Upcoming Vita Games (200+ Upcoming games in ENGLISH) || 2016 Edition ||

On the off chance that Fady reads this, is there any chance of a 2017 thread? I realise it's a huge task to go through the list and weed out the released/cancelled/MIA ones and add in the new ones, so am just asking if it's a possibility :)

Two things:

1. Do you guys know of anywhere outside of the NISA store that will be selling the Rose in the Twilight standard edition? I don't want another bulky LE if I can help it but European store is only selling the LE.

2. Do you guys know of a list anywhere showing PSP & PS1 games compatible with Vita in Europe? Can only find ones for USA.

194 games according to my spreadsheet. I'm aiming for a complete english collection with all US, EU, Asia and JP titles. Collecting for the vita is really fun - if you exclude the japanese exclusives. It's like a door to another world there...

I'm only getting english exclusives from other regions. Still, I'm having some issues finding Samurai Warriors 4-II and Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires.

No luck at Heavy Arm Store? They are usually in stock there for the last couple of months. You might also ask fellow gaffer wilflare if he is still helping out with imports. He is from Singapore and bought a few games for me.

Heavy Arm Store doesn't post a restock for those two for months. I asked Wil on Twitter, he found one of those, but never got back to me.

Odd. I ordered both games for a friend in October. But I guess the restock was just really small. But sometimes they don't know what they are doing. They sold me copy of SAO: HF once without any stock. I only heard that weeks later after I wrote them an email.

Just pre-ordered all four Vita limited editions available on NISA Online Store. I'm getting Shallie Plus from VGP, as I'd get all of them if NISA didn't turn them back to being exclusives. It's a ridiculous amount of money, but they'd get even more had they decided to make Vita limited editions for Cladun Sengoku and Touhou Genso Wanderer.

It was about time this thread succumbed to negativity again anyway
Too much positivity for a vita thread. I'm amazed it's coming over but somehow not surprised the vita version isn't

You guys are crazy, I think I have between 40-50 and I consider that high.
I have 12 and it consider it a high amount. Still won't stop me from rebuying some of my digital purchases but I doubt I'll ever come close to some of the collections here.

If you find a Bandai Namco Vita game cheap, go get it. Many of them are out of print now. It took me many months to find DBZ: Battle of Z for a decent price.

Is anyone still waiting for their copy of DQB from Play-Asia? Supposedly shipped over a month ago but still nothing.

Aren't you in Canada? If you are then it's normal. Up to a month after it arrives in Canada is when I get my Play-Asia orders. Feels more like the Canadian border's fault than P-A's. If you have a P-A account then you should be able to see if it arrived in the country at least on Singpost.com using the tracking number.

Honestly, every release in my collection at present (minus HTOL#NIQ and Monster Radar) is a game I want to own because I want to play. I'm not going for a full set or anything like that - aside from storage space I just don't want things like FIFA or MLB because I'll never play them.

I am going for *some* Japanese-only games though. Generally I buy Asian-English releases pretty religiously (only skipped DOAX3 and Moe Chronicle so far, though I intend to get DOA at some point) but Japanese-only games I only buy if they're heavy in gameplay and aren't available in English at all.

So far that's led to just Gundam Breaker 1; Irregular at Magic High School: Out of Order & Ukiyo no Roushi. There's plenty more I want though - Macross Delta Scramble & World Trigger: Borderless Mission are next on my list. Generally I find the Bamco anime games are easy enough imports, especially if I like the anime they're based on. I need to get Girls und Panzer at some point.

I'm gonna have a tough decision to make with Dragon Quest Heroes. I am Setsuna & Nights of Azure I ended up skipping because no Vita version - may pick up for PS4 down the line because they perform like crap on Vita and have heavy story from what I can tell. But I expect DQHII to have little story and it seems to perform great on Vita, so I kinda want to import then just use a localized guide to play. We'll see!

I asked John Hardin about whether there was any chance of a physical release of Caligula and got a pretty flat-out no.

Boo. I wonder why they just gave up on Vita physical with this release, they managed it fairly well up until this point.

edit: Even more clarification, this one's a definite definite no huh?

0. I have exhausted every avenue to try to get a phys version but it's not going to happen

I wish they did a limited physical release of Caligula, just like with Arno Surge Vita

More on Caligula:

I know - trust me, I've gotten a lot of the same sentiment which is why I went to bat for a solution, but none to be had :(

https://twitter.com/JohnLHardin/status/807291804143874048

not even a 1-in-a-million chance.

But some good news at least:

https://twitter.com/JohnLHardin/status/807291705653362693

Every game is its own special snowflake. Caligula does not signal the end of physical for Vita from SEGA/ATLUS

I'm sure they would consider it if they still had a partner that would be willing to do a low print run, but they kicked Nisa to the curb. Sega and the higher ups at Atlus also likely do not trust LRG enough to do one, even with the name they've been making for themselves lately. Then again Atlus could also be like Xseed where they see LRG as competition and don't want them to have a piece of their pie, although "competition" is a strong word when there is none.

Honestly, I don't even understand why they're bothering with this game if they don't deem it worth a physical print. It is by no means a small game and making it digital only may as well be sending it off to die.

13 Sentinels

We kinda need literally any info for that to be on the radar lol. At this point I would expect it to be a Vita/PS4 (I think it was Vita only when they announced it?) title anyway since they've gone so long without saying anything.

It's already been announced for PS4/Vita, I don't quite get this sentence.

If you're saying you don't expect it to be PS4/Vita, I don't see why Vanillaware who released a PSP title in September 2011 would have a problem releasing in 2017 on Vita.

IF it releases in 2017 :p.

Ah thought it was Vita only when they announced it, thought the complete lack of info was because they decided to add another system, guess not.

Vanillaware tends to be pretty quiet until the game is nearing completion. Outside of development troubles with the game itself, I wouldn't be too worried, as Odin Sphere Remake and Dragon's Crown did real well for them.

Apologies if this is old news, but UK retailer 365games have many of the recent Vita announcements up for preorder with release dates. Their track record on this front is far from terrible, but obviously these may change (pqube releases tend to get moved most):

God Wars: Future Past - 03/03/17 (but Amazon says 07/04/17...)

Operation Babel - 28/04/17

Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds - 12/05/17

Mary Skelter - 14/07/17

I just bought a new 3ds, i like this console too , it has improved from its predecessor but i think Vita is a really neat design hardware wise. I mean the "2nd" stick on the 3ds is really awful , the eshop is a mess , much much worse than psn vita shop. no charger? wtf . The horrible noise it makes when i move the 3ds upper screen to a locked position,

Im gonna get the 30 (in total) games im interested in playing for this system and buy Vita games at the same time.

Most of japanese or indie games i like ,have Vita ports and plays and look better on the playstation console. I think regarding the 3ds's catalogue , me being a person that does not play or like pokemon, animal crossing , monster hunter (for some reason im more a Toukiden- Soul Sacrifice guy) or mario games except maybe for mario land, i find really hard t find cool japanese games like for example Gunvolt.
It has some cool JRPG games like shin megami tensei IV/Apocalypse and xenobladez, the zelda games Kid Icarus etc but buying this console again ( i had the 3ds when it launched and got a really poor line up back then ) just made me realize how the Vita fits perfectly to my tastes and how much i love the console.
Dont get me wrong i love the 3ds , im one of the few people that likes the 3d effect also.

So the good news are that im really excited for the next weeks as im gonna be switching (no pun intended) from one console to the other playing some really nice games.

PD: Pokemon , animal crossing or mario lovers , even nintendo fanboys , this is a very subjective point of view , of course talking from what i like . Both consoles are the way to go for me

PD: retail Vita games? i have 56 and this month im reaching 60 buying world of ff and exist archive (despite the critics)

Well I've done it. After much nerviousness I actually ordered something not from amazon.

I have now preordered Rose in the Castle of Twilight* to experience another great 2D horror in brutal physicality.

Only weird thing is ordering from NISA store it won't send me emails. I created a account there and never got a verification email even after many resends (not in spam either) and when I ordered as a guest with a different email it never sent me one either. But it took money from my credit card and put it back in and I can still check order # tracking on their website that says "processing" whcih I guess means this is normal and it'll say that until it starts shipping. I better get it OR ELSE.

*Atleast I think thats the name. It takes time for me to remember new names.

So we are near the end of the year and I wonder : what are your most wanted ps vita games for 2017?

Mine:

Forgotten memories ( if it ever comes out)
Zodiac
13 Sentinels ( I have hopes for this in the west)
Salt n sanctuary
The longest five minutes
Cladun returns
Mary skelter
Danganronpa v3
Fallen legion
Boi afterbirth ( I'm hoping this will be a reality next year)
Hearth forth Alicia

And a few more I don't remember now.

I'm hoping the new Valkyria is good. Also looking forward to Ys & Tokyo Xanadu. And hoping that the Final Fantasy collection materializes & (finally) has a good version of VI. Also that the Neo Geo ports continue, and we get KoF '98 (hopefully UM).

And I'm living in a fantasy world where Persona 5 Platinum gets announced for Vita.

I wasn't aware Caligula had even been announced for the west. Any word on an EU release?
