There should be an icon on the map, assuming you downloaded the latest update & the seperate expansion.

http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/turn10_postsm642536_Stuck-on-Buy-Now-screen-for-Blizzard-Mountain---Workaround.aspx

There's a work around for people having the buy now issue, if that's not the issue you're having try starting a thread on the support forums about it.

Sucks that you're having these issues man

Thanks but that was not the problem :(
Guess I need to contact support atbout the whole achievement situation regardless and maybe it's really connected.

Almost...

I like the one you got better, tbh.

These challenges are getting a bit harder to do. The side swipe one especially

Ended up giving up on that one, even though I 3-starred almost everything else.

Yep some of them are quite hard. I'm having difficulties with one of the 'earn 250k points' challenges. Normally I score big in offroad races, but the track doesn't give you a lot of opportunities to bump up the multiplier (long wide straights, long jumps which can easily end your attempt).

If you're talking about the one in the Northeast of the map, I did that one in a Ford raptor without snow tires, that way I could easily drift to keep the multiplier going. Managed to get around 290k on my 3rd attempt.

Other than that it's just a matter of combining a clean start with some quick passes and wreckage/landscaping, and being cautious on the jumps so you don't collide with anyone when you land.

Thanks, I still have to try driving more without snow tries. Only did that once or twice so far to get one of the achievements. :)

The circuit race skill point challenge can be cheesed by increasing laps lol.

Am I blind? How do I access the expansion? There is nothing on the map or messages or something. Bought the pass, downladed it and updated everything...
I'm having a similar problem, although I don't have the same issue with achievements. I'm hoping it's just related to amount of progress made in the campaign - I've upgraded Byron Bay to level 2 and Outback to level 2 also. I can drive to the airport but there are no event icons near it so I assume I may need to upgrade Outback further first.

My next fans unlock is a showcase event if I remember correctly, so hopefully that may also trigger the expansion to unlock.

It sucks. Why are they doing it this that way? I pay for the expansion, just give me a button on the main menu, like in the Storm Island expansion.

Blizzard Mountain is pretty great so far. I like the challenges too though some of them are kind of impossible with unbeatable AI
(accurate name)
or at least they feel that way. I have had to drop my difficulty down quite a bit a few times since it's hard to keep pace when you're forced to drift around or whatever instead of racing properly.

It feels unbalanced in some respects. Playing with highly skilled AI I had trouble with some races involving rally cars and such, but if I use my S1 Bowler I finish 10 seconds before anyone else.

One gripe regarding the ending:

You award me the Ken Block car for winning, that is cool. But did you realize it is also free to buy because it is part of the expansion...?

Do you guys all have steering wheels or do you fly with the gamepad?

G27, but the FFB is dissapointing so far, hopefully those 2 new settings can make it better, haven't tried them yet.

The new Force Feedback Understeer slider allows players to control the FFB torque resistance when tire peak grip is exceeded and it starts to slide. The player can either increase or decrease this effect by moving the slider; the default profile value for this is equal to what it is currently already in game.

The new Force Feedback Minimum Force slider allows players to control the FFB torque resistance when the tire peak grip has not yet been reached. Players can control the FFB resistance and make it tighter or looser near the steering wheel’s center point. The default profile value for this is equal to what is currently in game.

This should make it much easier to tell when you're on the limit or when you've exceeded it.

Picked up a Thrustmaster TX and t3pa pro pedal set for cheap a couple of days ago. This is like playing a totally different game. I see why some of you swear by playing with a wheel now. I feel like I'm spending more time tinkering with the settings of this game and Forza Apex then driving but once you get them dialed in or close

The car is a 1974 Toyota Celica GT. Paint job is mine, it's a themed on a steel battalion manufacturer. :)
The tune is by Don Joewon Song. I used it for the drifing challenges.

Is your stuff on Marketplace or the Club? (I don't know how that works.) That Paint Job looks amaze.

Gamepad for now, but I'm really pondering getting a G29.

And I got the Gurkha, tuned it to S1, and spent 10 minutes rampaging around the map sending drivatars flying. Nothing like a 7-ton tank at 200km/h to make you feel like the Hulk.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!

Hmm...as soon as I loaded up the game and left whatever festival hub I was last saved in, the game auto-cut to an intro FMV movie for the expansion and put a marker on the map for me to access it. Should have been fairly obvious.

Maybe you need more progress? Though I myself am not very far into the game either(like 16% overall completion)

I use a Thrustmaster T300. Works well, and the game has since patched a few of the major wheel customization quibbles I had at launch.

I do find drift events near impossible to play on a wheel though, but I much prefer using one for races and general world exploration. When I do go back to a controller, it plays fine(Xbone trigger rumble is kind of neat too), but I also get bored pretty quickly just using an analog stick and triggers, whereas the wheel keeps me FAR more engaged. Though I don't quite enjoy the less punishing feel of Horizon on a wheel compared to standard Forza, still a fun time though, like sitting in an arcade setup.

I haven't played the game but just out of curiosity what is it about the drift events do you find difficult with the wheel? Are cars overall difficult to powerslide with a wheel or do they suffer from too much traction or grip?

You need 200,000 fans, which unlocks the third festival site and Blizzard Mountain.

I'm not having any stuttering issues on PC for the expansion. I don't know if that's from general patching or just for the Blizzard Mountain zone, but it plays really well.

Yeah, it's a bit strange. Similar to the car packs - they unlock in game but to actually add them to your garage you have to claim each car one by one, with all the loading that includes. An absolute pain.

Thanks for this, good to know - I have a way to go yet then!

Is there snow outside of snow mountain? I love snow .... I love driving in it (in game!) but I just started the game last night, so I was going to hold off on the expansion for a bit.

(I also want to find another awesome 21x9 game! No idea what)

So any advice with what to read to learn more about this game? There is a ton. I have been pretty much just driving around trying to do things on the map.

So Blizzard Mountain has to be up there with the likes of Raam's Shadow (Gears 3), Minerva's Den (Bioshock 2), Burial At Sea (Bioshock Infinite), The Citadel (Mass Effect 3), and The Ballad of Gay Tony (GTA IV) for most robust, impressive, and impactful DLC? Anyone else agree?

Which other ones am I missing? Witcher 3 expansions and some Playstation stuff too right? I didn't play Witcher 3 nor do I play on Playstation normally but the Last Of Us DLC must belong to this group no?

Mainly I just want to express how amazing Blizzard Mountain is. This is just incredible. It's like the entirety of Forza Horizon 3, but just a little bit smaller, coated with a thick layer of snow.

Edit: Looking through the games I've played, the only other truly impressive and breathtaking single player expansions I can think of are (besides the ones listed above):

The Writer and The Signal (Alan Wake)
The Missing Link (Deus Ex Human Revolution)

Now that I got many hours into Blizzard Mountain I'm bothered by the fact that game is actually punishing you for using snow tires. I stopped using them and pretty much all races are a joke now and I get 3 starts on first try where as before with snow tires I had to retry many times to get even close to 2 starts.

I still use snow tires from time to time, but I just found them worthless and a handicap in majority of races. Really strange. Is anyone else having similar experience?

Yes! I was struggling to place Top 3 with snow tires and haven't lost a race since ditching them. I suspect some of the assist help with what snow tires do and having both on is esse tially handicapping your car? I would assume it's not tuned this way on everyone's setups, basically!

Wait till you get to a race across the ice lake.

I only just got it and haven't messed around without the snow tires yet.

Interesting if you can just beat everything with regular street or race tires. I'm on unbeatable AI and haven't had any issues winning and completing objectives yet though.

For me the expansion is GOTY, yep it's that good.
Although i purchased the expansion pass $25
So $12,50 for blizzard mountain and another $12,50 for whatever comes next is totally worth it imo

How can you guys tell ifbl you have completed an event when looking at it in the map??

Don't burn yourself out, man :)

Just buy the thing whenever you feel like playing it again.

I'm like level 700 and finished everything else in the base game as well really. I'm still having fun playing around with tunes and stuff, and the snow is a neat addition.

If you think it's the best racing game of all time, more isn't bad unless you're just burned out.

exactly, i feel burned out, i never liked racing games but the Horizon series is something out of this world, when ever i buy a racing game i play it for like 5 hours max and drop it

i got so addicted to FH3 that i play 9 hours non-stop, i even hold myself from going to the bathroom to play, truly a masterpiece that worth getting an xbox one for itself alone

the only other racing game that i really liked beside FH is Burnout paradise, the racing in Burnout was trash but the roaming is so much fun i played it for tens of hours

i enjoy Forza Motorsport NOT for the racing, but for the trolling and crashing into people lol

anyway, i'll see some videos about the expansion and decide if i should buy it or if i really had enough

If you've completed a Bucket List it'll be greyed out. If you've completed an exhibition on a route it'll have a label with a cup under it to indicate a championship, and will go grey once you finish the championship. If you 3-star a PR stunt the icon will go gold.

Basically anything that isn't greyed out or gold means you've still got stuff to do.

And you can absolutely progress doing only races. The beauty of this game is that it lets you progress any way you want. I've maxed out my fan count and haven't even discovered some of the PR stunts, nor have I finished all the championships.

It's different enough to get you excited again. IMO
