Don't worry yet. It'll come up.What were the metal scraps and ghost soul things for? I have them all.
There's a part in Cape Crustacean and I have no idea how to get past it. It's two lasers just moving left to right, but they never turn off and i don't fall down into lower area like a section before with one laser.
Help?

Letting the player just grab that stuff without knowing what it's for is something I really like about the game. It's a good compromise for what that is. (Imagine how annoying it'd have been if that stuff didn't spawn until that point in the game...) I feel like THIS is how you do fetch quests and other games could take a lesson in how to make it NOT feel frustrating.
It's bad on Vita? Does it run at 60fps with slowdown or is it just juddery looking all the time?Man, I wish I had gone PS4 instead of Vita, the framerate is pretty chuggy and inconsistent. It might have felt better locked at 30. (Though I realize in 2016 it's borderline unfair to complain about performance on the Vita.)
Enjoying the game so far, though. I've often disliked the "sprites on 3D background" thing but it just looks fantastic here.

How fast do we need to complete them?
Question : will the game be released physically in Europe, or just digitally ? I didn't find the information.
Do we know when the physical versions release. I heard they were releasing after the digital versions, is that true?
Wayforward finished the game, submitted the finished game to the platform holders (and XseeD), and then announced that they were giving early digital copies to the backers and journalists around Dec 12 (give or take a few days). They announced that they were setting the digital release date for regular folk as being Dec 20. They said that the physical version was XseeD's problem, and it was up to XseeD to provide their own physical release date.
Then XseeD announced that there was no problem. Wayforward gave them plenty enough warning, so Dec 20 is also XseeD's physical release date. The physical Wii U version will be Dec 27 due to an unexpected Nintendo delay (with the digital Wii U version slated as "ASAP").

As sad as it is for me to say it, the game doesn't run that well on PS4 in some areas. The second act of Main Street has frame rate issues at certain points, and for some reason revisiting Mermaid Falls after completing it at least once causes the entire first act of that stage to chug at sub-30fps. I'm actually really disappointed in the quality of the port. If you don't really care which system you get it on, go with PC.
Seems like it's like this on the PS4 too, according to a GameFAQs poster:
So we have reports of framerate issues on both Sony platforms.
Guy is exaggerating. It's not as bad as people think. But then again, I don't see any framerate issues on Main Street or even in Mermaid Falls. I'm probably wrong again haha.Seems like it's like this on the PS4 too, according to a GameFAQs poster:

Sorry about ignoring this the first time. But what I saw was mostly in this thread, IE unusually low performance for a high power computer. But then I guess the issue might be running the wrong renderer too? What PC issues? (still trying to decide on a platform)
I'd say it just feels kinda bad when you're used to it being 60 fps and it goes to 30 fps. But you know, that's still pretty playable, and pales compared to the slowdown we've seen in some 16-bit games. Would be nice if they could put out a patch to deal with that though, at least a toggle to bring it down to Wii U fidelity but at 1080p.Guy is exaggerating. It's not as bad as people think. It will run all stuttery on refresh rates higher than 60 hz even on a 980Ti desktop. 1920*1080@60 is perfectly smooth. What PC issues? (still trying to decide on a platform)
From what I've read the PC and Wii U versions are safe bets regarding a steady performance?
(that final slide part can rot in hell though)
I wasn't aware this game had orchestrated music but glad my cash helped make that a reality.P.S.
The music is mind blowingly amazing, Mermaid Falls and Mermaid Factory are so GOOOOOD!

They feel like something from the 90s, so "Snesy"/"genesisy".
Hope this helps you make your decision.
I can confirm no performance issues in the Wii U version.Wii U one looks super stable from this video.

So...
When should one start pestering Wayforward about not getting any gamecodes (Wii U PAL)?
Today too soon, have everyone gotten codes in emails?
If you are a backer, then contact them right away via support email. If you a member of the press but sent them a message already, do so again. They set out to have codes out to both backers and press by Dec. 20th.
This is important if you backed the game; you should have your copy by now. So hit up the support email and let them you that you do not have a copy yet.
The only time I've seen the Wii U version skip frames is when it is saving the game to my external USB drive, and when there are lots of explosions on screen like when you defeat theI can confirm no performance issues in the Wii U version.
They said that Wii U EU backers were getting a complimentary Steam key because of the delay in the very same campaign update. I wonder what's the hold up.I'm not sure they've sent out EU Wii U codes yet, though - last update on the campaign was that they were delayed, though that was about a week ago. Certainly, I can't remember having gotten any e-mails or anything regarding it, though last I logged into my Backerkit account, I did have a complimentary Steam key added to my account I hadn't otherwise been notified of.
For some reason I thought the WiiU version for Shantae would be moved to Switch too so I was kind of ignoring its release, lol
Went for the WiiU (Europe) backer reward tho so I got nothing yet. No Steam code either. Messaged them about it minutes ago, but looking at some of the replies it seems none of the EU WiiU backers got a Steam code yet? Hmm.
Whoops, yeah that was it. Figured I'd get an e-mail, but it's already right there on my backerkit profile page (forgot I even had that, had to dig around the site to find it)As I mentioned above, there was one on my Backerkit account explicitly marked as being a complimentary code due to the EU WiiU delay when I logged in over the weekend. If other folks haven't gotten a Steam code as well, I'm not sure what's up with that.
I didn't get any notification to say anything had been added to my account, though, so if you aren't checking the backer updates or your account, you may not be made aware it's been added.

WayForward said:Due to circumstances that are beyond our control, we are still missing 800 Wii U (EU) Backer Codes. We are working hard to get the matter resolved. However, we are concerned that the codes will not arrive before the holidays. We will be on standby throughout the holiday. If the codes arrive we will distribute them the moment they come in. Please be aware that this may not be fixed until after the holiday.
Each of you has been sent a complimentary Steam Code for Windows PC so that you can play the game. These codes, which were sent out via Backerkit, are yours to keep. We know this doesnt solve the problem for many of you. Please accept our sincere apology. The moment Wii U (EU) codes arrive, well send them.
