Has the Sainsburys 2 x DS4 v2 @ £59.98 offer been posted yet?

Shamelessly stolen from hotukdeals;

If you dont want 2 x v2 controllers you can flex the order how you want as there are some other decent offers currently e.g. Deus ex £16.99, GTA £24.99 etc

Step 1: Add 2 x PS4 Dualshock v2 controllers

There's a deal on hotdealsuk going around to get 2 PS4 DualShocks (V2) for £58, just ordered mine. Seems like an alright deal considering would be closer to £80 otherwise.

I've noticed ShopTo has VR bundles in stock... really tempted to get one!

Seems you can get a PSVR and camera for £390 with next day delivery.

Are Shopto notoriously bad or untrustworthy. I vaguely remember people from here saying they were a nightmare!

Never had an issue, I have bought 4 consoles from them and loads of games.

They were hacked about 6 or 7 years ago and some people had their card details used by a third party.

not the best, not the worst, but relatively fast and reliable. Never had a problem with them. The worst part is the website, it's complete garbage

Thanks for the feedback SlickShoes, YianGaruga :)

Ordered one.

Agreed the website is pretty bad, looks incredibly dated (just had a look in Browserstack and it looks exactly as it should on IE7, which gives a good idea of when it was developed).

They were tweeting on Friday they had VR units in stock, and I've just ordered a bundle and paid but it's hard to see if they actually do have them in stock, or this is just a pre-order for when they do get them in stock.

On Dec 20 and 21, Media Markt Germany will see 60€ gift cards for 50€. If you want to buy a console or maybe even a Switch next year, it should be worth it.

Can someone tell me how returns work in Europe (amazon more specifically)?

I ended up buying 2 earphones last week, one new and one from their warehouse. I like the warehouse one more so I will keep that for sure. Now I have this new one that just arrived and I want to return it to Amazon. I selected the option 'I dont want it anymore' and they sent me details to return it, but I dont know if I can open it (it's sealed right now) or if I can open it and send it after with all things.

I never returned anything that I bought 'new' so I dont know if I can open it before doing so. (I want to open to be sure that I want to return it because I paid 20 when it usually costs 35, so maybe it's still a good deal, but I can only know that by testing it ofc).

Exist Archive for both PS4 and Vita is $19.99 on amazon.com

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ESA0W96/?tag=neogaf0e-20

This didn't get a phys release in Europe and comes out to 25€ with shipping, no risk of customs.

How is it so cheap for Europe?

It was coming up as £23 for me in the UK. That's including the cheapest chipping and customs deposit.

(Not that I'm complaining or anything, still a great price so I already jumped on it)

It's 5€ more to have it shipped to Portugal and what's up with it being risk free of customs? It didn't charge me any customs fee upfront.

amazon only does pre-paid customs as far as I know. If you don't see it during checkout there will be no risk of having to pay something later.

Try it with a more expensive game and see what it shows you at checkout, it should include custom charges

This is how it looks to me with an item that includes customs

I guess different shipping costs? It's ~$5 to Germany and there's no customs deposit. The threshold of having to pay customs is ~28€ in Germany, so maybe it's charging customs for other countries, didn't think about that.

and £23 is still only 27.50€, not that much of a difference

Our treshold is 22€ including shipping costs, that's what's confusing me right now about my purchase. Anyway, I'll believe that I won't have to pay extra to get the game.

Here's the amazon help page about this topic

https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/?nodeId=201117970

and here's the list of countries, which includes Portugal

Should be good!

Got my Sainsbury's PS4 pads turning up today, how can I tell if they're V2?

don't the new ones have a light bar on the top as well as the regular spot?

I dunno but I suspect they are much more likely to take the return if it is still unopened.

Thanks Yian, I sure hope so despite reading the following under notes.

Your packages may be subject to the customs fees and import duties of the country to which your order ships. These charges are always the recipient's responsibility. For more information, go to About Import Fees Deposit or About Customs, Duties & Taxes.

It'll be the customs deposit then.

I forgot how shit the UK's limit is in comparison to the rest of Europe. Anything over £15 and we get charged.

Amazon shipping makes no sense sometimes really. When I try to buy PS4 version for Exist Archive shipping is 7.5 USD and if I go for Vita it is 9.1 USD. Wut?

Yeah, it's weird. Maybe it comes with the OST/art book. Not the first time Amazon ships games with bonus items without it being advertised. E.g. they had stock of the Conception II LE for the longest time and at some point shipped it out to several people ordering the regular edition when that was discounted.

I wouldn't count on it though. ;-)

I made a Grainger Games account so I could buy FF14 on PS3 for £1.25 (apparently you can upgrade for free to the PS4 version) and they put my password in plain text in the registration email... awesome. Another games retailer I will be exclusively using Paypal with.

Kind of a weird one, I'm moving out into my own house and I'm looking to get a new TV

My budget is £500 and I want it to be 4K, have HDR, and be about 49/50'' in size

I've had a look at the TV threads and they're such a clusterfuck, and it doesn't help that the same TV's have different names for the UK and the US

If it's mainly going to be used for gaming, is there anything that you would recommend for that price range?

(Also, I don't have a Pro yet, but will get one soon, so I'll mainly be playing PS3/Wii U games on this TV for a while, do 720p games look like shit on 4K TV's?)

My honest recommendation here would be to check around physical stores, like John Lewis, at least for reference purposes. Aside of potential Christmas deals, you might be able to find something in clearance that's decent at a knocked off price.

The issue with that is that TV's never really advertise if they're good for gaming or not, you need to research which ones have acceptable levels of input lag, so while I might find a deal doing that, I might get home to find it's not that good for gaming

I can't help you at that budget and size but 720p games still look great on my Sony 4K TV. It's not at all like playing retro games on a HDTV if that's what you're worried about. I have an old 720p HDTV and I think 720p games look a lot better on my 4K TV and while a lot of that is because TVs have simply improved a lot since then, it's reassuring all the same.

YMMV, other TVs might not upscale old content as well. I can only vouch for Sony.

I have the grinding fan issue with my Xbox One S and Tesco will not budge at all. I have informed them of the law but they keep directing me to Microsoft. They directly lied to me about Microsoft being their official choice for repairs of consoles, and put me through to Microsoft. When I asked the very helpful person on the line at Microsoft, he informed me that the replacement will be through Microsoft and Tesco will have nothing to do with it. I got back to Tesco and again, they told me that Microsoft is their choice, I informed them that Microsoft told me different and I was told that Microsoft are wrong. I asked him if Tesco is part of an ADR scheme and he said something along the lines of, ''No, everything is done through trading standards.''. He then kept repeating to me that I need to go to trading standards if I have a problem. I phoned back again about an hour later and was told by the same person that he has the right to ask me to repair the item and Tesco will reimburse the repair costs. I asked him for the legislation that says this and he told me again to go to trading standards.

I will add that this was the manager. I asked for somebody higher up than him and got told he was the highest up.

It is a minor defect with the system but it is still a defect that might get worse in the future. I am shocked how bad Tesco have handled this. At this point it is about Tesco following consumer law more than it is about getting a replacement. I can live with the fault. I can even let Microsoft replace it. But I will not allow Tesco to ignore consumer law.

I was speaking to a different manager about this earlier on and he said the same thing. The strange thing is when I phoned back an hour later to get that same manager, I was told he was not in that day. I then asked a different manager why I was told that by a CS rep and was told that he is in but the system shows he is not. I assume that would be a health and safety issue? If the system is showing him as off, and there is a fire, is that not a hazard?
