Final Fantasy XV |OT2| For Jared!

Is it just me, or is the map insanely fucking terrible in this game? Choosing between fast travel options is a nightmare because of the way it jumps around the map; I don't have any of the names memorized, so it's always really tough to pick out where I actually want to go.

And I *really* wish you could have multiple quests active at once!

wonder if there are any good combat mechanic videos out there.

I feel like there is hidden depth here that the game just doesn't bother teaching you.

How am i suppose to use noct's 'overdrive' mode properly? Feels like its super weak and its super hard to keep track of whats going on so I end up taking a lot of damage.

Someone said in OT1 to use Ignis Regroup before or after using a AOE Magic...do you guys mean with L1...? because when I use L1 in wait mode,I have the 3 green rectangles for each guys but its only an attack,is there something else on that green rectangle to cycle some of their skills...? never noticed yet lol...
You can unlock more skills from the Ascension Grid and then equip them from the Gear selection screen for each of the party member.

The fast travel interface is horrible, the auto focus on location don't work at all...

Guys I got my very first game over screen
by crashing the Regalia Type-F, trying to land it.

:lol

Goddamn, I really do hate these "find x in this circle" missions.
That early one from Dino is a bitch because it's technically not in the circle. So magitek and beasts keep showing up if you aren't quick enough. Fireballs were on my ass at one point even. Goofy oversight.

Summons can appear anywhere. People who say they're location based are wrong.

They are location based in that certain summons appear more in certain areas of the world map. Ramuh has a much larger area of appearing than the others.

Only at chapter 6, is anyone else spamming gravisphere and either destroying the group or spamming magic right after? Works decent for me

Did anyone else have trouble navigating Altissia? I had an easier time getting round the Temple of the Ancients in VII. I can see that cafe over the river, but I can't find my way to it.

Regalia -> Auto -> Map point -> Use the cursor to select the stop you want to fast travel to

There's no need to find the location you're looking for in the list.

Take the gondola. It's not very confusing once you get used to it, but it is cumbersome.

IINM, you have to equip it in your Gear before it'll show up in the L1 menu.

Ah ok thanks,I am only at the start of chapter 3,didnt notice I could equip those, the guys each do something but its an attack...

Thanks, will check there to see which one, probably only one for now, they use.

When I did the first one in the game (I think it was Dino's?), I wasn't even paying attention to the circle, just the quest marker... so I went to the "!" and was just looking around there going WHERE IS IT??? Then I looked at my big map and saw that it was an area I had to search. LOL

Lol I remember that one. Yeah it was some bullshit.

Some of the dumb ways the game blocks you off is just so dated. I truly hope they continue this type of game for the next one and actually apply some things western devs got right a long time ago. There's so much good here...

I tried, but then I was looking across to the Cafe from a different river lol. I've somehow ended up back at the dress. If I look at a youtube video, I should be able to follow a guide from here.

Now anyone can tell me what was wrong with chapter 13? The only issue I had was
The driving my god it was sooo terrible the controls was impossible
other than that it was fine to me. Now
Costlemark Tower is a hell hole with those rubic cube logic of floors. Never will I step foot in there.

Lmao, I'm so glad to have the OT to discuss FFXV. The official SE forums are littered with Korean spambots and my thread got lost in the sea of spam. That place needs moderators really badly.

I was so lost there in the start. Took me a while to memorize the whole map area. Keep the Gandola Rides as the key points.

Got up to Chapter
14
. I'm gonna save the last for tomorrow but I'm really excited to see where it's going. Everything going on right now is insane lol. Love it.

Whoever recommended getting the Skill for Driving and Chocobo AP first, thank you kindly. They were the first skills I got and I've been drowning in AP so far.

Finally done. So glad I'm done. One of my least favorite games in the series. It had some great moments, mostly involving
the Archaeans and the fights with them. -- Seriously though, why the fuck did I only see Ramuh in battles? The requirements are stupid.

The combat and fishing were the game's saving graces but even those can't really carry a game by itself. The story and its ending were a huge disappointment for me.
And that ending was so typical of something Tabata would be involved in. Can we stop the madness? Please?

There was a lot of potential in this one, especially with the cast. I like Noctis, love Prompto and Ignis. Gladio can die in a Regalia fire. It's just a shame that this open world existed because it was just one overly large area with a huge lack of interesting content. The most engaging things were all inside the story which was mostly linear content that people cry about. Even then, I wasn't a fan of the game's frustrating maze like dungeon design either.

Final Fantasy XV is beautiful, has an incredible soundtrack and lovable characters and some great set piece moments. Bad MMO quest design, overly long travel times that do not respect the player's time whatsoever until Ignis finally gets the balls to drive at night. If it weren't for
the fact that Ignis wasn't such a badass in the story with how he handled his blindness and how he pulled everyone together and was their rock practically
I would have thought Ignis was a giant pussy for the rest of the game.

Overall, I give this game a 7/10 which still feels kind of generous given my qualms with the game, but given current review standards and people rating things a little bit too high, I don't want to undersell how I feel about the game. I can't wait until a good RPG comes out to wash the bad taste out of my mouth though. Hope Persona 5 is that game.

When I played that section with the car I was feeling relief and refreshment because it felt like I had more control of it than in the open world. It felt really nice to me. Not realistic, more arcady but it felt right.

You got to update us man, how far are you now?

I dunno how far I am. Just passed another camp after some wyverns. If I had known it was this long, I wouldn't have done it now or would have stocked up more. But I feel I'm too far in now to stop. This is seriously stupid. I don't know how they go from making these really great dungeons to these pieces of shit lol.

Just tried the dungeon with the random elevator switches which if wrong leads to a room full of enemies. Such a terrible design, shouldn't of been random at all. Mind end up skipping that dungeon entirely because of that.

I know I should push on with the story as I'm 32 hours in at chapter 8 and level 50 just from sidequests. Lol. Can't help it though gaming ocd says do it all first.

Still playing without Ascension Grid?

yeah, i'm leveled to 55 atm and my companions at 51 each. haven't used the Ascension grid yet aside from 1 box to the right of noct from the first tutorial at the beginning. currently have 956 AP points.

the only issue i've run into: my party can't kill any wasp type creatures. i've been doing level 45 hunters quests regularly with ease (rank 4: 30/50 stars currently). one level 38 quest mission: killing wasps and my party gets destroyed. the wasp levels are at 28. so i'm guessing it's bc of the lack of ascension grid. i hammer away for about an hour and wasps barely get a scratch.
