1. Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
2. South Park: The Fractured But Whole
3. Tales Of Berseria
4. Persona 5
5. Horizon: Zero Dawn
6. Yooka Laylee

I might finally get a PS4 after I narrow down my Steam backlog and before Switch comes out so I can put some PS4 games on there.

1. Kingdom Come: Deliverance : Seems like the most promising medieval combat game to date, but I fear the writing and combat could turn out to be a little too clunky.
2. BattleTech
3. Nier Automata
4. Tacoma
5. Prey

1. Persona 5:
I feel like I've be one significantly less excited due to delay after delay after fucking delay (and then there's the hideous font, urgh), but I still want to see it win most anticipated because I love me some persona, dammit. And I think 5 will be pretty great.

2. Breath of the Wild:
If I'm being honest, this is my true most anticipated game. I feel like we've seen a fair bit and yet hardly anything - and even despite the consistent delays, I'm still super excited to finally play it. And it's gonna be on the Switch, SO. Especially excited. I just hope the dynamically changing music is good enough to justify the absence of catchy melodies from Zelda's past. /:

3. Yooka-Laylee:
Banjo-Kazooie might be my favorite game of all time, so to say I'm pretty excited for YL is an understatement. It looks and sounds charming af and seems to carry over the same sense of humor and fun, vibrant adventure its spiritual predecessor did, so I can't wait. The demo was great, too, which is a great sign.

4. Nier Automata:
Close call between this and Gravity Rush 2, but everything I've seen of this just barely edges out GR2 in terms of excitement. The intense choir-heavy music mixed with the fast paced action is soooo good.

5. Gravity Rush 2:
More Kat? Yes pls. Game looks great; music looks great. I hope it controls a bit better than the vita version. But either way, I'm looking forward to it in a major way.

6. Mass Effect Andromeda:
I didn't finish 3, but this one looks sick. Hopefully it lives up to the legacy of the first two. I'm very curious to see if they can bring us some characters as fantastic as 2's.

7. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Collection:
I'm way more excited at the prospect of playing KH 1 and 2 in 60FPS than I probably should be lol. I even bought them on PS3 and never played them and now I can't play them because no 60FPS! I'm the reason KH3 isn't here yet; I'm the problem.

8. Kingdom Hearts 2.8:
Aqua. <3 As a sort of prequel to 3 that's finally running on next gen software, I'm stoked.

9. Sea of Thieves
Water.

10. Crash Bandicoot N. SANE Trilogy
Game looks questionable but I loved the originals so meh I'll put this on the list.

1. Nier Automata
2. Persona 5
3. Horizon: Zero Dawn
4. Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite
5. Mass Effect: Andromeda
6. Ni-oh
7. Resident Evil VII
8. Gravity Rush 2
9. Yakuza 0
10. Red Dead Redemption 2

1. Persona 5 : After such a long wait, winter 2014 is finally here!
2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild : I'm all for giving the Zelda formula a good shake, let's see if this game delivers.
3. Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony : Even after the DR3 anime fiasco, I'm still hyped. Hopefully Kodaka brings his A-game this time.
4. Nier: Automata : I've never even played a Yoko Taro game before, but this game looks really amazing.
5. Cuphead : That smooth old cartoon look combined with the hectic action we've seen in trailers gives me high hopes. Considering how long it's been in development, let's hope it's great.
6. Sonic Mania : I've been waiting a long time for a new good traditional 2D sonic game, and boy, does this give me hope..
7. Horizon: Zero Dawn
8. Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom
9. Yooka-Laylee
10. South Park: The Fractured But Whole

1. Sea of Thieves : Love MP games, love the aesthetics, as long as the gameplay looks good and has fun sailing, I'll be in.
2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild : Want to buy a switch and this is the first Zelda game that's interested me outside of Windwaker.
3. Yooka-Laylee : Loved Banjo as a kid, this looks great.
4. Cuphead : Like the old-timey aesthetic but probably won't spend too much time on it. Not a big boss-rush/SP guy and the characters (main ones) aren't my cup of tea.
5. Gravity Rush 2 : Don't own a PS4, but liked the first one and can't wait to see how the 2nd one turns out.
6. Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World : LOVE Yoshi's Woolly World and can't wait for this version.

1. Persona 5
2. The Legend of Zeda: Breath of the Wild
3. Monster Hunter XX
4. Yooka-Laylee
5. Horizon Zero Dawn
6. Mass Effect Andromeda
7. Nier Automata
8. Gravity Rush 2
9. Red Dead Redemption 2
10. Marvel vs Capcom Infinite

I think this is the first time something edges out a LoZ(on a year it would release) game on my list.

People are wilding out here leaving Horizon: Zero Dawn out of their lists.

1. Horizon: Zero Dawn; Amidst all of the (often unwarranted) "criticism" the game gets, each trailer looks beautiful and sets a gorgeous looking world that I'm looking forward to exploring.
2. Mass Effect: Andromeda; Travelling to planets and discovering new wonders in the galaxy sounds enticing to me so far. The game looks great and I am hoping that Bioware learned from their mistakes and improve on their quest design.
3. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild; This game will sell me on a Switch and everything O've seen so far looks fantastic. I am really looking forward to it.
4. Nier: Automata; This game looks really fun and I'm looking for a character action game to play.
5.Gravity Rush 2; First game was unique and flying around using gravity is absolutely amazing. Studio Japan built on the foundations of the first game and look like they are creating a real gem. I want to see the origins of Kat and the world.
6. Persona 5; I have stayed away from looking at any information regarding the Japanese release so I am going in blind. As I said in the previous voting thread, this game oozes style and charm.
7. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remix; I can never get enough of these games, and hopefully this time I can platinum Kingdom Hearts 2.
8. Red Dead Redemption 2; The only reason this is lower on my list of games is because it's coming in the fall. I absolutely loved the first game and I am looking forward to this one.
9. Tales of Berseria; I like Tales of games, and I skipped out on Zesteria after reading criticisms from many who played it. I like what I've seen so far so I hope it's great.

There are so many games that I would love to list but since they don't have a 2017 release date, they'll have to pass.

1. Persona 5
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
3. Ni-Oh
4. Resident Evil VII
5. Dark Souls 3 Final DLC
6. Mass Effect: Andromeda
7. Nier: Automata
8. Ni No Kuni II if it actually comes out will be a lot higher on this list.

I don't have a full top ten yet... I probably need more of an idea what the next christmas season is going to look like.

5. Resident Evil 7
6. Ni no Kuni II
7. Nier Automata
8. Red Dead Redemption 2
9. Scalebound
10. Nioh

I would've added Days Gone, Detroit, AC Osiris, and Dreams if they had a release date.

Yeah last year most of the games on my list got delayed. This is the third or forth time Persona and Zelda have been on the list. It just seems silly.

1:South Park: Fractured but Whole
2:Horizon Zero Dawn
3:Red Dead Redemption 2
4:Mass Effect Andromeda

Love these threads.

I'm just going to drop a nod for

1. Oxygen Not Included : I've really been digging the Colony Management Sim genre of late (RimWorld, Prison Architect, etc.) and the marriage of this with the stylistic trappings of developer Klei Entertainment makes me sequel with delight.

I always wanted to be a Dwarf Fortress guy, but the great granddaddy of the genre continues to be a bridge to far for my puny mind. But thanks to half-steps from the makers of RW & PA, we get a taste of DF, albeit distilled in favor of accessibility, but I'm cool with that.

ONI feels like the next logical step in that direction. A slant on the Colony Sim with actual gosh-darn presentation values layered on. And coming from Klei, gorgeously stylized production values to boot.

Can't wait to try this one on for size.

1. Horizon Zero Dawn: there’s no way I would have believed a Guerrilla title would top my list for the year but a combination of great concepts, compelling feedback from those with hands-on time, and a near-term release has this at the top of my list.
2. Zelda Breath of the Wild: this is the reason I bought a Wii U which is either very exciting or really disappointing depending on whether I get a Switch as well.
3. Uncharted The Lost Legacy: following the Uncharted 4 masterclass in storytelling and character development, I can’t wait to see how Chloe and Nadine get fleshed out.
4. Red Dead Revolution 2: the initial trailer tells me that Rock Star knows the environment was the star of the first title, and that makes this a must-buy for me. I can't wait to explore a cutting-edge title from the studio without the painful forced satire and despicable protagonists that have become the hallmark of the Grand Theft Auto series.
5. Mass Effect Andromeda: while it had issues I was actually a fan of Inquisition, so I’m hopeful this will strike a balance closer to Mass Effect 1 or 2 than the dreadful cover shooter devolution of 3.
6. Persona 5: not the biggest fan of the series but I’m looking forward to seeing it evolve.
7. Nioh: reminds me of Onimusha, hopefully with some additional depth and learning from Dark Souls.
8. Prey the oddly un-numbered non-sequel may have a rough history of betrayal, but I'm a huge fan of System Shock and the vibe is very much alive in this. Not to mention Dishonored 2 was a pleasant surprise for me this year.
9. Knack 2: the first was flawed but promising, and it gets so much undeserved hate that I couldn’t resist listing the sequel above FFVII Remake.
10. Final Fantasy VII Remake: I’m actually concerned about how this will play out but also very curious after FF XV showed real promise for Square-Enix’s return to form.

I had to cut Nier Automata to get the list down to ten once it became clear that RDR2 was considered to have a TBD 2017 date. I haven't listed God of War, Vampyr, or Vane despite being eager to see more of each because I don't think there's solid evidence that any of them are coming out in 2017. If I did add them they'd be inserted above #3, #9, and #10 respectively which would make it a top 13 list. Perhaps it's just as well.

Mario Switch would be my number one if it was allowed. Seems pretty silly it isn't since we have seen footage of it and all signs point to it being the main Switch launch game. The pole should have been extended until after the Switch reveal in January imo as it will greatly effect many peoples most anticipated games of 2017.

I would've put RDR2 if I had even played the first game. I'm hoping to change that by the beginning of next year.

1. Persona 5; I loved Persona 4, and I played Persona 3 earlier this year and loved that too. It's quickly becoming my favorite JRPG series.

2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild; It's fucking Zelda on a new system.

3. Mass Effect: Andromeda; I love the universe of Mass Effect. It's probably my favorite franchise from last generation.

4. Nier Automata; I love Platinum and I love Nier.

5. Gravity Rush 2; Played GR Remastered earlier this year and thought it was a neat little game. Without the limitations of a handheld, this game could be something special.

1. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild : my favourite game series goes back to its roots on a new console.

2. Nier Automata : the original was one of my favourite games of its gen. Hope for more amazing music and storytelling.

3. South Park: The fractured but whole : sequel to the first game i played on my first gaming pc. Love the humour and new gameplay additions look stellar.

4. Yakuza 0 : 1980s yakuza. What's not to like?

5. Tales of Berseria : Zestiria was my first tales game this year and it hooked me for 30 odd hours. I'd be mad not to be hyped for this.

6. Mass Effect Andromeda : ticks all ny sci fi boxes. Hopefully the sense of exploration is there.

I couldn't decide which one of the two first I want the most, so I went with alphabetical order :/

Also, I am missing two games from my list, but I'm pretty sure they will be switch-related games in the future.

So this year we will have the return of last year's two, three, four and sixth most anticipated game. Not to mention that this will be Zelda's third time on the list and well we won't mention how many times Persona has been in the top 10.....

1. Mass Effect; Andromeda- I have loved this franchise since it's inception many years ago. I replay the trilogy almost annually. This game has the feeling of being the best Mass Effect yet. With many worlds and new species to discover, I can see myself sinking countless hours into the game.
2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild- We have been anticipating this game for a long time and with good reason. The E3 blowout was great. This game appears to be one that will easily take a hundred hours away from my life, and then I might be done with the campaign.
3. Horizon: Zero Dawn- Another game that we have been waiting for a while. The reveal at E3 was incredible and it hasn't failed to impress me since. This may become my favorite PS4 game ever.
4. Yooka Laylee- This game represents my childhood. I've longed for the return of great N64 style 3D platformers. I hope I get to play this on the Switch.
5. Sonic Mania- Another nod to a better time in gaming. Sonic has had it's ups and downs over the years, but with the collector's edition pre-ordered I am ready for the return of 2D Sonic glory.
6. Crash Bandicoot Trilogy- Crash has been locked away for quite some time. We have begged for his return and our prayers have been answered. Hopefully this sells well and we see a new Crash adventure sooner rather than later.
7. Red Dead Redemption 2- The first RDR game was an impressive experience. I don't normally say this about modern games but the music was amazing. I look forward to seeing what Rockstar will provide us again.
8. Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite- Street Fighter V has introduced me to a genre I once thought impossible to play. I still suck at fighting games, but I now feel like I have a chance to play them and win a few matches.
9. Dragon Quest VIII- While new DQ games have been few and far between in recent times, playing the remakes have been a grand experience. I look forward to this game as well.
10. Gran Turismo Sport- I am not a big driving simulator gamer but I have a lot of respect for this franchise and what it has done for the genre.

For the record, it is very hard to make this list and only know about one home Nintendo Console game that is coming out in 2017.

Persona 5's time to shine and win at last.

1. Persona 5
2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
3. Horizon: Zero Dawn
4. Mass Effect: Andromeda
5. Gravity Rush 2
6. Detroit: Become Human
7. Tacoma
8. Nier Automata
9. South Park: The Fractured But Whole
10. Ni no Kuni 2

I'll add some explanations in a bit as I only have a tiny bit of free time right now, but I wanted to drop this as a skeleton at least.

1. The Legend of Zelda - Breath of the Wild: This really has the potential to be one of the finest games ever made

2. Yooka-Laylee - I'm pretty sure this was on my list last year

3. Resident Evil 7: Looks like a true return to form for Resident Evil

4. Red Dead Redemption 2: Never played the first but this looks fantastic

5. Lady Layton - The Millionaire Ariadone's Conspiracy: Always loved the Professor Layton games and a new protagonist sounds great

6. South Park - The Fractured But Whole: The first is one of the funniest games I've played

7. Mass Effect - Andromeda

8. Horizon Zero Dawn

9. Uncharted - The Lost Legacy

10. Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy

1) Persona 5 - I loved Persona 4 and have desperately awaited the release of Persona 5 since its announcement. It feels like it's been a lot of not-hearing-anything, then hearing something, and suffering through another delay. Now that the game is actually out in Japan, the game is apparently still subject to delays for us North American folk, but it's almost here, and I really can't wait to finally get back to balancing social link systems by day and engaging in supernaturally-driven mysteries of the heart and mind by night.

2) Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - I'm a Legend of Zelda fan and this is looking to be the most open and free-form game in the series to date, seemingly rivaling a sandbox experience similar to MGSV with less of a stealth focus, plus it looks gorgeous and feels like the best impending Switch release so far. It's mostly just hype for the next Zelda game, but it's also anticipation for the next major Nintendo platform for me.

3) NieR: Automata - To stress, I am not a NieR fan. I attempted to give it a shot some time back after I heard some impressions from the cult following its earned, and it just wasn't for me. What's doing it for me on Automata is that it looks like a proper PlatinumGames character action game layered with some solid RPG mechanics. The art style is certainly appealing to me, but I admit its status as a NieR sequel isn't what's exciting -- it's that it looks like the biggest, most polished PlatinumGames offering since Bayonetta 2.

4) Ni-Oh - Souls series sensibilities meets Team Ninja character action is a very enticing idea, and the brief time I've spent playing the technical tests for the game seem to indicate this game is going to deliver. A satisfying challenge and a good sense of atmosphere are carrying anticipation of this game big-time.

1. Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite
2. Project Sonic 2017
3. Sonic Mania
4. Dragon Quest XI
5. Scalebound
6. Yakuza 0
7. Nier: Automata
8. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
9. Dragon Quest Heroes 2
10. Injustice 2

1. Nioh : I played the alpha and beta more than a lot of titles I paid full price for. It's a perfect example of how you can take influence from another series and really turn it into its own thing — brilliantly so.
2. Persona 5 : What else can be said? The import impressions have only made me grow more impatient.
3. NieR: Automata
4. Horizon: Zero Dawn
5. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
6. Mass Effect: Andromeda
7. Gravity Rush 2
8. Yakuza 0
9. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom
10. Resident Evil VII

2. Persona 5
3. Super Mario Switch
4. Yooka Laylee
5. Yakuza 0
6. NieR Automata
7. Sonic Mania
8. Tekken 7
9. Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite
10. Tales of Berseria

1: Legend of Zelda; Breath of the Wild ( The first interesting Zelda since Twilight Princess. Art style looks gorgeous and the new non linear gameplay is something to look forward to.)
2: Sdorica Sunset (Looks great and it's being made by the incredible Rayark devs, the same ones who bought you masterpieces like Deemo, Voez and Implosion)
3: Persona 5 (It's Persona, you know it's going to be a top tier jrpg)

1. Horizon Zero Dawn:
Stunning visuals, robot dinosaurs, open world, RPG, robot dinosaurs. It's everything I ever wanted in a video game to be honest.

2. Red Dead Redemption 2:
The sequel to one of my favourite games ever and the first proper ground up next gen Rockstar game. Very excited.

3. Mass Effect Andromeda:
I love pretty much anything by Bioware and the original Mass Effext trilogy is one of my favourites of all time. Can't wait to punch a journalist again.

4. Wipeout Omega Collection:
My childhood is back, in glorious HD. My favourite racing games of all time with awesome soundtracks. Bring it on.

Fantastapotamus

Wrong about commas, wrong about everything
1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: It's a new Zelda. I'm still super skeptical cause they seem to incorporate a lot of elements I would describe as "unnecessary bloat" but at the end of the day....it's a new Zelda game.
2. Divinity: Original Sin 2: OS I was amazing, the EA version is amazing and they are holding back some of the most awesome sounding things for the final release.
3. Torment: Tides of Numenera: Wasteland 2 was a good game but had some flaws. I hope inXile was able to learn from those flaws. Planescape Torment is the best game ever made so I'm more skeptical than excited for a "spiritual sequel" but I give inXile the benefit of the doubt. At the very least I hope for a decent RPG in a unique and interesting setting. I really hope they will be able to nail the story aspect of the game.
4. Yooka Laylee: I just want a good, fun 3D plattformer god dammit.
5. Prey: I'm hoping Arkane can make a game reminiscent of System Shock in 2016

I...can't really think off anything else.

1. Red Dead Redemption 2: How do you even follow up Rockstar's greatest game?
2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: Looks absolutely stunning.
3. Kingdom Hearts II.8 Final Chapter Prologue: But glimpse at what KH III will look and play like.
4. Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age:Hopefully this version fixes all the gameplay problems I had with the original NA release. Can't really fix the story or characters, oh well. (Vaan with shirt free preorder DLC please)
5. Ni-Oh: Dark/Demon's Souls but by the guys who made Ninja Gaiden, 'nough said.
6. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll happily triple dip.
7. Horizon: Zero Dawn: Looks fantastic.
8. Mass Effect: Andromeda: Cannot wait to see the multiplayer.
9. Nier Automata: Need my character action game fix.
10. Persona 5: Winter 2014 my ass. About time.

I've been doing these lists for 3 years and Persona and Zelda have been on all three, with this being the second consecutive year they're my top 2. Here's to hoping it being the last time. Overall proximity of release weighed pretty heavily in my rankings leading to Red Dead being so low and after a year and a half of numerous showings I'm not really as into Horizon as I used to be.

01. Mass Effect Andromeda: It's Mass Effect. I can't help it.
02. Ace Combat 7: Going back to Strangereal + Looks like it will be similar to AC4/5. Worst-Case Scenario, we get another awesome Keiki Kobayashi Soundtrack.
03. Persona 5: Liked P3/4 and everything we've seen so far (Avoiding Spoilers, so only saw Trailers and Atlus Streams back when it wasn't even released on Japan) but heard a lot of praise from people who imported it.
04. NieR Automata: Platinum? Yoko-Taro? Nier? Just like AC, Worst-Case Scenario, at least we get a good Soundtrack .
05. Resident Evil VII: Didn't like the change to First Person, but it's starting to grow on me. Also the "going back to the roots" thing is cool, even though I liked RE6, not a bad game, just a bad Resident Evil.
06. Gravity Rush 2: The first caught me off guard and this one looks even better.
07. Star Wars Battlefront 2: Hope they fix all that was wrong with Battlefront while keeping the good things, everyone involved in the "Sound Department" did an awesome job.
08. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: Not planning on buying a Switch right now, but if a game can make me change my opinion, sure it will be this.
09. Prey for the Gods: Didn't play SotC at release, but liked the Boss Fighting Mechanics, hope this can deliver.
10. Final Fantasy XII: International Zodiac Job System: Well there's not much to say, an HD re-release of the Japan Only Edition, so if you didn't import now it's the time. A few gameplay fixes, but not like it's a whole new game.

1. Horizon: Zero Dawn : Excited for this new adventure of GG, Ive been on and off with its media exposure to contain myself. Robo-dinos.

2. Red Read Redemption 2 : God damn Rockstar is in the house, sequel to one of the best games of last generation. Hype is through the roof even if it gets delayed in R* fashion to 2018.
