Is it just me, or does Kilgore have accessories? He has some things on his costume that I don't remember seeing on that match vid that was posted earlier(but has since been taken down). Yeah...those are definitely accessories.
EDIT: Speaking of Kilgore, I guess some people are posting match vids against an AI controlled Kilgore up on Youtube, and this characters looks really neat! For what seems like a slightly different Fulgore, Kilgore has some very interesting mechanics to him!!
I hated it at launch but they have made alot of improvements and i've been liking it alot lately. Some people still hate it but its certainly worth a shot to see if it speaks to you.

The KI team recently went back to Thunder's and colaborated with the Nez Perce community to create a more accurate Native American fighter. I don't usually notice developers doing stuff like this, so it's nice to see.

Old thunder looks great, I never really liked his boots though. This new one looks fucking awesome though! I might have to go back to playing more Thunder. I kinda dropped him when S2 characters started dropping.

It's pretty good for mashing on CPU opponents with a colorful variety of unlocks and rewards raining down after every match. Also, the latest update integrated human players' shadow characters. Every so often a shadow shows up as an enemy, nice touch.

He's making OST's for smaller games as well. Not entirely sure why we lost him for KI.

Yeah I don't see why his success with Doom would stop him from coming back to KI..he left cause he didn't have the time to work on Doom AND Season 3 and didn't want half ass anything.
If MS ups the budget for a potential KI4 they should just throw a bunch of money at Mick to get him back.
Max made a video where he stated he would prefer to see a newly booted, fleshed out KI in 3 to 4 years. I kinda agree with that. Update S1-3 in the time being with small things, but I would love to see a new iteration with Scorpio in mind. New imagined roster, new music, new graphics, maybe new style and advanced(not complicated) combo mechanics.
With new seasons the interest in KI stays kinda the same, maybe lessen even. A new game would attract more interest and new players. imo.

Yes. It was on sale for $25 at some point earlier this year...
Also the ultra edition is $20 on Xbox right now so that might apply to the W10 store as well...? That's just season 3 it looks like but worth looking into if there are other deals for the game atm.
If the main issue was that he didn't have enough time then more money isn't gonna help.
I'm assuming a KI sequel, if it happens, would also probably get continuous support like the current one. And with Mick only getting more and more popular (for good reason mind you), I have a real hard time seeing how he could possibly find the time to come back. Making the music for KI is no small task and he's said himself that he wouldn't wanna half-ass it.
It's a bummer but at least we can still listen to him make great music for other games. Atlus Plug & Celldweller aren't as good but considering they had to follow after Mick, I think they did alright. They just need to get out of their comfort zone more like they did with Eyedol's theme).
The sales are the same as the Xbox ones. They share the same storefront now. It applies to both platforms.

I can't imagine Atlas Plug and Celdweller came any cheaper than Mick would be. He loved KI so time permitting I see no reason he couldn't come back unless there's something we don't know.

OK thanks. Is it worth hanging on for a bargain Season 1 code, or is it unlikely to get discounted now it's so old? Do I need the Season 1 characters, or will I be OK with just Season 2 for a while?
Just read he's only usable through the run for which you unlock him, so max out your usage with him while you can.
It gets discounted a couple times a year it seems. For example, on Black Friday you could get all 3 seasons for $20.
You don't need the other seasons. You could play all the SP content now with the rotating character, all for free. That includes fighting against all characters in Survival or even online. The Season is just a character and stage pack that allows you to select them for usage.
It really depends which characters you gravitate towards, they're each unique. That said, my favorites are mostly in Season 1 and 2. Is there a particular fighting archetype you prefer, or maybe a favorite character or two you have from other fighting games? We could offer recommendations.
Thanks for the info. I usually like fast characters like Taki from Soul Blade, or mid-weight characters like Kazuka from Tekken. How many characters are there per season?
There are 8 per season. There are two bonus characters Shadow Jago for Season 1 and Omen for Season 2. You can buy Shadow Jago individually if you want, but I think Omen is still accessible only to Season 2 Ultra owners. Omen doesn't sound like your type, so I wouldn't fret over it.
I'm not very familiar with Soulblade and Tekken, but three of fastest and most mobile characters in KI are in Season 2. Maybe the following will help?

She is season 1, but they just made her an unlockable in Shadow Lords.

Wow...was not expecting to feel Eyedol so much. Glad someone here told me to try him out. Its surprisingly easy to start shit with him from about anywhere and he's got some really sick launcher stuff I wanna try to learn followups to.
Gettin the hang of making combos and breakin shit. Very very easy to do in this game. Really impressed by how pick up simple they made it for folks to feel good and pull off swank stuff. Also diggin that mousing over anything in your commands nets you a description of the move popping up. Fucking gorgeous GUI and help in this game. Should become a standard IMO.
So far I'm feeling the most...

Again, not a lot of time due to work here to play, and I still haven't tackled this big roster that it grew but this is damned promising that I've found so many I like so quick already. Eager to test Spinal and lab out more on the rest.

I wanna love this dude by man it feels like you need some damned solid reads to break all the shit he cant run from and chunk up to get this beast goin out there. I may find I can enjoy him more once I get good time in with KI though. Later once I know the cast and matchups more I may find him easier to set people up with. Feels fucking great to wall slam fools though.

Only problem with Eyedol is that some characters can beat one of his stances and when he switches stance mid combo, which can be jarring. At the same time the slow down can be used at times to better read what your opponent's about to do.

I finally buckled down and finished Shadow lords on challenging as well. Once I unlock the additional Fulgore color I'm hoping to never have to go near the POS again.

Picked this up since I finally got a controller for my PC (though I'm a little disappointed the PC doesn't get the Killer Instinct Arcade ports).
Loving it so far, but a few questions:
1. Do you recommend playing without combo assist? Is it automatically turned off online?
2. Is the AI really easy? Because I just plowed through the easy and medium difficulties in Story Mode really easily my first time. Is hard mode a bigger jump?

1. Yes, turn off combo assist immediately.
2. Yes the jump to hard mode is pretty big IMO..hard and up is challenging..if you breeze through hard mode than you're getting good at the game. And Very Hard is what you should train against if you're gonna play ranked.
I disagree with this, at least this statement as-is without further explanation.
There's no incentive not to use some features of it. I was not a fan initially, but there's very little incentive NOT to use it, so I left it on.
I started before it was added, so I knew the move motions. I guess the only catch is there are some linkers and shadow linkers combo assist won't use automatically, but you can still do those manually if you know what they are. For example, if you use Mira, and hit a kick button, it won't ever use her bite linker, just her drill since both use kick buttons, but you can always do the qcb for bite manually. So, just be aware of what you might be missing. Same goes for enders.
If you only wan to use some parts of combo assist, there's almost no reason not to turn it on for triggering Ultra combos, unless you really want to do the quarter circle motion + 3 buttons instead of just forward + 3 buttons.
I would probably go through the Dojo mode first with it off just to get the idea of the combo structure.

You need to start ending turns until the Omens start popping up, defeat them because you want to disable Gargos. After that end turns until Gargos shows up. Grinding waves is only for collecting loot best I can tell.
