weren't popular and there is hardly any footage of high level play. These games were far jankier and unbalanced than Marvel 3. Marvel 3 is actually the most balanced, least broken of these games!

MSH in particular you could do some nasty stuff with the gems.

When I made a fan roster for UMvC3's original roster size that was mentioned by Niitsuma (he said originally they planned 20 characters for Ultimate rather than 12), so Cloak & Dagger got a spot from me, and that one was specifically because I wanted them.

I don't see how Cloak and Dagger could work without being together. All I've ever seen Cloak do is pull people into the darkforce dimension. I think he'd be used to teleport Dagger around the screen, in supers, or for Dagger to toss enemies into his cloak as a health draining grab

I would argue that Bucky is one of those B-listers who might or might not be in.
He's a supporting character to Captain America, but it's also very possible that he will be taking up the mantle of Captain America once Chris Evans is phased out of the MCU, so if Marvel wants to put in characters that might be a future presence in the MCU, Winter Soldier could be in.

I think it would be very possible and cool to have Cloak & Dagger as a 2-in-1 character. Obviously Dagger would be the "main" one you control and Cloak be the support, but I always liked "puppeteer" style characters in fighting games. Zod, Rosalina in Smash, Carl Clover in BlazBlue, etc.

yeah, that's basically what I was thinking. Cloak would always be floating beside Dagger as a support.

I tried to come up with a roster for Marvel but I failed hard. That side of the roster is going to be produce the salt.

Capcom's side is relatively straight forward mostly because they got it so right with Marvel 3 (minus no MMX and Gene which is easily rectified).


For Stages I only want to see moonlight raining Temen-Ni-Gru from DMC3.

Obviously under moon light so you can see what you are doing in it.

Need the demon world as a stage too

Also Dante and Vergil need to have a special Jackpot THC when they are on the same team.

the people who think old vs games are "more neutral heavy" are probably the same people who think ST is the most fair and honest street fighter

I recently heard that Groot can "assist" a certain character (I'm not going to outright leak anyone by name), but it was really vaguely worded and I'm not sure if MvC1-style assists will be revealed at a later date or if this specific character has Groot summon moves. Either way, it doesn't sound like he's playable, but we'll see. (Don't take this as confirmation of anything, but I thought it was worth mentioning.)

Yes, that's correct. But I'm going to go ahead and assume it is. Switch is a fresh console and all of the publishers like to support fresh consoles with their new games. This is coming out the same year the system is launching (Allegedly) and this already isn't exclusive (coming to XBONE, PS4, and PC already) so it's pretty much a guarantee in my opinion.

Assuming this is the case, Groot summon for a specific character--can't be anyone else but Rocket, right? Doesn't really make sense with any other character I can think of. Unless there's like a Star-Lord that can summon the whole crew with special moves which would be lame and unlikely.

The closest I can imagine is a Captain Commando situation, and it worked there. I think it could be fun, even if I would prefer separate character spots for each.

No, he's been locked away with red tape for years now. There's even an official statement by one of the higherups at Marvel that said that his game rights are not with Marvel right now. Nobody but them knows the exact details, but both Marvel licensees and Disney subsidiaries haven't been allowed to use Namor in ages.
It seems to only include Namor himself, though, since his villains have appeared in various media and games.

That said on still think people should be optimistic about a new VS game as its rare to get them to begin with. Embrace the change, so to speak. If it's ass then it's ass. If not then get the hype rolling!

If we get any RS characters it probably will be Batsu or Akira, and that would be cool too, but I'd personally prefer other characters to get some spotlight.

Nagare and Hayato fighting styles would suit the over the top nature of the vs. series perfectly IMO, and I just happen to really love them both.

Disney and Marvel (and Star Wars for that matter) generally are being kept separate. Disney Infinity was the only exception to this.
