Wait, it's on a Corolla?

IIRC the door jamb on my 2009 Corolla recommended 29 PSI, I can't imagine it'd be different with even the older and newer Corollas.

Maybe you just got a bad tire?

IIRC the door jamb on my 2009 Corolla recommended 29 PSI, I can't imagine it'd be different with even the older and newer Corollas.

This is a 2016. Idk what the door jamb says. But the dealer guys always fuck up my pressures and set all four at 36.

goddamn I love the new Lexus, especially the interior. Is that the car they stopped developing after the S Class came out? I think they did a great job at providing an alternative.

Set the tire pressures at the recommended for the car, maybe 4-6psi higher if you really want a firmer ride. The pressures are designed to support the weight of the vehicle, and the max pressure is for supporting heavier vehicles, not for spirited driving.

Even for autocrossing going above 40psi isn't that great (depending on the car of course). If your tires are falling over it's because they're over-tall and not designed for the sort of driving you want to do.

Just don't drive around with your tires at 50, that's not a good idea. And stop trying to justify it, it's not right or good for your tires or your safety. Stop it.

Thank you. Daily driving tire pressure never really needs to be above 38-39 psi hot IMO.

You aren't driving a F1 car on a track where you have a pit crew giving you tire readings. You are driving a Corolla in the suburbs. Follow what the door opening sticker says. If you need stiffer tries, buy one of these.

I've emailed sent a contact email from bfg to get in touch with a someone and ask them why he tire is this way. 50 is the warm temp and the spec is on the sight and the side of the tire is max 51 cold. This is 46 cold. At 43 warm it actually feels somewhat vague and visibly sags a bit, which is also out of the ordinary as well. I would expect a small sporty tire to be driving like a basketball at that pressure but I that is not the case. I'm sure you are aware that a sidewall that flexes excessively under the standing weight of the car can get heated on the freeway and damage a tire, too.

Again, I really appreciate the concern but I'm working with he spec of the as listed here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=g-Force+Sport+COMP-2 I already said that I'm going to temp the tread and it the center comes up high I'm going to back it off. But at 5 psi under the max, I think you may be overreacting. Tires are not eggshells.

The suburbs part is fine. I drive like a robot grandma in around people. It's the commute. There's about 15 miles a day on a rural fast road and yeah I kinda go ham out there. Many do. In a slow car, with small tires, it can actually be quite a workout for the tires and they can overheat which is why I check them. No team needed. Thank you very much for your interest.

Considering it's a turbo, you're probably gonna be running at full boost at all times with a CVT and from what knowledge I have of turbos, that's not really a good thing.

My journey of spotting rare and exotic BMWs continues. I saw a GTS on that SAME local road I've seen all of the others. This time I didn't do any u-turns, it was raining and a bit too much traffic too. But it didn't have the generic yellow New Jersey plate on it, nor did it have a Florida plate.

It was white plate with red numbers on it? What state is that?

Btw, the orange accented wheels are awful, as is the wing. It looks worse in person.

Some of the new bummers are great looking.. and some are just kind of scifi... And not in a good way.

But this seems to be a theme these days. Those Toyota grilles you pointed out are completely out there. And there is some kind of small Toyota with this red highlight tape shit all over the bumper. When I first saw one, I thought it was some kind of protective masking for transport but nooope.

I guess life is going on and roles are changing. Back when old guys would make fun of good scoops and discreet wings and I thought they were cool.... Here we are and so many new cars don't have conservative enough styling for me.

Maybe I'm out of touch? No. It is the children that are wrong.

I like wings on street/track cars but the one in the GTS is just a boring flat spoiler that looks aftermarket. Viper ACR, GT Porsches look amazing with the wing.

I actually really like the orange accents.

The one thing I don't like about German styling these days is that they're just too damn bland. So accents, however gaudy they are, are a net benefit than a detraction to the car imho.

I think this is also why I really like the Lexus' Predator grille, the fact that it's so wildly different from everyone else just makes it more awesome lol.

That it does but it was initially rumored to have a CVT along with the stick.

Thankfully those were just rumors and nothing else.

I really don't know how i feel about that grille. Something about it does not seem to fit right ro at least doesn't seem like it should be on a luxury car. In the rear view, it almost looks like some kind of... texture. Like organic or like a fly or something.

After some googling around, it is Illinois that has a white license plate with red lettering.

Wonder why the car was registered in Illinois.

Edit: Already figured it out after some more Googles. Fields BMW (the largest BMW dealer in Florida) has a large showroom in Illinois in Northfield. Which looks really fancy.

The fact that the mesh changes direction halfway through makes it not appealing to me, choose 1

I just sold my stickshift '07 335i. A great weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Driving it was a blast though....

Does anyone have thoughts on the new X1?

What a coincidence. One of my old high school buddies works there.

It's actually where we got the X5. They had an M4 GTS when I was in for service a little while back. It was already sold. Customer just hadn't come to pick it up.

The detail shop that did all the work to my car also worked on 2 GTS recently. Even after all the shit those cars have gotten in reviews, I'd still like to take one out to see how it compares to the standard car.

I have now 2000km on my Golf GTI and I never want to go back to a "normal" 100HP car.
It is so much fun to drive around in it. Starting it in the morning brings a smile to my face.

I'd like to hear more about that stickshift 07 335i. Money pit? =) Still, those are somewhat of a unicorn these days and for someone with the enthusiasm and deep pockets to keep it maintained would probably have a heck of a time with it.

This is what a good car should do for you. I feel the same way about my MX-5. Just pulling it out of the driveway to start heading to work improves my mood. Zoom Zoom!

So guys, if you had a 30k euro budget what car would you buy to track? I found a 2014 Camaro SS 1LE for 26k euros only 15k kilometers.

You can remove some seats and padding here and there and drop the weight otherwise the car is a great performer. Some track pads, steel brake lines and better brake fluid to take care of the brakes not fading as much would do well. KW or something else for suspension and that's it. Maybe put wider wheels and tires, some aero bits to help with downfore and it's a winner.

Edit: And remove the horrible mods the previews owner put
