TM farming survived the night, wooo! Hopefully it will still be running when I get home later tonight which would be some awesome TM progress if so. I haven't used the trust moogle from the current event yet, was going to throw it at Excalibur but now I'm thinking I'll wait and see how far along it gets on it's own by the time another particularly challenging boss comes along because it'd be nice if it could just finish naturally and I could throw this and the one we'll get on the 28th for logging in on someone else for a quick 20% jump. I'll have to do the math to see if Sakarafabuki or Chiji with Blade Mastery would increase my attack more so I know whether to throw the moogles at Sakara or BM.

Finally finished going back through all the old story missions, phew. Now I can just simply do the new stages as they are released and boy was it nice to get a large lapis boost after spending the farm on Noctis. I think I'm back in the 13k range atm plus should be back up in the upper twenties in tickets I'd think. I should have a nice stockpile saved back up by the time the FFX banner hits as I don't think there will be any other banners worth pulling on before then unless we get the player's choice but I'd think that won't happen before Orlandu and hopefully Tidus hits. It'd be nice to have one with Orlandu and Tidus both in the lineup.

I also knocked out all the side quests that were in my queue including the Charlotte quest so I guess besides dailies, arena, and TM farming, I might as well start magicite farming to get those espers maxed. I need to max out Chorizo's level also so I can get her in the lineup but might just wait for the next dunes as there's no rush unless a brutal trial comes. From what I've looked up, seems like Phantom Forest is still the way to go for magicite farming. Yipee.... ;p


Chrono, what's your favorite FF game? Is there a banner you're really looking forward to based solely off of the characters? If all else failed, I'd still be pining for the FFVIII banner.

It's pretty depressing. I set my limit to how much lapis / tickets I'll use on the first day of the banner and stick to it. If it doesn't happen in that limit, too bad so sad try again next time.

yeah. there are some pretty crazy difficulty spikes in the story imo

I did some early exploration grinding initially which was great. Ended up being a two fold thing that I didn't realize until later. Good on the EXP, but I also ended up with a lot of shards for my Espers.

Exvius Wiki - Not sure of good one NRG vs EXP at this point since I haven't done that in a while. But if you go to the Explorations page it tells you the zones and what info you need before going into next zone to maximize your EXP in there.

I am curious as well, do you do any of the Colosseum stuff too? At higher end, once you work through it to go up ranks, you start getting pieces of gear for completing things and all. Also get some things to put in ability slots, like ATK 10% and all.

That'll do it. XD I didn't have that in very beginning, just a few friends. But now they're way overpowered. I'm weird in beginning of RPGs though too. I'll go grind a bit so stuff isn't ridiculous, which is probably what I did here too.

Edit: Also, thinking about it, I had two 5* right off the bat. First two pulls was rainbow Garland and rainbow Kuja. So that probably had some help as well.

I mean, of the ones that haven't been released yet, I guess it's Cloud. I know, stereotypical answer given by many, but as mentioned FFVII was the first title in the series I played to completion, so it kind of holds a special place in my heart. Given that his 5* base hasn't even been announced yet (or 6* base, given his popularity), I'm not holding my breath for him, haha.

I also really like Vivi. It's a damn shame what they did to him in this game.

Rating all the TM's on one axis is kind-of a fool's errand, regardless of how the final ordering ends up. That said, I'm not sure how else they could do it. Create groups of TM's that go together? So you have the "ultimate physical set", the "ultimate mage set", the "ultimate healer set" etc. That still doesn't easily answer the question most people go to the page with, which is "I just got some dude, his TM any good?" I assume that's what they are trying to target with the ratings as they are now. Good luck to them, it's a thankless job.

After launch, was originally planning on rerolling, because I had a fairly shitty team starting out. Initially, I had NO physical attackers. Remember, this is back when people were rerolling for Vaan.

I started with Kefka, Golbez, Zidane (!), Cecil (!), Terra, Rydia, Krile, and Kain. And I remember thinking the game was only giving me protagonists and antagonists -- Terra/Kefka, Cecil/Golbez, and after I drew Warrior of Light, I kept waiting for a 3* Garland, which happened months later. I remember getting Lenna; she was a clear upgrade. So was Exdeath.

And this choice quote:

[FFT Event] PRO down with a team of Celes, Golbez, Tellah, Exdeath, Kefka, and Kefka. The Loffrey in the 5th battle just didn't die, but I rode out the last round with the Kefkas doing Hyperdrives.

Apparently I got balls-deep drunk after the first Presidential debate, which caused me to do an 11-pull for Ramza. (And yet, I had the temperament to stop there, so I'm a functioning drunk.) And around that timeframe, as the country turned to shit, I somehow got Lightning. I don't remember,

As far back as October, my team was "pure" and things were challenging. I baked Mogcakes in airports in China and in my hotel in South Korea as I attended a friend's wedding, where actual human people dressed up like dragons and beat drums. Despite being shit-tier devs, I was uniformly impressed with how FFBE can run on slow data connections. (I couldn't play Record Keeper except in my hotel with wifi.) This is back when Ramza was my MVP.

I'm now wondering two things. Why don't gacha games have some kind of "pity counter" that try to keep people hooked? It makes business sense! Also, I understand the rationale behind not gifting units, but why can't we donate lapis? Anyway, the FF3 event!

Well, Xande wiped the floor with me thanks to Quake. I should probably think things through rather than brute forcing it.

Lightning, Ramza, WoL, Celes, Kekfa + Lightning/CoD isn't cutting it. It's rather humbling, to be honest!

I just got my Luneth to 6*, so he's useless for now, and Refia's 14 Sacred Crystals away from reaching 5*. My Cecils are 5* max and 3* grinding, respectively, so they're not realistically an option.

Will sub Lenna in for Celes and see if healing actually makes a difference. This could be her swan song. If I use a CoD with Omniveil, then I should be good.

I eventually triumphed. Then Gumi predictably shat the bed, Chrono pulled a Tilith, and Xande was bugged for a week and had like 800 hp, so everyone else triumphed too. Cue 8 hours of scheduled maintenance and 14 hours of unscheduled maintenance fixing the scheduled maintenance.

Then this happened:

An actual strategy! For the Maxwell fight! Doing something different! Thanks to this piece of sage advice, which I probably wouldn't have discovered myself, I obtained that 5* monstrosity of a Maxwell that looks svelte only next to White Knight Noel, who can go fuck himself for all eternities because he should've been Christmas Tree Exdeath.

This is still my most favorite thing about the game, next to Rain commenting on the sheer absurdity of the FFXIII plot.

Around here, I was fucking around at work (as one does) and pulled a Greg on a Daily Summon on the first day of the FFV banner.

... daily Gold to Rainbow. Greg (!!). I'm at work (no one's here) and I nearly shouted like crazy. First and last pull on this banner!

Ordinarily, you'd be utterly jealous, right? Well, maybe there is a built-in pity counter, because this was right after (drunkenly) whaling for Elza and I don't even know why now over Thanksgiving, because I didn't have anywhere to go. (I didn't post about that. Maybe I should've!) Let's humanize our pulls! We're all friends here.

December was basically a repeat of November: playing a lot at work because apparently it's an entire month-long holiday for people in the federal government. Over Christmas, because (again) I was spending it alone and because my sole Christmas present purchase was a $10 book entitled Men with Cats for my best friend Heather (which featured pictures of men with cats), I probably spent $200 for Noctis, then dropped another $300 for a PS4 Slim and FFXV.

Now, here we are. My computer is slaying millions of Dire Rats. I enjoy multiplayer in Record Keeper, I miss Ramza, and I have managed not to drop 50 tickets for Dark Fina.

After reading the ^ post, sometimes I wonder if there is such a thing as a pity pull. I know having a new buddy join the game that has the craziest of luck, I wish he'd make pull videos especially with now having spent money... I think he's around $500 and has at LEAST 15 5 star bases (Like for real, make his own raid party), he started playing the first week of November. Hearing someone have that sorta luck, buddy or not makes you demoralized about your own pulls. I know I've personally avoided the forums (as great as they are), for the exact reason. That doesn't mean I'm not happy or excited hearing others 5 star / Tm progress though. I had a crazy string of luck during the Noctis banner, Pulled Greg first day I believe on a 10+1, but than pulled Noctis on a ticket the last day. It's crazy how things can flip so quick, and I truly hope everyone gets to have their moment to shine (for some, sooner than later) T.T

Laz Highlands Exploration is like 281 for 10 NRG.

Wolfsgang Exploration is 300 or so for 11 NRG.

Lanz Ruins Basement Lv 1 is 248 for 10 NRG. Lv 2 is 252 for 10 NRG.

So looks like around 10 NRG.

Im just feeling sad that when a New player ask for advice, more than one here Will put the link of "that" thing.

Rating all the TM's on one axis is kind-of a fool's errand, regardless of how the final ordering ends up. That said, I'm not sure how else they could do it. Create groups of TM's that go together? So you have the "ultimate physical set", the "ultimate mage set", the "ultimate healer set" etc. That still doesn't easily answer the question most people go to the page with, which is "I just got some dude, his TM any good?" I assume that's what they are trying to target with the ratings as they are now. Good luck to them, it's a thankless job.

Everyone will have different opinions on what is the top 10 best Tm's. Some I agree with, some I don't, but I don't run the site.

Yup. Some of the ratings make very little sense at all. For example, many would consider Miyuki's katana to be a key TM farm for a physical unit at the moment. Yet, it is rated horribly under the new system. This is what happens (as correctly noted by robotuw) when everything is reduced to an one-dimensional formula.

For example, how many here would actually argue that Asha's Talisman is superior to Power of Creation (which is strangely rated the same as MAG +30%)? Doubtful, anyone. But that is what happens when the numbers are coldly assessed in a vaccum without context.

Still, I can see a lot of headaches forming in the future over this list in the future.

And yes, tuffymon, I didn't see Dark Fina's TM listed anywhere on the list yet. An accidental omission (Luka's TM is missing as well from the list)?

Rain - Covers Fire and Earth with Ground Lava
Firion - Dual Wield - Water axe and wind fist
Refia - heal, dispel, and revive
WoL - For Breaking/debuffing and provoking. May gave him the Safety bit(Death proof)
OP companion - Most likely going to be Orlandu with Excalibur of course.

Look like I cover all 5 elements.

Doing 5 people only for the 30 % attack material.

Personally scared that they are going to make Ariana super strong and I'm going to be tempted to spend a lot of laips to get her. I'm sure the devs know that they are not going to get another high-profile collab (that will get this level of attention) like this for awhile.

Unless they plan on making her a free unit, there is serious incentive to maker her strong.

I really think Ariana is going to be free unit like Maxwell. Hopefully she has a great TM like Maxwell too. I don't see Ariana being a 5 star base character.
