So...
  • Base Game: $60 (or cheaper, if you know where to look)
  • Season 1 Character Pack: $30
  • Season 2 Character Pack: $30
Not that bad of a deal, actually. Though with the base game being available for cheaper in stores (again, if you know where to look), the deal becomes not as great as it would be on paper. Either way, I can see the 2017 Deluxe Edition going on sale a few times this year, or Capcom even doing a physical release for the 2017 Deluxe Edition.

Bear in mind that S2 is essentially a preorder as we have not seen the new chars yet.

BTW, any "Super" SFV repackage is a dumb idea.

No Super Street Fighter V physical re-release?
That depends on what you mean by a Super version.
  • If you mean just a DLC collection with the Super name, it'd give the impression that Capcom went back on their word. That said, I could see Capcom doing a physical re-release in the near future, just without any of the Super/Ultra/Ultimate names.
  • If you mean a brand new iteration of Street Fighter V, don't count on it. Capcom made a conscious effort to avoid splitting the player-base for the sake of the Capcom Pro Tour (I believe this was one of the reasons for PS4/PC cross-play).

So...
  • Base Game: $60 (or cheaper, if you know where to look)
  • Season 1 Character Pack: $30
  • Season 2 Character Pack: $30

I personally think the price is bullshit. The base game has been on sale for $20 a few times and even cheaper for a physical copy. I don't know what they're thinking with this nonsense.

"if you know where to look" = steam and amazon :p It's $25 on amazon right now. It has been 50% off on steam in the past and probably will be again this winter sale.

The new sku is $10-15 bucks off, realistically speaking, so I guess we're still in the 'not a bad deal' territory.

Unless it's a retail re-release with the content on the disc, I don't care.
If you mean everything that ever will be made for SFV, that likely won't happen until 2020. As for just Seasons 1 & 2, I could see the 2017 Deluxe Edition getting a physical release once the leaked Arcade & Extra Battle modes get released.

Arcade mode?
As stated above, Arcade Mode is leaked to be on the way, but we don't know when specifically it'll come out. Same for Extra Battle, though Capcom did officially mention this mode earlier this year.

Season 1 came with 1 stage, no idea about season 2.
No stages released during the first season were part of the pass. Only characters and a premium costume for each (and a theme on PS4).

EDIT:
Wait. Guile Stage was added later. So yeah, one stage. XD
EDIT 2:
Guile stage was included with the pass, I think to apologize for the launch issues/delays.

*****

I'd say that the price is just off.
Because the people that usually wait a year or so to buy "the edition with everything" usually expect a $60 price tag at most (the regular MSRP).

Fans already have the game and first season. Some already got season 2. Others got the game (and first pass) through sales and discounts.

So asking people to pay $80, I'm not sure who they're aiming at.

Dont the "Seasons" not even come with the stages?.... only characters?
These are basically character passes. So while the 2016 Character Pass came with Air Force Base (as a thank you for 2016 Season/Character Pass owners at the time for having to deal with Alex & Guile being free until July), the 2017 Character Pass only has...
  • Akuma & 5 newcomers
  • All 10 colors for said characters' defaults
  • Said characters' Battle Outfits

No stages released during the first season were part of the pass. Only charactersand a premium costume for each (and a theme on PS4).
Not entirely true, since (as mentioned above) Air Force Base was retroactively added to the 2016 Character Pass.

Isn't Injustice 2 gonna do Loot Boxes?
Yeah, though mostly for armor upgrades and customization; and things can be earned by playing the game too.
Characters and other stuff won't be part of them*

*At the moment, since WB likes to experiment with this kind of things. But that's another topic.

I thought Capcom said there wouldn't be any other edition other than SFV?
It's basically just a bundle with the base game & the characters from Seasons 1 & 2, not something akin to SSFIV.

I think at this point, they need to give me money to play this crap. Will stick with the competition and SF4. Amazing way to destroy a franchise.
Looking at your previous posts, your main problem seems to be the lack of an Arcade Mode (which is indeed coming). The actual fighting itself isn't bad by any means.

In previous games like Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs Capcom 3, you couldn't simply buy the originals and and then add whatever else came out as DLC. If you wanted to keep up with updates you had to buy a physical or digital copy of Super Street Fighter IV or Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and the original disc or download was useless. That will never happen with SFV according to Capcom.

May end up jumping on it as a way to force myself into playing the game again. I was excited prior to launch, got it on day of release. Played it a few times but then it got lost in a sea of other games, have not played it in over 6 months.

If you already have the game, you can just get the Character Passes by themselves or earn the characters with Fight Money.

I would be ok with just season 1 + Arcade and Extra Battle modes.

I would buy the definitive edition in 2020 anyway.

It's a terrible price for those who intend to actually play the game and earn fight money to get characters from either season 1 or 2.
