I know it opened second, lol. That was the PAL data I was referencing. Analysis of its total units sold reflects a moderate decline from XIII. GAF's own analysis, at that.

Welp. I don't know about the versus stuff but the points related to the FF15 we got sound plausible and in-line with the leaks from earlier this year. If it wasn't clear before, this would confirm that the team ran out of time with this project and had to just cut as much as possible in order to meet deadlines.

The game actually running well is already a pretty good achievement all things considered, lol.

That's why it angers me so much. It's not that it was bad (it was), but more that so much effort from so many talented people, along with so many amazing ideas all ended up being for naught.

Square has some of the best artists, musicians and programmers in the business and they simply can't find anyone competent to manage or direct all of that talent. As someone who fucking loves huge grandiose AAA games it drives me crazy not seeing them live up to their potential.

Dunno if the leaker is legit, the answers he gave on the dev issues XV had sound very believable, though.

That versus plot sounds weird... which is consistent with Nomura stories, I guess. That Stella reveal would have been either really good or really bad, depending on the excecution.

I assume that "afterlife" would have been the unseen realm of FNC mythology.

Man, reading all of this...it hurts. It actually hurts. More content would have been great. I'm hoping that all this gets patched in but that is absolutely not likely.

That Versus XIII story is really interesting but come on, kill Stella at the very beginning?! Seriously?! At least Luna had more screen time but come on!

95% of me believes this new chatter about the World of Ruin changes. What we got made no sense, the entire experience felt rushed, and half of what you expected to see was simply missing.

I honestly love that supposed Versus XIII plot so I really want to believe, some classic Nomura, haha. It'd make me sad we didn't get that but it does give me some peace of mind knowing what it would've been.

Now the Versus XV one, that just sounds fake... But I wouldn't be surprised if Nomura'd try and revive the thing after he's done with 7r though. He released that piece of KH art with the Noctis and co poses so he clearly hasn't let go

I wouldn't to be honest. No proper proof the Versus leaker is legitimate. Just a lot of little things that make a whole lot of sense.

edit: too late! I suppose that title works

Actually, I don't think it's fair to call the plot weak because we don't have any context. But it's really funny that they would kill Stella at the start of Versus XIII.

I still can't exactly express the pain I feel about the underutilization of the dream motif and whatever it was they were trying to do with the whole metaphysical aspect. Coulda been no less vaguer than FFXV already is, but at least on an emotionally shameless scale, lol.

Do we know if some of these sequences made it into the final version of FFXV and were just (poorly) recontextualized? Because there were several times while playing XV that I thought the story was going to go in this sort of direction... (then again, if this is made up by some rando, they likely had the same thoughts and posted them as ~insider info~)

It's pretty amazing how this can simultaneously sound like bullshit and yet not be removed from the realm of possibility considering how much they had to add to the game with the delay, the day one patch(crown update) and the future patch which will add additional story cutscenes.

This doesn't make sense though, FF has had some great female characters before.

Man, that plot sound pretty bad. If it is true then I'm rather pleased we didn't get that version. The ending in that sounds like somebody decided to rewatch the last season of Lost and cram it into a game.

I mean I don't think her getting abused, and constantly talking like her only goal in life is Noctis is much better.

I'm not even mad those scenes got cut. I hated Luna's characterisation in Kingsglaive because of that.

Which hype? The trailers were actually focused on Noctis and his party members. The fans hyped Stella for no reason.

In the UK. The way you framed it made it sound as if you were referring to the PAL territories, which isn't the case.

I really hope that Eve didn't cheat on him or something. If she has to be a villain then I hope the pregnancy is just a hallucination due to his coma or its something symbolic.

They've always had semi-legitimacy. As with most things on 4chan, you need to take it was a huge grain of salt and sift through the signal/noise ratios.
