US PSN Holiday Sale Week 4 (12/27/2016 - 01/02/2017)

Do you need the deluxe edition of UFC to get Bruce Lee, Tyson, etc.?

They cost about $16 or so bundled together, probably more separate, but I think they're included in the Deluxe Edition which is only $5 more right now. That DLC bundle plus the regular game for $20 isn't too bad (they were free pre-order bonuses but I guess there's no way to get them for free anymore) and even more so if you're into the EA Ultimate Team thing.

After telling myself that I was done buying games for the year, I'm thinking about picking up Inside, Talos Principle, Virginia, and Odin Sphere.

Some of these PSN sales are putting Steam to shame.

At first I was not impressed by this sale, now I have 6 items in my cart:

ABZU
The Evil Within
The Witness
Unravel
Virginia
The Talos Principle

Unravel is as cheap as it can be so I will get it for sure. Virginia has a smaller discount % but is even cheaper. These two I will get for sure.

Abzu has a good discount, the game seems beautiful and I don't see the price going much under that in the near future (few months).

Talos Principle has a huge discount, it isn't super cheap though. But as I am not getting witness, this could be my puzzle game for a while...

Both Evil Within and The Witness I believe will get better discounts sometime in the future so I will just wait a little more.

Thoughts? Anything I am missing? I dont buy anything digital that costs more than 15 dollars.

Any opinions on the following?

Senran Kagura: Estival Versus
Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet
The Witch and the Hundred Knight

I can't get anyone to acknowledge that they even played Senran Kagura EV, let alone give me an impression lol.

Dunno about Touhou but everyone has said The Witch and 100 Knights is T-R-A-S-H.

All solid but you are missing INSIDE, easily one of the best games of the year, for $10.

Hold on a fucking second.

ESO GOLD is now $35 dollars when I paid $60 dollars for it on sale last week?

Edit: what the flying fuck Sony. There was a gold edition premium bundle that came with currency for the store. It was the only one on sale at the time that included the 4 main dlc so I got that for 60. NOW, the following fucking week they sell the regular gold edition which is what I actually wanted without the fluff of the f2p store money. That is dirty as shit.

I secretly didn't write about INSIDE to see if someone would point out that I should get it... you did it so I had to buy it :D

Abzu + INSIDE + Talos Principle + Unravel + Virginia = 35usd, averaging 7usd per game. amazing value.

Someone previously got a refund by emailing the customer support explaining a different edition of a game they wanted was in the sale compared to an edition they had bought. The CSR emailed back saying they would refund. Maybe worth a try?

Got Diablo 3 on PS4 and KOF 2002, plus...

GAF, how did you never told me about WAND WARS?

I've had a freaking blast with my friends today playing the local multiplayer modes, if you never heard about it and love local fun, DO IT RIGHT NOW!

Looks like top-down Lethal League. Still bummed that never got a console release.

This has no online, though. Is the SP any good?

Sony don't set the prices and I highly doubt they are overseeing individual price adjustments either. Blame Zenimax. It is dumb as fuck though, hope you can get a refund.

This only makes me want them more! Shame about The Witch and the Hundred Knight.

I with the Rainbow Six season pass was on sale. Ubi just fucking with people who bought the game at this point, same with people who bought The Division.

Agreed. I bought the vanilla version on disk for 19.99 over the summer, so the complete edition is really too much for me at this point just for operators. Wonder why companies seldom put the season pass on sale, but instead discount the bundled versions of the game. Example, Bloodborne, Dying Light, Division, etc.

Bummer practice.

Re: Odin Sphere

Played the demo. Enjoyed it. How is the actual games combat tutorial? Seems like something I'd want to truly delve deeply into and figure out.

Evolved1

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
lol I just bought a ton of shit I will probably never play.

Grabbed Diablo, Inside, Abzu, and Wand Wars.
Really wanted Witcher and Touhou but I've seen both go on sale a couple times before so I figured they could wait.

Anyone got impressions on One Way Trip? Looks kinda cool, kinda like Waking Life: The Game. Premise seems interesting too

Got an AMEX gift card as a gift from work so after grabbing Inside I splurged a little bit. Grabbed Abzu, Virginia, Talos Principle, and both Witcher 3 DLC packs.

If you liked Virginia but were indifferent to similar games I'd like to hear from you. I enjoyed Gone Home but was disappointed by Oxenfree and straight up loathed Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. What am I in for here?

If you havent picked up Watch Dogs 2 yet is it worth it for the price? Ive read about the game but getting some mixed reviews.

Thats a good price for what it offers,I didnt like the first one but this one is a step up,fun story, better protag, better activites and a little better driving lol.

I really want Odin Sphere but my backlog of newly acquired games is massive.

Fuck. Maybe I'll hold out for a physical version sale.

I didnt bother to finish Gone Home and hated Rapture, but played through Virginia twice (should also say I really liked Firewatch). There is very little to actually interact with in Virginia though. Its got a weird style, story, and vibe that I liked though.

i've been tempted to get Odin Sphere as well. it's apparently pretty good? but my backlog is evolving... FFXV took more time than i was expecting this month. curse you addictive RPGs and your hundreds of hours of content!

Dude, play Gone Home. You can pretty much beat it in two hours even if you do everything, and it's super atmospheric and tells a really good story. Oh yeah, and it's ridiculously easy to Platinum.

Rapture....yeah, it's boring as hell, I have to agree.

To witcher 3 or not to witcher 3 gaf, please help. Never played it. I like adventure games and RPGs, loved Bloodborne and ds3, liked quite a lot dragon age Inquisition and I'm currently deciding between this or ffxv. Which one should I get first? If so, is it worth getting the complete edition?

It's no contest, get Witcher 3 complete edition.

do witcher 3. maybe ff xv will be better by the time you complete it

Great sale. Grabbed...

- Inside (have it on PC, but really wanted the console version)
- Virginia based on GAF and eurogamer recommendation
- Wolfenstein the New Order
- Evil Within

And have a lot of the major releases already. Incredible value here. Really shouldn't be hearing any complaining about this holiday sale.

What is the file size of RE4 on PS4? Just bought it on clearance for Xbox One at the same price, but I already have REmake and RE0 on PS4 from the October Humble Bundle. Might return the Xbox One copy.
