Most watched anime on Crunchyroll by game console

I'm sorry, I'm not really up on animals trends, but what is wrong with Fairy Tale? I watched it and found it to be a pretty enjoyable anime. Nothing amazing, but certainly nothing worthy of the derision it is receiving in this thread.

A) It's generic as fuck, if you look up generic in the dictionary, its picture is there.

B) Shit gets profoundly creepy with the fan service later on.

It's the white heterosexual middle-class office worker man of shonen anime (and he's also kind of a creep).

Fairy Tail for a lot of people, like Naruto and Bleach, epitomizes the absolute worst of a modern generic syndicated battle shounen that encapsulates a lot of the worst aspects of anime into it.

Bad writing, overwrought fanservice(especially in the manga) bottom of the barrel plot convenience with one note trope characters ect

Where's Wicked City?

<_< Your gonna keep doing this arent ya

Real talk, I can't believe the whole waifu thing is still so popular. I mean, these girls all look exactly the same and only have one of four pre-determined personalities. You'd think after the 7364528849593761436th clone of one of the K-ON girls people would get tired, but nope.

Edit: crap, not the post I meant to quote. Mobile never again.

Blame Kyoani for populariing the trend and focusing on Haruhi, Kanon 06, Clannad, Lucky Star, K-on ect, instead of making a new season of FMP all those years ago.

I think it was singlehandedly Kyoani's single minded focus on "MOE" and explosive popularity that ensued that generally defined the industry focus toward that going forward.

But at the same time, if you look beyond what your dismiss in the designs, you might find subversions, which is generally what keeps people watching.

Is Crunchyroll worth it in Europe (esp. Germany?)

Last time I checked ~2 years ago it had like 10% of the animes of the US catalog.

As someone that just recently finished the Little Witch Academia features and is 2/3rds through Kill la Kill, I can't imagine anything from last year surpassing that (although I know I'm LTTP). I'll check out the new Trigger show (Kiznaiver -- horrible name) and a few other things (Mob Psycho 100 springs to mind) but I'm just waiting for the LWA series to start.

I just got back into anime and I'm looking for exceptionally well animated and well written stuff that doesn't rely too heavily on tropes (unless they're done really well), so if anybody has any recommendations, hit me up!

Like really the Avatar arc is the worst with where Erza is basically strip naked and tortured by one of the villains. All the panels are drawn sexually and many panels of just her bare ass.

Hiro SMS fetish was over 11 that arc.

Also why did Hiro start making incest jokes with Cana and Gildarts?

Dude, if it's Little Witch Academia you waiting for, you should watch Luluco. It's by the same people and you can thank me later.

Watch Space Patrol Luluco if you haven't already. It;s very short (it's a short series so the episodes aren't too long) made by Trigger which is basically a big celebration of themselves as a company.

SPOILER, though I would say best to watch it blind:
The Space Patrol goes to different planets and visits several worlds that are either ACTUALLY series they've made in the past, or parodies of series Trigger has made in the past. One of the episodes they go to the world of Little Witch Academia.

I completely forgot there was a new Sailor Moon series. With that & Dragon Ball Super, it's like the old Toonami all over again.

"Kiss Him, Not Me"

LOL

I've seen a few episodes of that, it's a surprisingly funny show. It's about a female protagonist who's incredibly into BL, but was unattractive but she was fine with it since her passion is in watching boys be cute together. However, one of her favorite characters from one of her favorite animes dies in one of the newest episodes, and she breaks down and stuffs herself in her room with depression. When she comes out she lost a lot of weight and when she goes back to school, she's suddenly a beauty and has a lot of superficial attention by the pretty boys in the school who begin to make moves on her.

And it goes from there, but the show can be surprisingly witty and has a few good messages that ultimately develop in it. I didn't finish it but only since I've been busy.

I've contributed heavily for DBS and Naruto. Also just started One Piece (which I doubt I will ever have the time to finish).

As expected Wii u has the best selection

Especially jojo, which neither xb1 nor ps4 have in their top lists

I'm a regular crunchyroll viewer on wii u

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
No Berserk?! I'd expect it to make it on at least one console or handheld

With how terrible that anime was I'm not surprised. I'm guessing word of mouth was tepid, especially from the hardcore manga fans.

Has "Seinen" anime ever been popular? Maybe back in the 80s? Nowadays though? (Jojo count?) I have no idea, don't watch anime anymore.

I can recall 3x3 Sazan Eyes's anime adaption getting quite a few awards back in the day for being a brilliant OVA series(which it was), but the manga AFAIK was even more popular in its heydey
