So my FPS drops to 1 when I pan the camera but if I just walk around without touching it it stays fine. Wtf is going on?

edit: ah the good old headset drivers issue, gonna get my senns.

Hi,

Do you already have issue with 5.1 or 7.1 sound ? It seems rear sound is broken with my configuration in this game (I don't hear voices in the rear for example)

If you haven't encountered this in any other game / use scenario, it's the game. Multiple reports in this thread about BSODs.
I post this from time to time, but it always bears repeating: a game cannot BSOD a system which is running correctly.

If you get a BSOD one of the following has to be the culprit:
- The hardware
- The OS
- A kernel-level driver (like the graphics driver)

Of course, a specific (potentially invalid) instruction sequence in a game can uncover a bug in any of those other components, but it wouldn't be able to cause a BSOD if they were working correctly.

Maybe you should try this fix :
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=806615157

For my part, I had vertical black bars AND and a small aspect ratio issue during gameplay too. This link resolved both issues for me.
(I have LG 4K TV)
Interesting, this solved it for me as well. Kinda weird the game would display 3840x2160 as output resolution but instead pick 4K DCI?
God bless CRU. Helped to fix PC HDR on my TV and now this weird issue :)

A follow up to my strange selfie glitches I posted about before.

Here's a regular screenshot:

And here's the photo saved by the in-game camera:

I took a ton of photos today (going after the ScoutX locations) and only this one looked different when I compared the two shots.

Yup. Only regular BSOD I've ever had was due to an unstable CPU overclock, and it was usually triggered by a CPU-heavy game. Less demanding games never triggered it.

Upped my voltage by 0.5, and the issue disappeared.

If a game is "causing" a BSOD, it's probably your system. And if you haven't seen the BSOD happen up until a certain game, it likely means you weren't pushing the system hard enough to expose the existing instability.

Like, EasyAntiCheat.sys?

I obtained this game from the SSD deal they're doing, but I can't for the life of me get it to run, it crashes to a black screen every time I try to load a new game, regardless of any of the settings I have it on. Its actually the same case for Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

i5 3570k
GTX 1070
8GB DDR3

Once in a while I'll get an error message from Watch Dogs about a memory issue, nothing from Syndicate. These are the only two games I have run across that will never run for me like this, even Ubi's other games this year, Primal and Division run just fine. Any idea what could be causing this, or anything I could try to solve this problem?

Did you purchase a Samsung SSD, and if so, do you have Samsung Magician open in the background? If I have it open, certain games (including AC) exhibit that behavior on launch.

The Steep beta gave me a BSOD, and my computer is only a few months old with everything running at stock (or at least factory OC'd) clocks :/

Should I be worried then?

I did say "Only regular BSOD I've ever had." As Durante stated, it can sometimes be due to a driver issue. But in my experience, it's usually due to user error/system config issue, and the given game is merely triggering it. Mileage may vary...

Edit: just saw your edit. Should you be worried? Not really. I believe the BSOD itself is to prevent permanent physical damage to the system components. As far as I know, the worst multiple BSODs are going to do is simply fill up your Minidump folder.

You guys think that full on adaptive graphical options would be viable? You know, the way we have adaptive resolution and whatnot, but to put an option in the graphics menu of a game that would let the game lower any graphical options on the fly to keep a target framerate?

Games such as Forza Horizon 3 already do just that.

Couple of games we've had with this option haven't been anyhow different from those that don't so it's hardly a solution to all the performance problems.

Yes of course you're right, I meant worried about any of my components being faulty. But I've never had any trouble with anything else (Prime95, Forza Horizon apparently being quite demanding of RAM, many games stressing my GPU and others being CPU-intensive), so I'm choosing to tell myself it was a beta and it doesn't mean anything ^^

I did indeed, and that program was open in the background. Unfortunately, after closing it, both games still crashed in exactly the same manner. I even uninstalled the Magician, just to be thorough, and got the same results. Watch Dogs 2 is displaying the window that "the system ran out of memory, and must close the following program" after crashing.

Believe it or not, 8GB of system RAM often isn't enough for recent games without the assistance of a generous pagefile. How big is your pagefile? You may need to bump it up.

Turns out I had to reallocate the memory being provided to all of my drives. After installing that SSD it basically cut of memory resources to everything but my C: drive and as such was crashing every game I tried to run(with the exception of Darksiders: Warmastered, oddly enough, must just be that lightweight)

Anyway, playing Watch Dogs 2 now, everything seems to be smooth sailing. Thanks for the help, it got me thinking on the right track

Question:

I am trying to play this with a controller (xbox one connected via wireless receiver) but randomly the controller just disconnects and it is driving me insane as it always seems to be at the worst time.

I have tried new batteries and different controllers but this doesn't happen on other games.

Whats going on? Is this common?

Have you tried turning the anti-cheat system off? It doesn't play nice with wireless controllers. You do lose the multiplayer though.

I have not tried that no, how much of an experience am I losing by doing so?

EDIT: Wasn't that as it still does it... Having to play with KB&M which is fine, except for driving.

My controller is also constantly disconnecting, but it's wired... I had the same problem with some other games before, but my usb cable was too long, works now fine with a shorter one.. except for WD2.

It almost always disconnects a couple of seconds after I get detected and get into a gunfight. Have to reconnect the cable, but this game doesn't pause on controller disconnect, which means I'm dead if it happens.
Don't know it's a coincidence, but I got tired and switched to kb/m, got into the fight ... and the game crashed.

Haven't tried disabling anti-cheat yet.

The anti cheat thing made no difference for me.

Ok, so I'm playing today and I can no longer lower forklift forks with a controller. Tried two different Xbox One controllers, the A button still works for every other function but it won't lower forklift forks. I have to switch to keyboard/mouse to do it.

What the hell happened?

This is weird. I have a 780 and a 4670k at 4.4. I gave up trying to get 60fps early on as the visual downgrades required were a bit much for me. I've locked it at 30 and have most things turned on, shadows at high to keep my VRAM (only have 3gig) in check.

When I first boot up the game it runs like straight garbage for 5 minutes or so, with huge dips into the teens and stutters everywhere. Then after a short while it evens out and plays at a locked 30fps. What the hell??

new patch on PC version...

This Thursday morning, we'll be releasing PC Patch 1.06.135.7, which is a follow-up to PC Patch 1.06.135.3 that was released on December 2nd. This patch focuses on making improvements to our integration of EasyAntiCheat that will make your experience smoother, without sacrificing security of online play. It also includes some bug and crash fixes, which we are continuing to investigate.

• Updates to EasyAntiCheat integration o Adds compatibility with MSI Afterburner (Guru3d RTSS v6.5.1, v6.5.0, v6.4.0, v6.2.0):

- Fixes [Crash on launch] EAC / DotLocal DLL error message issue

- Improves known issue [Multiplayer] Anti-cheat Software / Not Enabled. If you are still experiencing this issue, please review the FAQ

- Other compatibility improvements

• Mexican Spanish available for Steam players in Latin America

• Fixes [Steam] [Extra Content] Missing Content / Twitch, an issue that prevented Steam players who received the Twitch Prime bundle to see it as installed in-game.

• Fixes [Bug / Glitch] Full Gallery] known issue where players with Windows accounts with non-ASCII characters were seeing problems

• Fixes [Crash on launch] Disc Error / Steam issue - General stability improvements during gameplay (e.g. fixed a rare crash when firing a weapon)

-----

I can confirm it enables RTSS 6.5.1 to work now

Can anyone confirm if the new patch fixes the Xbox One S bluetooth wireless controller issue? I can't get to my PC to test until Sunday. Thanks.

my performance has dropped somewhat after this most recent patch..

used to be mostly 60 fps @ 4k w/ temporal filtering.. now I'm dropping below 60 in places that I didn't before.

I wish they would do what nixxes does for their games and provide the option to roll back to a prior release if it worked better for you..

There is really something weird with the performance in this game (yeah, UBI open world game, shocker). Often, the game runs perfectly fine and all of a sudden it will stutter and slow down to a crawl and then, in exactly the same spot, back to running normally. Wtf ?

I7 6700k, 16GB, 970 with clean install of the latest drivers (as some people suggested for the patch before but did nothing). I lowered some settings, the more demanding ones but it will still for absolutely no reason run like shit from time to time.

It might be that this game is optimized like ass, which is a shame considering it's otherwise great fun.

Does anyone know why I can't lock this to 30 fps? I've tried sparse vsync setting in game, nvidia control panel adaptive half refresh rate, and limit to 30 with Rivatuner and none of it is working. I don't care about 60 fps and just want to crank up all of the graphics with a locked 30.

Something weird just happened where when in hack vision the game runs at 60fps and when I turned it off instead of dropping to around 30 like usual it stayed at a locked 60 where it was just struggling to run at 30 fps and was in the 20s before. This is with mostly all highest settings, HFTS, 1440p and no temporal filtering. It was so smooth the entire time in that mission area, I left the area and drove around and was still getting 60 fps with slight drops to 56. Was the smoothest I've felt the game run, then after about 20 minutes of running perfectly it went back to dropping all over the place and staying between 20-40 fps. Even went back to the same mission I didn't finish and the area I ran around 5 times with no drops from 60 was now running at like 28 fps again.
That was weird and so smooth, wish the game always ran that good.
Damn sorry on phone meant to edit not double post.

So idk what is wrong with this game but my 4 Cores (I5 3570K ~4.2 GHZ) are all the time at 100% when im ingame. I cant explain whats wrong here but this game is dropping into the 30FPS Zone way to often. Cant handle a stable 60FPS a single time because of this CPU Usage. Doesnt matter what im doing its ALL THE TIME 100%. Thats what im calling a broken mess. Not with me Ubisoft, im done.

The game can put even Intel's enthusiast-level CPUs through their paces and eats AMD CPUs for breakfast:

With the possible exception of a well-overclocked 6700K, eight threads just isn't enough for a consistent 60fps, let alone four.

It would be nice to see those tests with a RX480 instead.
AMD graphics have less cpu-usage in games, thats why I didnt bothered to change my card to a GTX1060.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezwu460BwR4 for example with cpu-usage.

edit: RX480 in crossfire that is, that I wanted for the tests.
